Beomgyu's pov

---

I was sitting at the dining table, lazily digging into my bowl of ramen when a voice interrupted my peace.

"Can I have a bite?"

I glanced up to see Yeonjun standing over me, an expectant look on his face.

"Go make your own," I muttered, not even pausing my slurping.

"Come on, I'm just asking for one bite." His tone was sharper now, clearly annoyed.

I let out a dramatic sigh before finally pushing the bowl slightly toward him. "Fine. Just one."

Yeonjun smirked triumphantly, stealing a bite before plopping himself down in the seat across from me.

"What now?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at him as I twirled the noodles around my chopsticks.

"What?" He raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence.

"Can't you just let me eat in peace?"

"Nope," he said nonchalantly, leaning back in his chair. Then, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, he added, "By the way, did you hear what Soobin said?"

I paused mid-slurp, staring at him. "No. What did he say?"

Yeonjun leaned forward, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Someone's going to be living with us in the dorm."

I blinked at him, my brain taking a moment to process his words. Then I shook my head and scoffed. "Stop joking. It's not even funny."

"I'm not joking," Yeonjun said, rolling his eyes. "If you don't believe me, ask Hyung yourself."

Before I could respond, Soobin appeared, walking toward the table. "There you two are! I've been lookingβ€”"

I cut him off, turning to him with wide eyes. "Hyung, is it true? Someone's moving in with us?"

Soobin looked taken aback, his expression a mix of confusion and hesitation. "What are you talking about?"

"Tell Beomgyu it's true," Yeonjun chimed in, reclining in his chair with a smug look.

Soobin sighed heavily and pulled out a chair, rubbing the back of his neck as he sat down. "Okay, fine. The manager mentioned it earlier. But, nothing is confirmed yet."

"What do you mean 'not confirmed'? Who's moving in? And why?" I asked, my voice rising with frustration.

Soobin gave me a tired look. "The manager said someone might be assigned to take care of us. That's all I know."

"To take care of us?" I scoffed, incredulous. "What are we, five-year-olds?"

"Look, I don't have all the details," Soobin said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "The manager's going to hold a meeting about it soon. That's all I know for now."

I pushed my chair back abruptly, the sound of it scraping against the floor cutting through the tension. "This is ridiculous," I muttered, storming off toward my room without waiting for a response.

Yeonjun's POV

I watched Beomgyu storm off, his anger radiating like a thundercloud. Disappointment was written all over his face, and honestly, I couldn't blame him. It was a lot to take in.

Soobin turned to me, his expression tired. "Yeonjun, I told you to keep this a secret for now."

I raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. "You never explicitly said it was a secret," I replied, rolling my eyes.

Soobin sighed heavily, rubbing his temples. He looked like he wanted to say more but decided against it.

A/N POV:

Meanwhile, Taehyun and Kai had just ended their live broadcast.

The two came out of their room, laughing.

"The comments were wholesome this time," Kai said, grinning.

"I know, right?" Taehyun giggled in agreement.

Yeonjun glanced at them from the couch. "You guys are finally done?"

"Yeah, all wrapped up," Kai replied.

Soobin, who was lounging on the other end of the couch with a book in his hand, barely looked up.

"Hyung, I'm hungry," Taehyun said as he flopped onto the couch beside him.

Soobin checked the time. "Yeah, it's about dinner time."

Kai immediately jumped in. "Yesterday, Beomgyu hyung and I cooked. This time, it's your turn, Taehyun hyung and Soobin hyung."

"Agreed," Yeonjun said with a smirk, backing Kai up.

Soobin chuckled, setting his book aside. "Fair enough. I remember yesterday's disaster in the kitchen."

Taehyun groaned dramatically. "Naurrr~ I don't want to! I'm tired."

"So is everyone else, Taehyun. Get up." Soobin smacked him lightly on the back, earning an exaggerated pout.

Reluctantly, Taehyun followed Soobin into the kitchen, leaving Yeonjun and Kai to watch TV.

As they prepped dinner, Taehyun glanced toward the hallway. "It's weird... did Beomgyu hyung go to bed early?"

Soobin shook his head. "You really think so? He's probably just in his room, sulking."

Taehyun nodded knowingly, letting the topic drop.

Once dinner was ready, Soobin started gathering plates. "I'll go call Beomgyu."

Yeonjun stopped him, waving him off. "No need. You handle the dishes; I'll go."

Soobin shrugged and got back to setting the table.

---

Yeonjun knocked once on Beomgyu's door before letting himself in. The room was dark, save for the soft glow of a lamp. Beomgyu lay on his bed, his back turned to the door.

"I know you're awake," Yeonjun said casually as he sat on the edge of the bed.

Beomgyu groaned and rolled over to face him. "Go away, hyung."

"Nu-uh. Come eat dinner. Everyone's waiting," Yeonjun said, undeterred. "Besides, you didn't even finish your ramen earlier."

Beomgyu scoffed, shaking his head. "I lost my appetite."

Yeonjun leaned forward, his voice softer. "Look, you know nothing's confirmed yet. Stop overthinking this."

Beomgyu sat up, running a hand through his hair. "It's not that simple, Yeonjun. I'm not just mad. I'm... disappointed. Does the manager really think we're so irresponsible that we need someone to take care of us? What does that even mean?"

Yeonjun sighed, understanding the frustration in Beomgyu's words. "Honestly? I don't know either. But there's no point stressing over something we can't control yet. Just let it go for now. Don't let it weigh on you."

He placed a reassuring hand on Beomgyu's shoulder. "And don't worry Taehyun and Kai with this either, okay? They don't need to be caught up in it. Come eat with us."

Beomgyu hesitated, but after a moment, he exhaled and nodded. "Fine... let's go."

Yeonjun smiled faintly, standing up. "That's the spirit. Now hurry up before Taehyun eats your share too."

Despite himself, Beomgyu cracked a small smile and followed Yeonjun out of the room.
