Chan hadn't looked this happy in a very long time, as Woojin was fast to discover.

Lately, the Hufflepuff had been so used to seeing the drained and tired face of the friend, that now to see a cheerful smile with joyful eyes felt almost strange.

When the friend had explained him the reason behind that sudden wave of happiness, Woojin had tried his best to act surprised. In reality, from the very moment in which he had grasped Yeji looking at Chan, he had immediately guessed that something was about to go down.

And, as always, he hadn't been wrong.

Overall, he was pretty content with how things had gone: a girlfriend was something the friend had a terrible need of โ€“ Chan had been so drained out that a distraction couldn't have but helped him. Besides, he had found out that the Gryffindor was much more treatable when in a relationship โ€“ he had even forgotten about the whole discussion with the Headmistress!

"It's such a nice night, isn't it?" Chan was suddenly finding everything nice. "So calm!"

Woojin nodded, but didn't answer: he had never been a man of many words, but Chan knew him well enough as to not get offended if his questions didn't always get a reply.

They turned into yet another corridor: their patroll didn't feel like anything new, and everything around them was so silent Woojin even found himself thinking that their presence there might not even be needed.

But the Head Boy was just only about to discover how wrong he was to believe that.

"Oof, I literally haven't felt this great in a very long time! We should celebrate, Woo, we really should. How about having a quick stop at the kitchens? The School's Elves should be already in there, cooking breakfast, and I bet they would give us a bottle of Firewhisky if we asked politely. What do you th-?"

Woojin, however, never got around answering the Gryffindor's question.

The sound of loud and very quick steps (it definitely looked like the people they belonged to were running), unexpectedly came from a nearby corridor.

The two friends sent confused looks to the other, but they were too seasoned to linger in the middle of the corridor, doing nothing, for too long.

Without even confronting one another, they changed their path to go towards the source of the noise.

"Binnie! No! I'm sure they're somewhere else! None would choose to patroll the Transfiguration corridor willingly!" they heard a voice saying โ€“ or rather, anxiously yelling.

"Well, come up with something then, Mr. Genius! It's not like they'll suddenly appear out of thin air, you know. The least we can do is to keep searching!" replied another voice, more irritated than anything but just as loud.

"What is going on here?" Woojin and Chan had basically reached the two students โ€“ and it was clear that it had been the two to make all that noise, as no one else was around.

The boy who had talked first turned around, and met the Hufflepuff's eyes. As suspected, it was Hwang Hyunjin: who else could've been around on a boring tuesday night, if not Hogwarts' best renowned pranksters? As he was facing the boy, Woojin had the chance to see every different expression his face took on: from shock, to fear, and then to pure delight โ€“ which struck him as highly unusual at first, as the two were usually very careful as to not get caught (he and Chan had actually never managed to), and seeking for the two Head Boys at past midnight was not exactly something a student would be eager to do.

"Binnie! Found them! See that I was not wrong? I knew we'd find them here!" he said excitedly.

The other one spoke up: "Hyunjin, you literally just said you didn't believe we'd find them here-"

"Yes yes, it's whatever" the boy named Hyunjin covered the distance that still parted the two duos, and grabbed Chan (the closest) by the wrist. "C'mon!" he said then, "an emergency is happening! Gotta act quick!"

Woojin, perplexed, was about to reply, but he was not given the chance.

"Do you think they've met?" Y/n was anxiously playing with Seungmin's fingers. "They should have by now..."

The Slytherin took the girl's hand to make her stop. "C'mon, stop worrying so much over it! They're most likely doing just fine, and it's not like they'll end up killing each other anyway".

"You underestimate Jisung! That boy could literally set himself on fire when he gets too nervous!"

"Well, in that case, let us not worry: the smell of ash will undoubtedly reach us. And besides, Minho is able to perform one of those watery squirty spurty spells".

"Watery squirty spurty spells?" Y/n had to laugh at that. "Do they even exist?"

Seungmin looked indignant. "Of course they do! I mean โ€“ I may not remember exactly how they're called, but I remember studying them in-"

The boy, however, did not finish the sentence: a strange feeling had in fact gone through his body; it had been almost as if a jiggly, slimy substance had crossed it: "The fuck-"

But the answer did not wait long to come: a shrieking voice, sounding very lamenting, suddenly cried: "They threw me out! They threw me out of my bathroom!"

This time, Y/n really had to restrain herself from laughing: "Don't worry Seungmin, it's just Moaning Myrtle!" she explained, trying to sound as chill as possible.

"Moaning Myrt-?" following the Gryffindor's gaze, the boy looked up, and saw for himself who Y/n was talking about. "I โ€“ oh".

The ghost, still complaintful, went on: "Oh, poor me! First I get killed, then expelled! Oh, how dreadful! To send one away from their home!"

"And โ€“ excuse me โ€“ but where is your home?" Seungmin sounded more surprised than anything, which Y/n was grateful for: she didn't really want to undergo a full Moaning-Myrtle-moaning session.

"It's the girls' bathroom, that on the second floor" she said quickly, before the ghost could speak.

Seungmin nodded. "And why would they expel you? I mean โ€“ you're a ghost, it's not like they can actually send you away..."

"You don't understand!" if ghost could cry, that was exactly what Y/n would've said Moaning Myrtle was doing. "Oh, so impolite! So rude! So... ill-matured!"

By then, the boy was covering his ears with both hands. "Well, I technically am not wrong, so you'd better chill, God!"

Y/n didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Instead, she turned to the ghost once again, and asked, as politely as she could: "Excuse my friend, Myrtle โ€“ he has never heard of you, I am sure. But tell us โ€“ what has happened? Do you want us to come with you and help?"

Moaning Myrtle quickly back-flipped in midair. "Oh, I should like to see you help me! It's not like you'd do any good against a giant snake, you kno-"

"A what?" the two's voices screamed at once. "What do you mean, a giant snake?"

Suddenly more cheerful (Y/n had to roll her eyes โ€“ it was classic Myrtle behavior to get happy in front of people's misfortunes), the ghost started explaining: "A snake that's bigger than usual, obviously! It broke into the bathroom, and opened a secret passage to the Chamber of Secrets!" here, both Seungmin and Y/n looked at each other, completely shocked: they knew of the existence of the Chamber, naturally, but would've never guessed that the entrance was in a girls' bathroom, "Two boys followed it, but quite frankly, i'll be surprised to see them come back!" and she laughed.

"Who are they?" Y/n's more motherly side immediately jumped out: it could be other Prefects, for all she knew, or the two Head Boys...

"Oh, I don't know!" the ghost giggled. "One was extremely handome though, and he was fast! Plus, I've never seen a better proportioned body..."

"Minho!" Seungmin yelled in fear.

"And what about the other?" Y/n asked urgently, but more as a confirmation, for she already suspected who it might be...

"And do you really expect me to look at every single student in this School?" Myrtle's tone was most derisory. "I only know he wore a red jumper, with dark hair... wait โ€“ maybe they were brown... I don't quite remember..."

But these last words were not heard by neither Y/n nor Seungmin: the two, in fact, were already rushing towards the girls' bathroom โ€“ that on the second floor.
