It was a quiet evening in the Slytherin dormitory. The warmth of the fire crackled softly in the hearth, casting a gentle glow across the room. Most of the boys had retreated to their respective corners, lounging on their favorite chairs or scribbling in notebooks. Mattheo, Enzo, Blaise, and Draco were casually talking amongst themselves, catching up after a long day of classes and training. The soft murmur of their voices filled the space, but as they moved toward Mattheo's bed, the quiet scene before them made them stop in their tracks.

There, sprawled out in front of Mattheo's bed, lay Y/N, completely asleep. Her head rested on a pile of soft pillows, and her body was tangled up in a blanket she must've pulled off the bed earlier. Her usual indomitable energy had melted away, replaced by the peaceful calm of a deep sleep. But what truly caught the attention of the boys wasn't just her positionβ€”it was the stuffed bunny clutched securely in her arms. It was a plush, faded blue bunny that she always kept close, a reminder of childhood comfort.

Mattheo raised an eyebrow as he leaned against the doorframe. "Really?" he muttered, a small chuckle escaping his lips. "She's on the floor again."

Enzo, walking beside him, glanced at the scene with a grin. "I mean, I get it," he said, shrugging. "That floor is pretty soft. But she didn't even try to get on the bed this time?"

Blaise, standing near the window, rolled his eyes with a smirk. "Honestly, the way she just collapsed, I think she meant to do it. Look at herβ€”completely out cold. She must've been exhausted."

Mattheo's smile softened as he stepped further into the room, eyes never leaving Y/N. He'd seen her do this before: fall asleep in the most unexpected places because she was simply too tired to bother making her way to the bed. More often than not, she'd nap in the strangest positions and places, and each time, it only made him adore her more. She was always so wrapped up in the busyness of life that sometimes, when exhaustion finally took over, she didn't have the energy for anything else but to let herself collapse wherever she was.

Draco shook his head, but there was a faint smile on his lips as he watched his best friend. "She's going to be mad when she wakes up, you know," he teased, raising an eyebrow.

Mattheo shrugged, looking back at his friends with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I'll deal with that when the time comes." He knelt down, his gaze softening as he gently brushed a lock of Y/N's dark hair out of her face. The sight of her so serene and vulnerable melted his heart. "She's not waking up anytime soon. I'll just carry her to bed."

Enzo raised an eyebrow, a teasing smirk crossing his face. "Oh, you're really going to do it, huh?"

"I don't mind," Mattheo responded, his voice quiet but filled with affection. "She's too stubborn to ask for help, so I'll just make sure she's comfortable." With that, he carefully bent down, his hands brushing under her back and knees to lift her. Y/N shifted slightly in her sleep, murmuring softly, but didn't fully wake. Her body relaxed against him, her grip on the bunny tightening as if to hold onto the dream world she was still lost in.

Blaise watched with amusement, leaning against the wall. "This is definitely something I didn't expect to see tonight. Mattheo Riddle, the stoic Slytherin, playing the role of the doting boyfriend."

Mattheo shot him a playful glare as he straightened up, holding Y/N effortlessly in his arms. "I'm not playing anything," he muttered, his voice low. "I just want her to sleep well."

Draco, now crossing his arms, snorted. "Yeah, sure. You're totally not whipped, mate."

"Shut up, Draco," Mattheo shot back, though his lips twitched upward in amusement.

Mattheo slowly walked over to the bed, careful not to jostle her too much. He was used to this by nowβ€”the way her head rested against his chest, how she would nuzzle into him instinctively when he carried her. It always made him feel protective, like it was his job to make sure she was safe and comfortable. He'd carry her to bed every night if she'd let him.

When he reached the bed, he gently placed her under the covers. The blanket enveloped her in warmth, and Mattheo smoothed her hair back from her face before tucking her in carefully. The softness of her breathing and the way her eyes stayed shut made his heart swell. She looked so peaceful, so serene. It was a contrast to the vibrant and energetic girl he knew. He couldn't help but smile as he watched her, her bunny now resting against her chest as if it was just as important as him.

"Goodnight, Y/N," he whispered softly, his voice barely above a murmur. He bent down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, feeling the warmth of her skin against his lips. "Sleep well."

He straightened up, moving to the side of the bed to admire her for a moment longer. Her fingers, still clutching her bunny tightly, were curled in a relaxed, comforting way. There was something about that stuffed bunnyβ€”he knew it had been with her for years, a reminder of simpler times, and it was always by her side when she needed comfort most.

As Mattheo moved toward the door to leave the room, Enzo, Blaise, and Draco stood silently, watching him. For all the teasing and jokes, they couldn't help but notice the tenderness in Mattheo's eyes as he looked at Y/N. It was a side of him none of them had ever seen beforeβ€”a side he only showed when she was around.

Enzo broke the silence with a wide grin. "You're lucky, Mattheo. I don't think any of us would get away with this kind of thing."

"Don't worry," Mattheo responded, glancing back over his shoulder. "I'm just glad she's getting some rest."

Draco shook his head, his smirk never fading. "It's cute, really. You're whipped, but it's cute."

Mattheo rolled his eyes but couldn't hide the smile that tugged at his lips. "Get out of here. Let her sleep."

The boys shared a final laugh before leaving the room, giving Mattheo the space he needed to watch over Y/N. He stayed by the door for a few moments longer, watching her sleep so peacefully. It was moments like these that he cherished the most, where everything seemed to slow down, and it was just him and her.

And as the night continued on, the only sound in the room was the soft, rhythmic breathing of Y/N, her stuffed bunny safely tucked in her arms, and Mattheo's quiet, contented watch over her.
