[𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗘 𝗘𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧: 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥]

THE ALARM BEGAN TO BLARE AROUND the whole hospital.

"what the hell," bob said, looking at the alarm. "we're too late," sage panicked. "what?" the newby adult questioned, confused.

"we're too late!" mike shouted then ran back to the room with his sister. "what's going on?" joyce asked the wheeler twins. "we're under attack," the twins replied in unison, once again, catching the bob newby, off guard.

sage walked over to the table and took a sedative in her hand. "we need to make will sleep."

"what?" joyce gasped. "he's a spy. if he knows where we are, so does the monster!" sage told the byers woman. "she's lying!" will cut in.

"he killed those soldiers. he'll kill us, too!" mike added in. "they're lying! they're lying! she's lying! he's lying! they're lying!" will shouted at his mom, trying to convince her.

gun shots were suddenly heard outside of the room. "those are gun shots!" bob said. "no shit, bob!" sage shouted at the newby adult.

"they're lying! they're lying!" will continued to shout. "okay, will, will, listen, listen. do you know who i am?" joyce asked her son. "do you know who i am?" she repeated.

"you're . . ." will tried spitting out. "you're . . . you're mom!"

joyce stared at her son and knew that it wasn't her son talking. "hold him down." the byers woman tells bob, her boyfriend.

bob reaches over to will and begins to hold him down on the bed.

"no! no! let go! no! no! let me go! let go!" will screamed and wiggled around in bob's grip. joyce took the sedative from sage and prepared it, aiming it at will's arm. "no, let me go!"

sage held will down with her mind to help out bob and joyce.

"i'm sorry. i'm so sorry."

"let me go! let go! let me go!"

mike grips onto his sister as she holds will down, staring at the situation in front of him.

joyce injects the needle into will's arm and his yells begin to slowly calm down. not even five seconds later — will was knocked out. hopper and owens run into the room just to see will asleep, joyce holding the needle.

sage hears sudden growling and stops focusing on will, looking out the door.

"we gotta go. we gotta go." hopper said then rushed towards will, picking him up, and putting him over his shoulder.

joyce grabs more sedatives and follows hopper out of the room — bob, the twins, and owens following behind the adults. hopper takes a turn and continues to run through the hallway until stopping when he sees a guard get attacked. rapid gunfire was heard from behind them and the adults and teens whip around.

"come on!" hopper calls out and runs into a room, putting will down on a table.

owens shuts and locks the door so none of the creatures could come in.

"oh, my god," bob says as he stares at the surveillance camera screens.

demogorgons walk, slaughter, screech on multiple of the screens. the lights suddenly flicker and within a second, the power goes out.

"oh, my god," joyce whispers and looks around the dark room. "it's official. we're gonna die," sage murmured and held onto her brother.

"YOU'RE POSITIVE THAT WAS DART?" lucas asked dustin as they walked on the railroad tracks with max and steve.

"yes. he had the same exact yellow pattern on his butt." dustin replied. "he was tiny two days ago." max mentioned.

"well, he molted three times already," dustin stated. "malted?" steve asked. "molted," dustin corrected the harrington teen. "shed his skin to make room for more growth like hornworms."

"when's he gonna molt again?" the red-head questioned. "it's gotta be soon. when he does, he'll be fully grown, or close to it. and so will his friends." dustin answered her.

"yeah, and he's gonna eat a lot more than just cats." steve joked. "wait, a cat?" lucas asked, stopping dustin from walking farther.

"dart ate a cat?"

"no, what? no."

"what are you talking about? he ate mews." steve said, genuinely confused. "mews? who's mews?" max asked the harrington teen. "it's dustin's cat." steve replied to her.

"steve!" the henderson teen raised his voice. "i knew it! you kept him!" lucas shouted at dustin, pushing his shoulder back slightly.

"no!" dustin lied. "no. no, i . . . no, i . . . he missed me. he wanted to come home."

"bullshit!"

"i didn't know he was a demogorgon, okay?"

"oh, so now you admit it?"

"guys, who cares? we have to go." max tried stopping the teens argument. "i care! you put the party in jeopardy! you broke the rule of law!" lucas told the mayfield teen and turned to dustin, arguing with him. "so did you!" dustin argued with the sinclair boy.

"what?" lucas asked. "you told a stranger the truth!" dustin mentioned and pointed his flashlight at max. the red-head scoffs. "a stranger?" she questions.

"you wanted to tell her, too!"

"yeah, but i didn't, lucas, okay? i didn't tell her! we both broke the rule of law, okay? so we're even. we're even."

"no, no! we're not even. don't even try that. your stupid pet could have ate us for dinner!"

"that was not my fault!"

"hey guys," steve speaks up, looking at a certain direction. "he wasn't gonna eat us," dustin told lucas, ignoring steve. "oh, so, he was just crawling to come say hello?" lucas asked him.

"guys!" the harrington teen shouted back at the younger teens.

the three teens snap their heads to look over at steve, caught off guard by his yelling. screeching in the distance was heard and steve walked off. lucas and dustin didn't hesitate to follow.

"no, no, no. hey, guys, why are you headed towards the sound?" max asked, staying behind watching them. "hello? hello? shit." the red-head then began to follow her friends.

the four teens make it out of the forest. "i don't see 'em," dustin says.

lucas takes out his binoculars and looks through them, seeing the lab. "it's the lab. they were going back home." lucas said.

"LOOK, THIS IS US, AND THIS IS THE nearest exit." owens explains as he shows the adults the map. "but even if we somehow make it there, there's no way out."

"what do you mean?" hopper asked. "the locks are fail secure." owens stated. "fail secure?" joyce repeated as if she were questioning it.

"if there's a power outage, the building goes on full lockdown." owens tells the adults. "can it be unlocked remotely?" bob then asked.

"with a computer, sure, but somebody's gotta reset the breakers." owens answers. "where are the breakers?" sage asked, joining the conversation. "breakers are in the basement, three floors down." owens told her.

hopper takes the map and begins to walk off.

"hey, where are you going?" bob asked the chief.

"to reset the breakers." hopper said as if it were obvious. "okay, then what?" bob asks him. "then we get out of here." hopper tells him.

"no, then the power comes back on. if you wanna unlock doors, you have to reboot the computer system, and then override the security codes with a manual input." bob explains to the chief.

"fine, how do i do that?"

"you can't. not unless you know BASIC." bob informed him. "i don't know what that means," hopper tells the newby adult. "it's a computer programming language." mike states.

"alright, teach it to me," hopper tells bob. bob scoffs. "shall i teach you french while i'm at it, jim?" the newby adult asks sarcastically. "how about a little german?"

sage lets out a small snort, "get it, bob," mike nudges his sister causing her to look up at him, confused. "what?" she whispers to him.

bob turns around to face owens. "how about you, doc? you speak BASIC?"

"no," owens replies with a sigh.

the newby adult scoffs a little. "okay, i got this. i got this."

"no. bob." joyce whispers to her boyfriend and hugs him tightly. "it's okay," bob assures joyce and let's her go. "it's gonna be okay. remember, bob newby, superhero."

joyce chuckles lightly then allows her boyfriend to leave the room with hopper.

"did you really have to say that?" mike whispers to his sister. "yes, i did. it was funny." sage says and shrugs in response.

A CAR DRIVES UP TO THE GATE OF the hospital. johnathan and nancy get out of the vehicle and look at the building.

"why are the lights off?" johnathan asked. "maybe it's closed?" nancy suggested. "security took the night off?" the older byers teen said.

"i don't think so,"

johnathan shuts his car door closed and walks into the security box, pushing the open button that opens the gates. nancy walks over and sees what he's doing.

"it's not working?" nancy asked. "no! the power's off." johnathan replied, continuing to push random buttons.

"johnathan?" nancy said. "what?" the older byers teen asked, looking up at the older wheeler teen.

rustling of trees were heard in the distance.

"i think there's something in the woods," nancy told the byers teen and began to walk towards the sound. "nancy, stay back," johnathan said and put a hand in front of her, following.

the two high schoolers look out in the distance.

"hello?" johnathan called out. "who's there? who's there?"

steve and the three younger teens walk out of the woods, shocking nancy and johnathan.

"steve?" johnathan and nancy asked in unison.

"nancy?" steve asked.

"johnathan,"

"what are you guys doing here? max?" nancy asked then saw the red-head. "what are you doing here?" steve asked as mayfield girl gave nancy a slight wave.

"we're looking for the twins and will," nancy replied. "they're not in there, are they?" dustin asked, motioning to the lab. "we're not sure," the wheeler teen said.

"why?" johnathan questioned.

just after johnathan asked that, monsters screeching was heard from the lab.

the lights flicker back on inside of the lab, and sage smiles in relief. the twins and adults look at the screen to see bob in the basement.

"he made it," mike whispered in disbelief. "bob newby. superhero." sage mumbled, smiling more then turned to joyce. "i love your boyfriend!"

"sage," mike scolded and nudged his sister.

indistinct chatter goes on outside of the lab by the gate.

"we haven't seen will —"

"i haven't seen him since . . ."

"the power's back," nancy says after she moved away from the small crowd, looking at the lab.

everyone had shut their mouths and immediately rushed to the security box. johnathan runs in the security box, beginning to push the open button.

"let me try," dustin says as he walks in the security box. "hang on —" johnathan tells the younger teen. "let me try, johnathan!" dustin cuts off the byers teen, shoving him away.

the henderson teen repeatedly presses the open button, but nothing happens.

"son of a bitch! you know what . . ."

inside of the lab, owens begins to speak to bob through the walkie.

"okay, bob, can you hear us?" owens asks. "loud and clear, doc," bob replies. "can you hear me back?"

"yeah, we hear you,"

"all right, give me a minute,"

bob puts the walkie down and begins to work on the computer in front of him.

"open sesame."

the newby adult clicks the keyboard and unlocks the first floor doors.

"it's open," owens tells the adults and twins.

sage grabs onto mike's hand, rocking back and forth of her feet. bob, from the basement, continues to unlock more doors — including the gates where the other teens are at.

"hey! i got it!" dustin chuckles when he sees the gate had opened. "i got it!"

"easy-peasy,"

"son of a bitch did it."

"right, i'll meet you outside," bob tells owens from the walkie and begins to walk off. "nice job," owens tells bob with a grin until he sees a creature going down the stairs to the basement.

"hold on a second, chief," owens tells hopper. "what's wrong?" hopper asks, looking at owens.

"west stairwell's not clear anymore,"

"what's going on?" bob asks owens. "we've got some company," owens answers. "where?"

"the west stairwell."

"i got an idea," bob says then walks back to the computer. "what the hell's he doing?" owens asks as he watches bob from the screen.

"okay. and splash."

from another screen, the water sprinkler goes off causing the creature to go back upstairs.

"okay. okay, that worked. now, get out of there."

"and don't forget the gun!" sage added on.

"go! go!"

bob grabs the gun and walks off.

hopper throws will over his shoulder but gets stopped by owens. "wait a second, chief,"

owens gives the walkie to the chief. "take this."

"what are you doing?" hopper asks the doctor. "any more surprises, i'll let you know," owens tells the man. "go. go!"

hopper walks out of the room, holding is gun up to shoot any demogorgons that show up. mike and sage follow behind the man as joyce walks behind the twins.

the five make it to the front and rush to the doors, going outside. hopper gives will to the twins so they can hold him.

"hold him right," hopper tells the twins and fixes the way will is in their arms. "we're holding him right!" sage tells the chief and holds will's legs.

"you got him?" hopper asks them. "we got him," mike replies to hopper.

sage grips onto will and looks inside where joyce was, waiting for bob. all of a sudden the byers woman screams causing the twins to flinch.

hopper doesn't hesitate to run inside where joyce was. the chief aims his gun at the creature that was on top of bob, shooting it.

the wheeler girl looks at her twin. "i'm sorry,"

sage drops will's legs and runs inside.

"sage!" mike shouts at his sister.

the brunette runs inside, gasping once she sees more demogorgons crash through the doors. sage raises her hands, throwing the creature, that was on top of bob off of the man, to the wall.

"go! go! sage, go! joyce!" hopper yells and grabs joyce, pulling her outside. "no!" joyce screams.

sage doesn't listen and keeps using her telekinesis to throw the creatures at the wall. her eyes were an orange-red and her skin had more cracks on them. the wheeler girl glares at one of the creatures running towards her, tilts her head, and blows up the demogorgon.

hopper runs back in and grabs sage, pulling her outside not even acknowledging what the teen just did to the creature.

"what happened?" mike shouted when he saw sage getting dragged out by hopper.

hopper lets go of sage and holds joyce back from running inside the building.

"he's gone! he's gone!" hopper repeats to the byers woman.

"sage, sage, you okay?" mike asks his sister, seeing she was stumbling a little. "i'm fine," she replies and glares at the creatures that were banging on the glass door.

a car honk was heard and johnathan didn't hesitate to yell. "come on! get in!"

hopper takes will as mike helps joyce. sage keeps glaring at the creatures, breathing heavily before two more creatures blow up inside. the wheeler girl blinks, letting out a breath before feeling hopper grab her arm, dragging her away.

"kid? kid, you all right?" hopper asks, sage noticing there was blood on her face and clothes. sage nods. "i'm . . . i'm fine,"

everyone gets in the car, immediately heading to the gate where steve and the younger teens were waiting.

"guys," max says as she walked forward.

johnathan honks his horn in a way of telling the teens to get out of the way. hopper stops so that way steve and the teens can get in.

"let's go. watch out for, sage."

steve opens the door to see a tired, and bloody, sage on the seat. the teenager moves sage to the back, motioning the other teens to get in.

"come on, let's go! let's go! come on!"

steve shuts the door and hopper drives off.
