It was a typical Friday night in the Slytherin common room. The fire crackled softly in the hearth, casting a warm glow over the room. Y/N and Mattheo were curled up on one of the couches, an easy silence between them as they flipped through their schoolwork. Their friends, Theo, Blaise, Enzo, and Draco, were scattered around the room, casually chatting and lounging.

Y/N had her head resting on Mattheo's shoulder, content, but still aware of everything around her. It was just the way she liked it. Quiet, calm, with the subtle presence of her friends. Until she walked in.

A girl Y/N hadn't seen before, with sleek black hair and a body that screamed confidence. She was looking around, searching for someone. Her eyes landed on Mattheo, and Y/N immediately tensed.

"Hey, Mattheo!" the girl called out, her voice too sweet for Y/N's liking. "I hope I'm not interrupting."

Mattheo, ever the gentleman, turned to her and offered a polite smile. "Not at all. Can I help you?"

The girl moved a little closer, her eyes lingering on Mattheo. "Actually, yeah," she said, her tone teasing. "I was wondering if you'd like to grab a coffee or something later. You know, we could talk about... anything." She let the words hang in the air, clearly trying to get some sort of reaction.

Y/N's grip on Mattheo's hand tightened. She could feel her pulse quicken, irritation bubbling up inside her. The girl was way too forward, way too familiar. She'd seen enough of it in her life to know exactly what this was.

Mattheo, thankfully, kept his composure. He smiled, but his eyes remained distant. "I'm actually busy. But thank you."

Y/N thought that would be the end of it. She really did. She had seen girls flirt with Mattheo before, and as long as it didn't go too far, she'd been able to keep her cool. But this girl? She wasn't done.

The girl smiled slyly, taking a step closer to Mattheo. "Well, if you ever change your mind... I could make time for you. I'm sure we'd have a lot of fun," she said, brushing her hair over her shoulder, looking down at Mattheo in that wayβ€”like she was entitled to his attention.

Something in Y/N snapped. The way the girl was leaning in, the way she was invading their spaceβ€”she was crossing a line. She could feel the heat rising in her chest, a familiar tingling sensation at the back of her neck that warned her she was about to lose her cool.

Without thinking, Y/N stood up, her eyes blazing. "I don't think he's interested," she said, cutting the girl off, her voice colder than ice.

The girl turned to face Y/N, her lips curving into a sarcastic smile. "And what, you're going to stop me from talking to him?" she sneered. "You think you own him or something?"

Y/N didn't flinch. "I don't need to own him to know when someone's crossing a line," she shot back, taking a step forward.

Mattheo, now aware of how tense the situation was getting, opened his mouth to intervene. But before he could say a word, the girl snapped. "Oh, please," she said, her eyes flicking over Y/N with disdain. "You really think you're the only one who could get someone like him?" Her words were laced with venom, and she took a step closer to Mattheo, almost brushing her shoulder against his.

That was the moment. Y/N's patience shattered.

"Don't you dare," she muttered under her breath, but it was loud enough for the girl to hear.

The girl, thinking Y/N was too scared to act, pushed her luck, leaning even closer to Mattheo. "You really are a lucky girl," she mocked, her voice dripping with false sweetness.

Y/N was done. She shoved the girl back, a forceful push that knocked her a few steps away. The room went silent.

"Don't touch him," Y/N snapped, her voice low but dangerous.

The girl's face contorted in anger. "What the hell is your problem?" she shouted, her face going red. Before Y/N could react, the girl's hand shot out, shoving her in return.

Y/N's anger flared like wildfire. In a split second, she lunged forward, tackling the girl to the floor. The girls' fists collided with each other, and the room erupted in chaos. There were grunts, slaps, and more than a few curses as they rolled around, each trying to get the upper hand.

Mattheo, watching in disbelief, immediately stood to his feet. "Y/N!" he shouted, but Y/N was too far gone. She wasn't thinking anymore; she was acting purely on instinct, protecting what was hers.

The boys exchanged uneasy glances, none of them sure of what to do.

"Should we stop them?" Theo asked, looking at Mattheo, whose eyes were locked on Y/N.

Mattheo stood frozen for a moment, his jaw tight. He didn't want Y/N to get hurt, but he was undeniably proud of her. This girl had crossed a line, and Y/N wasn't about to let her get away with it. He took a step toward the fight, but just as he was about to intervene, Y/N threw a well-placed punch that landed square on the girl's cheek.

"Enough!" Mattheo finally shouted, his voice sharp and commanding.

Y/N froze, her fist poised in midair, and the girl, still on the floor, rubbed her cheek, glaring at Y/N like she wanted to rip her apart.

The room was silent except for the crackling fire. Y/N stood over the girl, chest heaving, her adrenaline still pumping. She wiped a trickle of blood from her lip and stood up, pulling herself to her full height, never breaking eye contact with the girl.

"You don't mess with me, or with Mattheo," Y/N said, her voice cold and cutting. "Go find someone else to bother."

The girl, humiliated and furious, scrambled to her feet. She shot a look of pure hatred at Y/N, then turned on her heel and stormed out of the common room, the door slamming shut behind her.

Y/N took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. She turned to face Mattheo, whose eyes were soft, a small smile tugging at his lips.

"You good?" he asked quietly.

Y/N nodded, offering a small, amused smile. "I'm fine. Are you?"

Mattheo chuckled, pulling her into a tight hug. "I'm lucky you're on my side."

The boys were still staring, wide-eyed, at the two of them. "Did... did Y/N just beat someone up over Mattheo?" Draco asked, his tone incredulous.

"Yeah," Blaise said, shaking his head. "And she won. Pretty sure that girl won't be coming back anytime soon."

Enzo laughed, clearly impressed. "I always knew you were tough, Y/N, but that was something else."

Y/N just smirked. "I don't let anyone mess with the people I care about."

Mattheo smiled at her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "I'll keep that in mind."

"You better," Y/N replied teasingly, her arms wrapping around him as she settled back onto the couch. The boys continued to talk amongst themselves, but no one dared to mention the fight again. It was clear that Y/N was not someone to be messed with, and that anyone who dared to cross herβ€”or Mattheoβ€”would regret it.

The tension in the Slytherin common room was palpable as Y/N stood over the girl she'd just knocked to the floor. The girl was glaring at her, rubbing her cheek, her chest rising and falling with fury. She hadn't expected thisβ€”no one ever did when they messed with Y/N. The air was thick with silence, everyone watching, waiting for what would happen next.

The girl, still simmering with anger, shot a venomous look at Y/N. "You're crazy," she spat, still kneeling on the floor. "You're pathetic, thinking you can keep him all to yourself."

Y/N raised an eyebrow, not breaking her gaze for a second. "He's not your problem," she said coldly, her tone a warning.

The girl opened her mouth to say something, but Y/N was done with her. With a sharp exhale, she turned to Mattheo, who had been watching the whole situation unfold with a mix of concern and pride in his eyes. His gaze softened as Y/N approached him, her hand reaching for his.

Without warning, Y/N pulled him closer to her, her eyes locking with his. Without giving him a chance to speak, she kissed him, pressing her lips to his firmly. The kiss was deliberate, unapologeticβ€”a clear statement that Mattheo was hers and no one else's.

The room seemed to freeze, and the girl's face twisted with frustration and jealousy, her lips pressing tightly together as she watched them. Y/N didn't care. She wasn't about to let this girl think she had a chance.

Mattheo, momentarily taken by surprise, quickly melted into the kiss. He felt Y/N's fire, her need to assert her place beside him, and he couldn't help but smile against her lips, his arms wrapping around her.

When Y/N finally pulled away, she let her lips curl into a teasing smirk as she looked down at the girl. "Still think you've got a shot?" she asked, her voice sweet, but with a sharp edge.

The girl's face was red with anger, her mouth agape, but she said nothing. She just turned on her heel, stomped to the door, and left with a huff, her pride thoroughly bruised.

Y/N, feeling satisfied, glanced up at Mattheo, whose expression was a mix of amusement and admiration. He raised an eyebrow. "That was bold," he said, his voice low and teasing. "But I have to admit, I liked it."

Y/N winked at him, grinning. "I know you did." She leaned in again, brushing her lips against his cheek. "I'm not about to let anyone think they can have what's mine."

Mattheo chuckled, pulling her back into his arms. "You don't have to worry about that," he said softly. "You've got me wrapped around your finger."

The boys, still in shock, exchanged looks before Enzo broke the silence, his grin wide. "Well, that was definitely one way to deal with it."

Theo, still processing the boldness of the whole situation, laughed under his breath. "Y/N's not one to back down, that's for sure."

Blaise, who was usually the quiet one, smirked. "I think that girl learned a valuable lesson tonight."

Y/N, leaning against Mattheo, crossed her arms and shrugged nonchalantly. "No one messes with my boyfriend like that."

Mattheo smiled, his hand tracing small circles on her back. "Good thing you're mine then."

"Damn right," Y/N replied with a smile, her eyes sparkling. She wasn't just confidentβ€”she was secure in who she was and in her place by Mattheo's side. And tonight, she'd made sure everyone knew it.
