| "Ahane-San?"

"That's me." he spoke with a really small smile, "Missed me?"

You stood dumbfounded, staring at your childhood friend's changed, yet familiar face who had now a stoic expression resting on his face.

You ignored his earlier question and instead, asked, "Why are you in Valhalla?"

He casted his gaze downwards at the filthy floor for a second then locked his dark eyes with your questioning ones. "That's none of your concern." he answered.

You frowned at that.

"I need to talk to you," he glanced at his surroundings as he saw people watching you two with keen eyes, listening to the conversation, "In private." he added.

You nodded reluctantly.

Ahane lifted his hand up and made a signal you couldn't understand but by the expressions of the men around told you that they understood.

"Let's begin!" announced the lanky guy with sheer excitement present on his face and in the tone of his voice. A streak of his blonde hair among his dark one fell in front of his forehead at the action.

Wack!

You jumped as you heard a horrible sound of a fist connecting to someone's face, that someone was Chifuyu and the culprit was no other than Keisuke Baji .

Your eyes widen in anger and in belief.

"Chifuyu!" you watched as the blonde did nothing to protect himself even though you knew he was capable enough to do so. "What the hell do you think are you doing, Baji!?" you yelled, glaring at the raven head as you and stepped forward but before you could enter inside the scene, your hand was grabbed by Ahane's large one as he dragged you away from the crowd.

You attempted to free yourself from his tight grip but it was obviously of no use since he was stronger than you and didn't budge. He released his firm grip from your hand when you two were finally away from the chaos.

"Why are you doing this?" you questioned with a scowl. "Why's Chifuyu getting beaten up?!"

"Don't worry. He'll be fine, he won't die."

You narrowed your eyes into slits as you heard his response, "Wow, that made me feel a lot better, Ahane-San." you replied sarcastically.

"Call me Choji instead," he said ignoring your sarcastic remark, "And as for your question earlier, That's Baji's test of faith."

"'Test of faith?'" you quoted with visible perplexity. Seriously, this situation was getting ridiculous by every passing second.

"We are testing whether he's loyal to us by beating one of his close friend who's a Toman member." he explained as the frown remained fixated upon your face.

"Then why him? Why not me? I'm a Toman member, too, am I not?" you interrogated further wanting to reach the depth of this messy situation.

Ahane heaved a great sigh at that as he said, "That's because you're a girl and I'm against that."

You snorted at that. "That's ridiculous." you said in a bitter tone causing him to arch his dark eyebrow.

"Anyway, now we need to talk about you, Y/N L/N," he said changing the lane of the topic.

"About.. me?" your eyebrows knitted together.

He nodded, "I have a proposal for you."

A proposal? "What is it?" you hoped that it wasn't anything--

"I want you to join Valhalla." he demanded with a blank face, interrupting your thoughts.

--Anything stupid.

You stared at him, dumbfounded. "Excuse me?"

"I want you to join Valhalla, is what I just said." he repeated impatiently.

You let out a humourless chuckle at his audacity. He cannot be serious. How can he expect me to join an enemy gang.

"What's so funny? I did not crack a joke." he uttered with irritation as he bore holes into your e/c colour eyes, you stared back just as sharply.

"Well, are you certain about that? That sounded nothing less than a joke to me," you replied, "Everything about that statement was funny because I, Y/N would never join an enemy gang, such gang as Valhalla." you declared to him.

"You consider me as your enemy?" a hint of disbelief could be found in his voice. You felt kind of bad.

"Err.. well.."

A corner of his lip curled upwards in distaste.

"Do you have any Idea that how hard I tried to get you?" he spoke with clenched jaw as he took a menacing step forward but you remain rooted on the spot, refusing to be intimidated as the confusion washed over your face.

"What are you trying to say?" It felt as though today was the day of disbelieving and shocking news.

"Oh, Y/N." he exaggerated a sigh, shaking his head with slight smile on his face which didn't quite reach his eyes, "Don't you understand? I've liked you since I met you."

You gulped, not sure what appropriate words should be spoken as a response.
Though, you replied nevertheless, "Uh.. I'm sorry to disappoint you, Choji.. but I don't like you," you scanned his face, searching for any hint of emotion on his now blank face, "Platonically? I don't know, I just met you after years but romantically? Absolutely not."

The last sentence seemed to snap something inside him because his previously stoic face morphed into a deadly one, the one which showed nothing but pure rage.

"Do you like someone else?" he asked.

At the question you brain eventually formed an image of that certain long haired boy as it repeated the moments you two shared with each other.

You stared towards the floor and avoided the eye contact as you replied with a, "No."

Perhaps the boy did not believe your words. Strangely and much to his bipolar tendencies, the fake blonde broke into a fit of laughter which caused you to frown deeply at his behavior as you wondered whether he was alright.

The originally raven haired boy finally calmed down as he shot a question at you, "How are your parents doing, by the way?"

The question was out of topic and very strange, the sudden change in his tone caused you to narrow your eyes suspiciously at Choji.

"They're fine." you lied confidently, wanting to know his true intentions behind the strange question.

"You sure? I wouldn't call being dead 'Fine'"

You froze completely on the spot as your pounding heart let itself lose and drop in your stomach which was already twisted up into anxiety.

"H-how do you know?" you took a cautious step back but it didn't make much of a difference because he took one forward.

He neglected your question, "And.. are you sure that car accident was just a mere coincident?"

The blood drained off your face as the corner of Choji's lip lifted up in a smirk.
