It was a quiet night in the expansive mansion that Mattheo called home. The house, though large and grand, felt warm and intimate when Y/N was with him. The fire in the hearth crackled softly, casting flickering shadows on the stone walls, while the distant sounds of the outside world seemed muffled by the thick walls of the mansion. The rich scent of old wood, leather, and the lingering aroma of the evening's dinner filled the air.

Y/N sat beside Mattheo, his arm draped around her as they lounged in their shared sitting room. The room, much like the rest of the mansion, had an almost ancient feel to itβ€”furnishings that looked as though they'd been passed down through generations, thick rugs and tapestries decorating the floor and walls. It was home to them now, even though the mansion had once been filled with darkness. Together, they had transformed it into a sanctuaryβ€”a place of peace, love, and warmth.

Mattheo had fallen asleep beside her, his head resting against the back of the couch, a faint smile on his lips as he slept soundly. Y/N didn't want to disturb him; the weight of the day had clearly worn him out, and he deserved the rest.

She stared into the fire, lost in her thoughts. The crackling of the flames was the only sound, filling the space with a comforting hum. The weight of their lives together felt so surreal, yet so right. They had been through so muchβ€”fought so hard to stay by each other's sideβ€”and now, here they were, married, living together in this beautiful mansion.

Y/N absentmindedly traced her fingers over the pattern of Mattheo's shirt, her heart full of love.

She didn't know how long she had been lost in her thoughts when Mattheo suddenly shifted beside her. His voice, soft and unintelligible at first, broke the silence of the room.

"I promise, Y/N," Mattheo murmured in his sleep, his words slow and low, as though spoken from a distant dream. "I'll always love you... always protect you. You're my everything. Forever."

Y/N froze, her heart leaping in her chest. She wasn't sure if it was the sound of his voice or the words themselves, but it felt like a deep bond between them. He was asleep, yet the sincerity and emotion in his words were so realβ€”so genuine. The words seemed to hang in the air between them, filling the room with warmth.

She leaned forward slightly, watching his face in the dim light. His features were relaxed, eyes closed, lost in the depths of whatever dream he was having. She smiled softly to herself. It wasn't often that he let his guard down like this, especially not with promises so heartfelt. His sleep-murmured vows left her feeling more connected to him than ever.

"I'm here, Mattheo," she whispered into the quiet, pressing her fingers gently against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath her palm. "I'm here, always."

As if drawn to her touch, Mattheo shifted again, pulling her closer in his sleep. His arm tightened around her waist, and he muttered once more, his voice slightly more audible this time. "I'll always choose you, Y/N. No matter what happens, you're the one. The only one for me. Always."

Y/N's breath caught in her throat. The words echoed through her mind, leaving her speechless. She'd always known how deeply Mattheo cared for her, but hearing it like this, unguarded and raw, made her heart swell. She let out a quiet, soft laugh, the kind that was born from overwhelming emotion.

"You don't have to promise that, love," she murmured, her fingers brushing through his hair. "You've already chosen me. You always have."

Her chest tightened with affection as she curled closer into him, her head resting on his shoulder. She could feel the warmth of his skin, his steady breath against her ear. He shifted again, pulling her even closer, the familiar scent of his cologne mixed with the lingering traces of the fire filling her senses.

She closed her eyes, content in his arms. Her fingers gently traced the lines of his tattoos, the ones she had memorized over time, as her mind wandered. She couldn't help but think about how far they had come, how much they had overcome together. This mansion, their home, was just the physical manifestation of their bond. It was a reflection of everything they had builtβ€”a life full of love, loyalty, and promises.

Mattheo's voice broke the silence once more, soft and dreamy. "I'll never let you go, Y/N. You're mine. Forever."

Her heart ached with the intensity of his words. She hadn't expected this from himβ€”these promises made in his sleep. It was as if his subconscious was speaking directly to her, laying bare everything he might not say while awake.

Y/N pressed a kiss to his shoulder, her voice barely a whisper. "Forever, Mattheo. Always."

And then, with his arm still wrapped around her tightly, she felt herself drift into a peaceful sleep. The fire burned low in the hearth, the shadows in the room growing softer, but her heart remained full. She had no doubt in her mind that whatever the future held, they would face it together. In his sleep, Mattheo had just spoken the words she had always longed to hear. And she knew that even in the quietest moments, their love would always be thereβ€”constant, unshakable, and forever.
