Y/N was curled up on the couch in the Slytherin common room, sound asleep, her head resting on a plush pillow, the soft firelight casting shadows across her face. The room was quiet, save for the occasional crackling of the flames. Mattheo, Enzo, and Blaise had long since left, leaving only Theo and Y/N behind. She had been exhausted from the day's training and had drifted off without realizing it.

Theo sat nearby, flipping through a book with a bored look on his face. As he glanced over at her, a mischievous smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. He couldn't resist. Quietly, he leaned forward and poked her side, just to see if she'd react.

Y/N shot up immediately, her eyes snapping open, and without thinking, her arm flew out, locking Theo's in a quick, practiced move. It wasn't until Theo's startled gasp filled the room that she realized what she had done. Her eyes widened, panic flooding her system as she quickly released his arm.

"Shit! Theo!" she exclaimed, her voice laced with concern as she realized it was him. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean toβ€”"

Theo gritted his teeth, clearly trying to hide the pain, his arm bent at an awkward angle. "What the hell, Y/N? Did you justβ€”break my arm?"

She scrambled to sit up, completely flustered. "I-I didn't mean it, I swear! It's just... instinct. I was half asleep. I... I've been trained to defend myself in my sleep, andβ€”"

"Clearly," Blaise's voice cut through the tension, causing both of them to look over. He was standing in the doorway with a raised eyebrow. "Theo, you might want to stop poking people while they're napping."

Mattheo entered next, his eyes flickering between Theo and Y/N. He froze for a second when he saw Theo's arm, his expression going from casual to serious. "What happened?"

Theo groaned, clutching his arm, but his gaze softened when he looked at Y/N. "I was being an idiot, poking her while she was asleep. No harm done, I'll survive."

Y/N's face flushed with embarrassment as she stood, rushing over to Theo. "Are you sure you're okay? I canβ€”" She stopped herself before she could say more, realizing she was already over-explaining. Mattheo's eyes narrowed as he watched, protective instincts kicking in.

"I'm fine," Theo grunted, still wincing slightly but grinning now. "Just don't attack me in my sleep again, yeah?"

Mattheo's protective streak flared up. "Y/N, don't do that next time. You could hurt someone." His tone softened when he glanced at her. "But I know it's not your fault. Just, be more aware next time."

Y/N nodded, feeling guilty. "I'm really sorry, Theo. I didn't even realize what was happening. I thought it was some kind of threat."

Theo raised his hands in mock surrender. "It's alright. I should've known better than to mess with someone like you."

Blaise shook his head with a smirk. "Well, now we know. Y/N's asleep defense mechanism is lethal."

Mattheo shot Blaise a glare. "Not helping, Blaise."

Theo chuckled. "Alright, alright. Just... next time, maybe let me know when I'm messing with you. I'll keep my distance."

Y/N laughed nervously, rubbing the back of her neck. "Deal. I'll be sure to put up a sign next time I nap."

Mattheo gave her a half-smile, wrapping an arm around her shoulders as he guided her back to the couch. "Let me know if you need anything, yeah?"

Y/N leaned into him, grateful for his calming presence. "Thanks, Mattheo. And Theo... I really am sorry."

"Don't worry about it," Theo replied with a grin, rubbing his arm but clearly not holding a grudge. "Justβ€”no more surprise attacks."
