Everything was back to normal. Yashiro and Aoi were talking to you, you were doing fine in your studies, and you were enjoying your time at the club. Life was quiet, and peaceful, you were getting enough sleep and doing just fine! How happy you were about this serene life.
"Mokke-chan, everything is so serene and peaceful, I never want it to change. But there's something on my mind. What do I do..now that I know I'm a ghost like you?" you reached out and gently poked the Mokke in where you thought would be its stomach and sighed.
"I'm dead..actually dead. And yet everyone can see me. I don't know what to do with this information. I don't want to tell anyone in fear of them getting scared and leaving me alone. But at the same time I know I need some help..." you confided into the quiet pink creature.
It blinked a few times and tilted its little head. You smiled softly, marvelling at its innocence. "I wish I could be more carefree like Tsu-chan, know how to speak my mind like Sakura-chan, and have confidence like Natsuhiko-senpai. But I have none of that.." you looked down at your lap.
You were a lonely person, always nervous and finding comfort in things that don't involve other people's company. You've always been in the shadows, and thought of yourself as an average person with no special qualities. And..always relies on their friends and classmates.
"Nene-chan can see ghosts..does that mean she'll be able to see me even after I tell her anything about me being dead? Didn't someone tell me it's a matter of belief? They can only see me because I believe I'm alive..." you wondered to yourself, furrowing your eyebrows.
The Mokke handed you a piece of candy, and you happily took it. You quietly thought to yourself as you fiddled with the wrapper. 'This means I'm a School Wonder. Do I have to..claim some title in order to be that? This is so confusing and-' you heard the door open and someone come in.
Your eyes widened when you recognized the girl's pure white hair. She stared at you, her eyes not holding the gentleness they once did. "Yu-Yui..?" you mumbled, recalling how the girl had been thrown into one of the doors. She averted her eyes, not wanting to talk to you.
"I want your position as a School Wonder because they're so great and powerful, " she began speaking, causing you to look directly at her. "I've always been a powerless spirit, who wanted more than to be just a outcast. I wanted that power..that position, " Yui continued on.
"I've always been alone, mocked for not being the best I could be. So when I saw you didn't even know that you were a powerful School Wonder, I just knew that I needed to steal your position from you..." Yui clutched her uniform, squeezing her eyes shut at the bad memories.
"Yu-chan..how- how can people see you?" you decided to ask, not exactly ready to show your sympathy yet. "I just made myself seen. It's possible if you believe. And you..you know you're dead, so people may no longer see you.." Yui explained, and you gasped quietly.
"That- That can't be true! How do I stop this!?" you cried desperately. Yui just stared at you. "There's no way to stop it. You're dead, get over yourself.." she grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder. You watched as the girl opened the door and ran out with a fallen look.
"N-No..Yui has lied to me before. How do I know this isn't another one of her lies!? I'm sure the others can still see me!" you convinced yourself, trying not to get pessimistic. You looked down at your arm for no reason, and noticed something. You gasped and back away violently.
Your arm..it was growing transparent. It was fusing into the air! "What's..What's happening? Am I becoming a real ghost!?" you panicked to yourself. Tears brimmed at the corners of your eyes, the fear overwhelming you terribly. You wiped your tears, wanting to forget everything.
"I should just..go home. I'm sure this will all go away tomorrow. A good sleep has always helped me..!" you packed your bags and ran out of the classroom, determined to find out what was happening to you. You saw Aoi talking to Akane on the way, and decided to say 'hi'.
"Hey, Aoi-chan! How are your exam preperations going?" you asked. But she didn't respond, or even looked at all fazed by your presence. "Aoi-chan? Hey, don't ignore me!" you tried to laugh it off. But she just kept paying no mind to you. You were a bit taken aback by her actions.
You reached out to touch her shoulder. "Aoi-chan..." you said. But Aoi kept on talking. Even Akane didn't notice you there. "You guys..?" you slowly backed away. They were ignoring you. Did you do anything wrong? You didn't recall making any mistakes that would upset them.
But then you remembered your transparent arm, and how this only started happening after you found out you were Ichigo-san. You clutched your uniform, your eyes widening when you realized what might be the case. You started running away, fear enveloping you.
Were you..turning into a real ghost?
You didn't stop running until you reached the girls' bathroom. You slipped inside and nervously knocked on third stall of the bathroom. "L/N?" you heard Hanako's voice behind you. "Ah! Hanako-kun! But I didn't..summon you yet?" you looked at him then at the stall.
"L/N, is something wrong?" he asked, worry laced in his voice. "Hanako-kun..I think I'm becoming a real ghost!" your worries rolled off your tongue. Hanako stayed silent, taking your words into careful consideration. "I see you've accepted it, L/N.." he sighed quietly.
"Accepted..?" you questioned slowly. "You ARE a ghost. I've known from the start. I just didn't want to consider it so soon. These are the characteristics of a spirit, and you're just experiencing it, L/N.." Hanako's playful tone was gone, and he sounded very serious. It scared you.
"I..." you didn't want to believe it. You were dead..and now you were experiencing it. What about your parents, would they be able to see you? And what about school? You clutched your bag strap and slowly walked out of the bathroom, ignoring Hanako calling your name.
