It was a lazy Saturday morning, and the castle was quiet except for the occasional shuffle of footsteps echoing down the corridors. Y/N had spent most of the night wrapped up in Mattheo's thick, plush comforter, which smelled faintly of his cologne. It had become a comforting presence over the last few weeks, especially when she needed a bit of space and warmth.
Feeling restless, Y/N pushed the covers off her body, her feet meeting the cold stone floor. She grabbed the comforter, wrapping it tightly around her like a cocoon. The fabric pooled at her feet as she waddled out of Mattheo's private dorm and into the hallway, her movements slow and awkward as she tried to maneuver through the narrow spaces with the comforter enveloping her like a blanket fort.
With every step, the comforter threatened to trip her up, but she didn't mind. It was warm, soft, and, in that moment, all she needed. The common room was just down the hall, but the journey felt like an eternity as she waddled, giggling softly to herself.
When she finally reached the common room, Y/N didn't bother with any formalities. She flopped onto one of the large couches in front of the fire with a satisfying thud, the comforter spilling over her like a sea of warmth and fluff. She buried her face in the fabric, a grin playing on her lips as she let out a sigh of contentment.
"I swear," she muttered to herself, "I'm not even going to get up until someone forces me."
It wasn't long before Mattheo entered, his tall frame filling the doorway as he looked at her, chuckling. "You look ridiculous," he said, though there was a softness to his voice as he made his way over to the couch.
Y/N tilted her head up, her eyes half-lidded from her comfortable, almost lazy state. "But you love me anyway," she quipped.
Mattheo smirked, sitting beside her and tugging the comforter from her grasp, his warm hand brushing against hers. "I'd say you look cozy, but ridiculous might be more accurate." He pulled the comforter over both of them, settling in with her in his arms.
Y/N sighed, content to just stay there, hidden in the warmth and comfort of his embrace. "I'm staying here all day," she declared with a small yawn, "unless you drag me somewhere."
"Don't tempt me," Mattheo whispered, and Y/N simply snuggled deeper, knowing that, at least for now, there was no place she'd rather be.
