Y/N lay sprawled out, face down on the cold dorm floor, the smooth stone grounding her as Dark Room by Foreign Figures played on repeat. The lyrics curled around her like smoke, wrapping her in something both heavy and oddly comforting.

Floor time.

It wasn't a breakdown, nor was it sadness, really. Just a moment of stillness. A necessary pause from the weight of pretendingβ€”pretending she was always fine, pretending she was unshakable, pretending nothing ever got under her skin. The world demanded too much, expected too much, and sometimes... sometimes, she just needed to be.

The music pulsed through her, rattling in her chest.

"Way down we go, to the dark room... Where your pain's the only one to greet you..."

Then, just as the chorus hit again, the warmth of her solitude was rudely shattered.

Her headphones were yanked off.

Y/N's head snapped up. "The actual fuck?"

Mattheo stood over her, holding the stolen headphones, looking somewhere between amused and concerned. His dark brows were furrowed, but the smirk tugging at his lips told her he wasn't taking this nearly as seriously as she wanted.

"What the fuck are you doing, princess?" he asked.

"Give me back my suffering," she groaned, dramatically flopping her head back onto the floor.

The door creaked open further, and suddenly, her moment of peace was gone as four more figures filled the roomβ€”Theo, Draco, Blaise, and Enzo, all staring at her like she was some kind of bizarre creature under examination.

"She's face down on the floor, listening to depressing music," Blaise deadpanned. "What do you think she's doing?"

"What is she doing?" Draco repeated, nose wrinkling in confusion.

"Floor time," Y/N mumbled into the ground.

"What the fuck is floor time?" Draco shot back.

Theo, as if this was completely normal, shrugged. "It's when you lie on the floor and let existential dread consume you."

Draco turned to glare at him. "How do you even know that?"

"She's my best friend, Malfoy. I know things."

Mattheo exhaled loudly, rubbing a hand down his face. Then, to Y/N's utter disbelief, he muttered, "Alright. Fine."

Then, with zero hesitation, he flopped onto the floor beside her.

A beat of silence followed.

Then Theo, ever the chaotic gremlin, grinned and sprawled out dramatically next to them. "Well, I'm in."

Enzo stared for a long second before sighing. "I don't fully understand this, but sure," he muttered, laying down beside them.

Draco and Blaise exchanged glances.

"This is fucking stupid," Draco mutteredβ€”but he still slid down to sit against the bed, arms crossed.

Blaise, however, remained standing, arms folded. "I'm not doing this."

Y/N finally lifted her head, narrowing her eyes at him. "Get down here, Zabini."

"Absolutely not."

Y/N took a deep breathβ€”then, at full volumeβ€”"OUT. NOW! SHOO!"

Blaise blinked. "Did you justβ€”"

"SHOO!"

Draco, utterly betrayed by the turn of events, scowled. "Wait, we're getting kicked out?"

"Yes," Y/N said firmly. Then, softer, she glanced to the side. "Theo stays."

Theo, absolutely thrilled, turned to smirk at the others. "You heard the lady."

Mattheo gaped at her. "Excuse meβ€”"

"I said shoo," she huffed.

Enzo sighed. "Alright, let's leave the lunatic to her floor therapy."

"Oh, fuck you," Y/N muttered, already reaching for something to throw.

Draco was the first to get up, muttering under his breath. But before he could make it to the door, a pillow came sailing at his head.

"Oi!" He barely dodged it.

"I SAID SHOO!"

Now laughing, the boys scrambled up.

"Alright, alright, we're going!" Theo chuckled, watching with delight as his friends stumbled to escape the chaos.

Mattheo lingered for a moment longer, arms crossed. "You're actually kicking me out?"

"You questioned the floor time. You suffer the consequences."

Mattheo scoffed. "Unbelievable."

Y/N reached for another pillow, and he took that as his cue to leave, muttering something about his crazy girlfriend as he backed out.

Blaise, the last one in the doorway, smirked. "You know, you could just talk about your problems instead of assaulting us with dorm dΓ©cor."

In response, Y/N chucked a whole textbook at him.

"Fucking hell!" Blaise ducked, slamming the door shut.

Finally, silence.

Y/N exhaled, dropping her head back onto the cool floor.

Theo grinned beside her. "So. What's the real reason for floor time?"

She huffed. "Nothing. Just... needed a minute."

Theo nodded, not pushing. He turned his gaze to the ceiling. "Cool. You mind if I stay?"

A small, grateful smile ghosted her lips.

"Nah. You can stay."
