It's been a single day since your mother kicked you out of your home. Currently, you were residing in Baal's house.

You were given a spare room, where you slept, did your homework, etc. Though, you assumed this was all temporary. That is, till your mother changed her mind. Or as Baal said, "till she regained her senses."

But you didn't mind living in Baal's place. You felt much more peaceful here. And safer. Not to mention, less lonely. You had both Baal and Scaramouche to comfort you.

Whereas back in your home, your mother rarely ever showed any affection towards you. Especially after your father randomly left one day for who knows what reason.

Baal entered your room while you were doing an assignment.

"I have news about your mother, y/n." Baal informed while entering your room and sitting down on a spare chair near you.

"Oh yeah?"

"Mhm. Though, I must say. This isn't exactly good news unfortunately. And I apologize if it ruins your day," Baal explained. You noticed she looked tense and worried.

"What happened?" You asked, taking in a deep breath to prepare yourself for disappointed.

"Your mother... she— she's hospitalized apparently," Baal hesitated to finish her sentence but did it regardless.

You were shocked by her words and felt a thread of guilt wrap around you.

"What? How-?"

"I asked the neighbors for more details. Apparently after I left, she had a breakdown and tried burning the house down," she continued.

'She was never okay. Especially after dad left. I should have never said those things to her.'

"I see." You felt yourself feeling numb. Waves of guilt overflowed you.

"I'm sorry. If you'd like, I can take you to visit her sometime," Baal patted your shoulder. You could tell she wasn't used to comforting people.

"I'd like that. Thank you. I'll let you know when I want to go."

"Alright. I'll leave you be now. Take care." After mumbling the last bit, Baal left the room.

You sighed and rubbed your nape in frustration.
