It was a normal practice day when I was called by one of the other players. "Coach (Y/N). You have a guest." I turned to the player when I saw Tetsuya.
"Nice to see you here, Tetsuya. We've been waiting for you, you know? Have you found your answer?" I asked.
"You already know the answer, Coach." He stared into my eyes. "Well then." I was about to walk away when I was stopped.
"Uh... If I could make a request, if possible, could I show you in a match?" Tetsu asked. "I understand, I'll talk it up with the captain." I walked to Nijimura-senpai.
"What? Oh you mean the boy you told me about before? Seriously? Well, you're the coach so you can recommend someone though you have to talk it up with the head and main coaches. As promised, we'll at least take a look. And either way, you're the coach, you make the decisions. We follow after you." He told me. "Ok." I nodded.
We ended up going to the 3rd string's gym to watch Tetsuya. Me, Nijimura-senpai, Coach Sanada, and Seijuro.
The 3rd string players were surprised to see us. "We are lucky that the 2nd and 3rd strings are practising together. I'll make sure no one knows about this." Coach told us. "Ok then." I nodded.
Coach Sanada outlined what would be happening right now. "And now, we will start the match between the 2nd and 3rd strings!" He shouted.
Tipoff started and the game began. We all watched Tetsuya carefully.
He then erased his presence, making his defender confused and then passed the ball to his teammate.
-Misdirection.- I could tell Coach Sanada and Nijimura-senpai were beyond belief.
Everyone was in shock. I saw Nijimura-senpai's mind running 100 miles per hour so I decided to explain everything about misdirection.
"He trained well." I smiled. "I mean, you did train him, Coach (F/N)." Seijuro said. "I see. So you already know that this will happen." I smirked.
"Of course. I know how to use misdirection myself. But he went beyond my expectations." I explained. "You took all the words out of my mouth." The redhead said. "Well, it's only fair, Seijuro." I smiled.
The game ended in the 3rd strings favour which went as I predicted.
"(F/N)-san, please follow me as I would have to report this to the head coach." Coach called for me. "Of course." I followed Coach Sanada and we explained everything.
"That's the whole report. Your opinion, Coach?" Coach Sanada concluded.
"Hm. I see. I approve of this player's promotion." The head coach nodded. "Do you think it'll be alright? He's a good player but his talents are below average. He may not be of any use." I was pissed.
"Then we have to test it out during a real match. If he's no use, that's all. It's like what Akashi said. I can't deny that this is the player we need. (F/N), you got a good eye and good skills as a player and coach." The head coach said.
"Thank you." Coach Sanada thanked the older man. "In the end, it all comes down to whether he can bring the team to victory. That's all." The older man looked out the window.
We then walked out of the room. I had a bad feeling about all of this victory. -It may lead to problems in the future.-
I walked past the 3rd string gym to hear the club advisor calling out names for promotions. I smiled and went on my way. "Satsuki!" She turned to me.
"Yes, Coach (F/N)?" She asked me. "There is a kid I want you to get and bring him here. From now on, he's a 1st string player." I instructed. "I see. Ok!" I smiled and patted her back. "Thanks."
I walked up to Atsushi and gave him the pocky I got him. "Thank you, Coach (F/N)-chin." He thanked me.
"No problem." I smiled. The door opened and in came Satsuki and Testuya.
"Excuse me, I brought Kuroko Tetsuya-kun like Coach (F/N) said." The girl shouted. "Good thanks." I smirked.
"Hey, you made it, Tetsu!" Daiki smiled. "Hey, I was waiting for you." I walked forwards. "Welcome to the Teiko Basketball Club's 1st string." I grinned.
"Engrave this into your head. From now on, your mission is to win." Seijuro said. "Huh? He actually came?" I could tell Shintaro is suprised.
"Yo!" A voice shouted. I looked at the voice. Haizaki Shogo. A trouble maker though a good player.
"Haizaki. You're late." I sighed. "Yeah yeah, I'll be on time next time." He told me. "You always say that, though." I sighed again. "Excuse me."
Haizaki was beyond shock. "WHAT THE! WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU!?" Haizaki screamed.
"I'm Kuroko Testuya. I joined the 1st string today. It's a pleasure to meet you." He bowed.
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!?" The taller boy shouted. "HAIZAKI SHOGO! WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE!" I yelled. "Oops. Sorry, Coach." He sweatdropped.
-This dude would be the death of me.- "Alright, we're starting practice! After stretches, we'll go into foot work!" I clapped my hands.
I watched as everyone practised. "Are you getting all the info, Satsuki?" I asked the manager.
"Of course! Though, Kuroko-kun is slightly below average." She told me. "I know. His skills are not what we practise." I explained. "I see." She nodded.
It seems like Testuya is not familiar and would not be familiar with the training yet because from where I'm standing, I could see the puke from here.
"WHOA! TETSU! DON'T THROW UP! SATSUKI! BRING A BUCKET!" Daiki shouted. "Huh? AHHHH!" The manager screamed.
3rd POV - AUTHOR
(F/N) just stared at the mess in front of me. "What the hell?" The girl paled. Coach Sanada was feeling like he's ageing way quicker than expected.
Once practice was over, the boys headed for the changing rooms while (F/N) stayed back to see if the club needed any new equipment since she needed to do a monthly check up.
While that was happening, the boys were talking about Kuroko's performance during practice but it ended up with a fight between Haizaki and Murasakibara.
(F/N), who happened to walk by, heard all the noises in the locker room and banged on the door.
"I SWEAR IF YOU GUYS DON'T BE QUIET, I'LL DOUBLE YOU WORK FOR TOMORROW! NOT FOR THE PEOPLE MAKING THE NOISES BUT FOR EVERYONE IN THE 1ST STRING!" (F/N) screamed.
That was enough to make the boys be quiet. "Geez. Either way, I plan on doubling practice either way since we have a game coming up soon." She whispered.
As (F/N) was about to lock up the gym, she saw a basketball on the floor. "I guess I forgot this one." She said to herself.
She grabbed it and was about to put it in its basket but decided to play for a little while.
She practised all of the styles she had taught the boys but better and with her own twists.
Midorima's high projectile three, Aomine's speed, agility and formless shot, Murasakibara's defence and power, Akashi's perfect rhythmic plays, and Kuroko's misdirection.
She didn't know that the boys, who were passing by, peaked into the gym and saw their coach playing basketball by herself.
"Heh. I still got it. I could still kick Taiga's and Tatsuya's asses." (F/N) smiled.
"WHAT WAS THAT!?" (F/N) jumped from the loud voices. She turned around and saw the team.
"Uh hi? You could say that I could copy what I see and teach." (F/N) said.
"SO COOL!" The boys shouted. "Thanks." (F/N) placed the basketball back into the basket then locked the gym.
"Come on. I'll treat you guys to ice cream. I know how brutal training is." She smiled.
"YES! Thank you, Coach!" They thanked the girl. "No problem. Though, training isn't as hard as training NBA level." (F/N) explained. "Really?" She nodded.
"Yup. I only incorporated some of the training." She told them. "Thank goodness. Wait, ONLY SOME!? THERE IS MORE!?" She nodded.
"Yup. I practised with my dad and another former WNBA player so the training here is nothing. I could ask the coaches to switch to NBA level training." She smiled thinking back to the old days. "NO WAY!"
