"We're moving"

| THE WORDS REPLAYED inside your mind again and again like broken record. We'reβ€”what?

"What, but why?" you questioned with a frown.

But aunt Yuriko didn't seem to guess your disapproval toward the decision because she answered with an excited tone, "Oh yes... um..." a noticable blush coated her cheeks. "I got proposed!"

"You what!?" exclaimed Makiko, suddenly with an unpleasant expression on her face. The outburst caused her mother to drop her smile.

"Yeah, Tadashi finally proposed me three days ago.." yet again, her lips were curved up in a smile but her eyes didn't hold the previous sparkle.

Makiko's fist tightened. "And where are we moving to?"

"Nagoya." she answered.

Wait, Nagoya??

"And you expect me to move that far?" she said with a look of disbelief. "That far away from my dad?"

Your aunt frowned and her tone hardened, "Tadashi will soon be your father too and its not like your father is concerned about as much as his other kids."

"Like hell!" she spat angrily. "I would never consider him as my dad!"

Your eyes flickered back and forth between Makiko and your aunt with a sad expression on your face so you finally decided to intervene. "Don't talk to her like that, Makiko."

Makiko's lilac eyes snapped at your direction before she spoke, "And who are you to say that, cousin? This is our family matter so you don't need to intervene because no matter how hard you try, you'll never be a part of it!"

You flinched at her harsh words.

At this point Aunt Yuriko had had enough. She stood up abruptly, slamming both of her hands on the table and narrowed her eyes at her daughter. "I won't tolerate this kind of behaviour in this house, Makiko! Y/N is the part of our family and you won't say otherwise. Got it?"

Makiko too, stood up. Rage clearly dancing in her eyes when she opened her mouth to argue back but Aunt Yuriko beat her into it." Apologize to her, now. " she demanded.

You cursed yourself for speaking up, now you were the cause that both of them were arguing. Maybe what Makiko said was right after all. "it's alright, aunt. I don't mind her words."

But that only seemed to worsen it.

"No. She will apologise to you now."

Should've stayed silent. You thought regretfully.

Makiko's eyes had gotten teary when she spoke, "Ever since she came into our family, you barely ever pay attention to me." she sniffed and blinked, causing the fresh tears to fall down on the back of her palms and the table.

She then pointed her finger at you. "I hate you," then turned it towards her mom, "And you too!" with that she exited the hall and locked herself inside the room, shutting the door behind with a loud slam.

You sweat-dropped. Well that's going to be awkward to tell her to unlock the room since we both share it.

Last night when Makiko refused to unlock the door, you had to blackmail her. The following is what you  said;
"If you don't unlock the door then I'll have to show your texts with your boyfriend to your mom."

And it worked like a charm. Thanks to her for forgetting to take her cellphone with her and having a boyfriend your aunt didn't know about.

Right now you were helping your aunt with chores and that was when you heard her say," Y/N my child, " she glanced at you from the corner of her eyes before continuing, "I have a favour to ask you."

Your eyebrows knitted together. "Uhuh.. I'm listening."

"Makiko wouldn't listen to me. So I was wondering... " she trailed off.

"....That I should convince her?" you completed for her and then added, "Aunt, you know that she hates me, right?"

"I know, but please can you please give a try? Just one try... for me?" she requested.

It was hard to do the job but you had to do it because you yourself didn't wanna move. You let out a great sigh. "Alright. I will do it."

She revealed a thankful smile.

So there you were, standing in front of the bedroom door, ready to knock it.

Knock knock.

"You may come in." you heard Makiko mutter.

Very slowly, you pushed the door open slightly, causing it to make a creaking sound and then leaned on your left foot, peeking inside the room to find Makiko sitting on the bed, texting someone.

She raised her eyes to look at you and shot you a bitter look. "Oh. It's only you."

Don't lash out on her, don't lash out on her. You chanted inside your mind.

Biting back a snarky remark you replied, "Yes it's me and I need to talk to you about somethiβ€”"

"I know what that 'Something' is," she cut you off. "Don't bother."

An irk mark formed on your forehead as your teeth clenched together. "I'm not requesting you, I'm demanding. And for the conversation I need you to be mature about it."

She scoffed and flipped her phone shut. "Fine."

You forced a smile and went to take a seat on the chair beside the desk. "You don't wanna move right?"

"Isn't that what I said last night?" Can she not respond normally?

You closed your eyes shut for a brief moment and inhaled as an attempt to calm yourself down.

You open your eyes. "Well you said a lots of things.. but anyway," at your remark she glanced at her palms which rested on top of her lap.

"I have a plan." you added.

That caused her eyebrow to raise. "What is it?"

Slowly, the corner of your lip tugged up, "You're lucky, because I don't want to move myself," she stared at your face silently so you continued, knowing that she's interested. "How about we both decide to stay here. I'm sure she will allow since we aren't that young."

A small smile flashed on her face but it disappeared just as quickly.

"Sounds good?" you asked.

She nodded. "Count me in."

Well then it's settled.

After the conversation was done, you decided to prepare the assignments.

Why the hell do I have to write a big ass essey on freedom fighters. You scratched your head with the back of the pen which you held.

Guess Baji rubbed off on me because my brain isn't working.

Ring ring

Your eyes darted towards your ringing phone. You reached out for it and flipped it open to look at the caller ID.

Fuyu🍜  is calling...

You quickly received it.

"Yes, Chifuyu?" you heard some background noises.

"Y/N!"

Your eyebrow raised.

"Baji-San's awake!"
