"So- update me about everything." I say to Pansy as we walk to the Great Hall for dinner.
"Well, grades are pretty good, happiness seems to be at a high level, and life hasn't slapped me too hard in awhile." She grins happily.
"And might I ask why your happiness is so high? Or should I ask who?" I smirk, raising my eyebrows suggestively at her.
She huffs humorously, nudging me in the shoulder. "Blaise and I are doing fine thanks for asking."
"Oh c'mon," I scoff at her response. "'fine'? That's all I'm getting?"
"Well we've got people around us don't we?" She whispers through gritted teeth, a mischievous tone in her voice.
My mouth gapes open in shock at her tone, before I look her in her eyes. "Have you two...?"
"No! Well- uh.. no. We haven't..." She stutters, clearly unsure of her answer.
I quirk an eyebrow, laughing quietly at her answer. "Love I think you'd know if you did or not."
She huffs humorously at my words, nodding her head slowly. "No, we haven't. The situation is a little... complicated though."
My brows furrow slightly, a sudden panic feeling rising within me. "Is he trying to force you?"
"Oh Merlin no, not at all- really it's the opposite of that." She bites her bottom lip gently, seeming to process the subject.
"So..." I question further, trying to understand what was happening.
"Well... I'm fine with it- really I think it'd be good y'know... but he's not sure. I know he wants to, but his brain has for some reason convinced him that I don't want to do it, so now anytime anything like that gets.. y'know.. close to happening, he backs off and gets all awkward. It's awful." She explains, sighing deeply.
I frown slightly at the explanation, nodding my head.
"And I'm sure you've realized this by now but most pureblood boys are raised to respect women, and would never do something to hurt them physically. Which is great... until their stubborn asses start to show." She continues.
A small chuckle leaves my mouth at her words, knowing exactly what she meant.
We turn the corner leading to the Great Hall only a moment later, our conversation mutually ending by the fact we were now close to the boy we were talking about.
Both of us sit down with Theo, Blaise, and Draco, which was the usual place we sat for meals.
The Slytherin table was always pretty quiet, though every other houses' table filled up the hall with talking.
"Who wants to hear what I did before coming?" Theo suddenly asks, gaining the groups attention.
We all stare at him in silence, waiting for him to tell us.
He presses his lips together at our underwhelming response, disappointment all over his face. He leans over so his head is behind mine.
"Me me! I want to hear!" He pretends to be me, making his voice high pitched and dramatic.
I roll my eyes nudging his shoulder as Blaise and Draco laugh quietly at his action.
"Anyways, since Y/n wants to know so badly, let me explain. I was walking through a corridor, right? And then suddenly-"
"Why are you so dramatic?" Pansy questions, quirking her eyebrow at Theo.
"Shh- anyways, I'm walking through a corridor, when suddenly I see a small child. A small girl child specifically."
"What the hell is a 'girl child'?" I question, interrupting his story again.
"Shhh! So I see this little girl and she is crying, and holding her hand out. So I go up and ask if she's got the mark or something-"
"Theo!" Pansy and I say at the same time, panic clear in our voices, ignoring the small snickers from Draco and Blaise.
"Just kiddingggg," Theo grins stupidly. "Anyways basically Umbridge is carving students' hands or something I don't know."
"She- huh?" I stutter slightly, wishing this boy could at least make a little more sense.
"She's got this magical quill thingy and she makes students who are in detention with her write with it, and whatever they're writing ends up carved into their skin." Theo explains, taking a bite of his food.
Draco and Blaise were no longer laughing, as the situation had just turned much more serious.
"What the actual fuck?" Pansy says, dropping her fork on her plate.
Theo shrugs slightly, taking a sip of his drink.
I bite the inside of my cheek as I process this new news, my hope for the new professor slowly going further and further down.
My eyes quickly glance at the blonde sitting on the other side of me, almost surprised by his eyes already on me. I look away quickly, still trying to process this all.
The group sits in silence for awhile, all of us eating silently though very slowly as this news has disturbed us away from our once large appetite.

I sit on the cold ground, leaning my back against the wall near the Slytherin common room, waiting for Draco so we could discuss who'd take which parts of the castle.
Prefect duty had started becoming a habbit now that I had been doing it for about a month. The only duties I really had though were walking around corridors to check for students out past curfew, and then trying to convince Draco to not take points from houses for no reason.
"Hey," A familiar voice says, a few feet away from me. My brows furrow slightly at the slightly strained version of the voice I knew well.
"Hi-" I turn my head to look at the blonde, though my breath hitches as I see him. "Merlin Draco what the hell did you do?" I ask, standing up quickly.
As soon as I had seen him, my eyes found a long cut on his cheek with some slightly dry blood around it, and his hair was messy too.
"It's fine." He says stiffly, a calm but also angry tone in his voice.
"There is blood dripping down your face, I don't think you're fine," I bite my bottom lip nervously, raising my hand to inspect his face more.
He grabs my hand before I can touch him, exhaling deeply. "I'm fine."
I glare at him, not breaking eye contact as I yank my hand out of his grip. "You're not fucking fine. C'mon." I say, beginning to walk.
I don't hear footsteps following me for a few seconds, making it clear he had no intentions of following me.
"I'll curse you if you don't follow me Malfoy," I look behind me, watching him scoff angrily before he begins to follow me.
We walk for a few minutes, no words said between us.
Once I arrive at the girls bathroom, I open the door, gesturing for him to go inside.
"I'm not allowed in." He furrows his eyebrows, slipping his hands into his pockets.
"Nobody goes in here anyways," I gesture once again for him to go inside, getting sick of his attitude.
With a deep and angry exhale, he walks in the bathroom, inspecting the place.
I close the door slowly, making sure not to make any noise as we technically weren't supposed to be here.
"Why not?" He asks, his voice echoing slightly in the giant empty space.
"Why not what?" I furrow my brows, my mind blanking on what we had just talked about as I walk to the line of sinks.
"Why does no one come in here?"
"Moaning Myrtle," I state plainly, wetting some paper towels as he slowly walks over to me.
"Ah, I see." He nods, taking slow steps towards me, his hands in his pockets.
"Sit." I say, turning to look at him and patting on one of the sinks.
He huffs humorously, an arrogant smile growing on his face. "I'm not an animal, Y/l/n. Try again."
I narrow my eyes angrily at him. "Could you please sit on this sink so that I can fix the disaster you've made on your face." I say overly friendly, a fake smile upon my lips.
He smirks, quirking his eyebrow. "Better." He says before walking over and lifting himself up onto the edge of the sink.
I unfold the wet paper towel, inspecting his injuries. The cut on his cheek wasn't deep, but it was clearly pretty fresh, which was obvious because he hadn't had it at dinner.
"How'd it happen?" I ask, as I lean my head to look at the other side of his face. He had a pretty bad bruise on his right cheekbone, and his bottom lip had a small slit in it.
"A fight," He mumbles, wincing at the cold paper towel on his cut.
I hold his chin with one hand, making sure he stays still, as my other hand tends to his face. "Over?"
"Things," He sighs quietly, his eyes avoiding mine.
"What things?" I push his answer further, taking a step closer in between his legs to look closer at the cut.
He clears his throat awkwardly. "A boy was saying some disrespectful things,"
I move my head to look him in his eyes, exhaling deeply. "Some kind of story would be helpful, rather than just hints."
He looks in between my eyes for a moment, his stiff body relaxing slightly. "Theo, Blaise, and I were walking to the common room after dinner, and we heard this boy."
I nod slowly, continuing to wipe the blood off his cheek.
"He was saying some fucked up things about..." He pauses, inhaling sharply. "About you and Pansy."
I pause the wiping, slowly moving to look back into his eyes.
"Blaise and I overheard. I would've done much more damage if Theo hadn't stopped us after a minute."
"Oh." Is all I can say at first. "What um- what was he saying?"
Draco shakes his head immediately, his body becoming stiff again. "I'm not fucking repeating him."
My lips turn into a slight frown, feeling worse for Draco rather than mad at the boy in this moment.
"Then tell me who it was at least,"
Draco sighs. "Williams."
It took me a moment to realize who he was talking about before it hits me. Oscar Williams, Hufflepuff, apart of the sacred twenty-eight pureblood families. He was always quite "famous" with the ladies, though not at all in a respectful way.
A small frustrated huff leaves me, shaking my head slowly with disbelief. "What did he say?"
"Y/n, I'm not repeating it."
"Shove your fucking pride away Draco, I deserve to know what he was saying." My brows furrow angrily, a strong sense of anger rising within me.
He hangs his head low, looking at me through his eyelashes as he hesitates to say it.
"He just- Merlin I dont know Y/n, boys think weirdly. Much different than girls. He was just explaining how you and Pansy had grown into... beautiful girls." He mumbles the last part, clearly lying.
I scoff, setting the paper towel down and crossing my arms. "You beat him up for calling us beautiful?"
His tongue pokes the inside of his cheek as he avoids eye contact.
I roll my eyes, slowly becoming more annoyed with him. "If you don't tell me, I'm going to go get Blaise right now and get it out of him instead." I take a step back, no longer in between his legs.
"Sluts." Draco suddenly says, raising his head to look at me. "Fucking sluts he wants to fuck from behind until your pretty voices are screaming his name." He continues, jumping off the of the sink.
My lips part in disbelief, as I cross my arms uncomfortably over my chest.
We stare at each other in silence for an uncomfortable amount of time, as I process what I've just found out.
"Did you know he also pretended to moan as if he were you? Yeah," Draco huffs angrily. "He did exactly that. Pretending you'd beg him for more as if he'd ever even spoken to you."
My eyes slowly fall to the ground as the news takes over my mind.
Draco inhales sharply before he begins to leave the bathroom, a quickness in his steps.
I felt a punch in my stomach at this. Not physically, just emotionally.
I wanted to scream for him to come back so I could take some sort of comfort in him, but I knew he was in no sort of mood to do that, so I resist it. I resist the urge to call his name. I resist the urge to run up and hug him. I resist the overwhelming urge for comfort.
Instead I take a deep, shaky breath in, lifting my chin up and pushing my shoulders back, as a plan of revenge plots in my head.
