"Ember, find Azmaranth." Minho said to the younger girl who nodded and ran off. Azmaranth was the head of the royal guard, and it would be his job to assign a guard to Rosalina and Harley.

"Your guard will be here shortly." Minho said. He walked out of the dungeons with a million thoughts running through his head.

His father was Korell Caldwell? That meant that the Caldwell children were his siblings. Felix was his little brother.

Minho's eyes widened at that thought. This had to have something to do with Felix and Felicity. That's why the two always acted so weird.

The allet met his fiance in the halls of the castle, actually running into him and falling on his ass because he wasn't paying attention.

"You should watch where you're going, beautiful." Chan said with a smile. His grin fell from his face when he noticed Minho's worried expression.

"What's wrong, love?" Chan asked softly, helping Minho up.

Minho was practically hyperventilating. "I know who my father is."

"Korell Caldwell, the former king of Anglosand, is your father?" Chan asked to confirm.

Minho nodded frantically. "He's my father and he wants access to the Fields of Sigarden, but I know if he gets into them, the world is going to end!"

Chan brought his lover into his arms, holding the allet tightly. The contact helped ground Minho, and he calmed down with a few deep breaths.

"It'll be okay, Minho. You have people by your side who will help you. You have your sisters, you have Hyunjin and his siblings, and you have me and my siblings. Plus Seungmin and his family. You don't have to worry about this by yourself." Chan said reassuringly, running his fingers through Minho's hair.

"You don't ever have to go through this alone." Chan whispered, gently kissing Minho's forehead. Minho melted into the touch, closing his eyes and just basking in the attention.

Now that Minho knew that the Caldwell siblings were his siblings, he'd been paying a lot more attention to them. So he noticed that Felix and Felicity disappeared for almost an hour every day.

Right now, he was invisible, following them as they walked off. They walked for a while until they got to the abandoned lighthouse on the northern shore of Aecerith. The lighthouse had been abandoned for more than fifty years. Felix and Felicity went in and Minho followed them.

Once the two boys got to the top, Minho heard voices. Two familiar, Felicity and Felix, and one unfamiliar, but he had an idea of who it could be.

He got to the top, still invisible, and had to stifle a gasp when he saw. Sitting there was Korell Caldwell. His father.

"Where are Raina and Ronnie?" Korell questioned his daughter.

"Ronnie is still getting supplies and Raina is hanging out with Seungmin and Jeongin. She's successfully made friends with them, and they don't suspect a thing." Felicity answered. There was a wicked smirk on her face and she looked... evil.

Felix, however, looked deeply uncomfortable. Scared even.

"Dad... why are we doing this?" Felix asked quietly.

Felicity stalked over to Felix and smacked him across the face, throwing him to the floor. Minho could barely hold back his shout of anger. That's why Felix had always seemed so scared of Felicity.

"Don't question Father!" Felicity shouted, venom dripping from her words.

Felix was crying as he held his bruised face. Korell called Felix's name and the boy flinched. The moobloom walked over to his father and flinched as the man brought his hand up. The man slapped Felix in the face as hard as he could, the slap echoing throughout the lighthouse.

Minho's father then brought his hand up, setting it on Felix's face where a bruise was forming. The hand glowed green and the bruise disappeared as Felix was healed. Felix let out a cry of pain.

Minho was livid. They were abusing Felix and then healing him so that the evidence wasn't there. But Minho knew how faerie healing worked. It took away the wound, but the smaller the injury the more it hurt. Healing small injuries hurt ten times more than the original injury. Faerie healing was only meant for the worst injuries.

Felix let out little cries of pain as Korell continued to heal him far beyond what he should. It just made Minho angrier, but he knew he couldn't make a sound. It felt horrible, not being able to save Felix, but he would just make it worse for the boy if he tried to rescue him now.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Felix cried, cowering. Korell took his hand away from Felix's face.

"Don't ever question me, boy." Korell said to his son, who nodded with tears running down his face.

Felicity had a sick grin on her face as she watched her father hurt her brother and Minho wanted to strangle her.

Once Korell dismissed Felix, the boy ran over and cowered in the corner.

"You still haven't told us when we're attacking, Father." Felicity said with a frown.

Korell glared angrily. "You'll know when I want you to know, Felicity."

Felicity rolled her eyes. "Whatever."

Korell snapped his fingers and a black orb appeared right in front of him. "Show me Minho Hourfell."

Minho's eyes went wide as the orb spun and then showed what Minho was seeing. Korell looked confused when he saw himself.

Felicity's eyes went wide and she shouted, "HE'S IN HERE!"

Felix perked up, looking around for Minho, even though the allet was invisible.

Minho leapt out of the lighthouse window, letting his wings catch him in the air. He heard Felicity shouting after him, but he didn't look back. He couldn't look back.

As soon as he was sure he was safe, he fell through the ground, landing on his back in the Fields.

"You look like shit."

Minho looked up at the goddess who was standing a foot away from him. "I can't deal with you today, Lilith."

Lilith frowned. "You found out, huh?"

"I don't know what to do." Minho said, grabbing at his hair in frustration.

Lilith walked over and gently grabbed Minho's hands, pulling them away from his head. "Don't hurt yourself over it."

"What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to save my brother?"

Lilith sighed softly. She took a few steps away from Minho, and a white portal appeared behind her.

"There's someone I'd like you to meet, Minho." Lilith said softly. She led him through the portal and they arrived in a world of white. It wasn't just a void, but a whole world where everything was colored white. The only thing in color was a woman in all black and purple.

The woman noticed them and her eyes went wide.

"Lilith... is this?"

Lilith smiled softly. "It is, Kristin. This is your boy."

Your boy? Minho thought to himself.

"Minho, I'd like you to meet Kristin Caldwell, formerly Kristin Hourfell."

Karl's eyes widened. Hourfell.

"M-Mom?"

Kristin made a teary-choked sound as she smiled at her son. "Hi, baby."

"Mom!" Minho shouted, barreling into his mother and hugging her tight.

Minho looked up at her in disbelief. "How... How are you here? You're alive!"

Kristin smiled softly. "I never really died. Korell could never have killed me, sweetie."

Minho looked confused so Kristin continued, "I'm a goddess, Minho."

Minho's eyes widened once more as he stared at his mother. "A goddess?"

"I'm the ninth goddess, The Goddess of Death." Kristin said with a chuckle.

"I'm the child of a goddess?! Wait, you're a goddess but you gave birth to mortals?"

Kristin smiled softly. She subtly nodded her thanks at Lilith who slipped out of the realm quietly.

"I didn't give birth to your sisters, Minho, only you and those that came after you."

Minho tilted his head in confusion. "So... they're not really your kids?"

Kristin laughed quietly. "They are my children, I just didn't give birth to them."

"I'm confused." Minho said.

"Let me tell you a story, Minho."

"Gods and goddesses aren't born that way. All the gods you hear about in stories do exist, but there's something the stories don't tell you. All the gods and goddesses died young. The youngest goddess was seven when she died. We were all children who died before we were supposed to, so we were made into gods and goddesses."

"My sister was the first, the Goddess of Life. She died when she was fourteen. I died four years later, but by then there were already seven other gods and goddesses. I was the Goddess of Death and she was the Goddess of Life. It felt fitting as we'd been opposites in life and were opposites in death."

"Being the goddess of life, Elena could in theory, put life back into something that had died. The first time I ever asked her to do it was when I met Nova and Hope. They were seven when they died. The moment I saw them, I knew they were my children. I asked my sister to revive them, and she agreed. However, the ritual required a bit of my magic, because you can't have life without death. In doing so, my magic fused with hers and they became my own children once they were brought back to life."

"Next came Lyra. She had abusive parents. They beat her to death at six years old, and I immediately became attached to her. Elena brought her back and she became my third child. Then came Ethereal. Ethereal was a special case. She died a minute after birth because her mother had been an alcoholic and hadn't taken care of herself during the pregnancy. Ethereal was supposed to have lived to at least fifteen, but the fates made a mistake. Elena brought her back and she was given a second chance as a healthy baby girl."

"Then I met Korell. Korell was... charming. He was an angel. He was one of Elena's angels and he'd gone against her orders one too many times and was sent down to me. I met him a while after he was banished and I was somehow convinced to forgive his wrongdoings. However, instead of him going back to Elena, he stayed with me and became an angel of death, and we fell in love. Or at least, I thought it was love. While we were together, Colby was brought to me. Colby was the last child to be reborn. Two years after Colby was brought to me, I got pregnant with Fay and Felicity. We'd thought it was impossible for me to have children with someone mortal, but Korell wasn't technically mortal."

"I didn't learn of Korell's ulterior motives until after Fay and Felicity were born, so it was too late for me to save them. However, when I found out about you, I already knew your legacy. You would be in danger from the moment you were born until the moment you died, so I had to keep you away from him until you could protect yourself. As soon as you were born, I had Nova and Hope take you and disappear. I didn't even let them tell me where they were taking you, because Korell could read minds."

"I knew that he'd try to hurt your sisters if he found out you were gone, so I left them in Aecerith while I went to Anglosand. Korell followed me and I pretended like everything was normal, and that I hadn't been the one at fault for your disappearance. A few years later, Clementine and Frost were born. Then came Winter, and finally Felix."

"Mom, he's hurting Felix." Minho said, tears in his eyes as he remembered the terrified look in his brother's eyes.

Kristin nodded solemnly. "I know, Minho. He's been hurting Felix for a long time."

"Can't you do something about it?"

Kristin shook her head sadly. "I'm no longer allowed to interact with Earth."

"Why?" Minho asked softly.

"Korell gave up his immortality to cast a spell that keeps me trapped here. I won't be freed until he steps foot in my domain, after his last breath has been taken."
