Muzan POV:
"It's been three weeks since the meeting, I wonder if that human girl is still alive. I don't believe that she is." I said aloud, the sentence directed towards the black-haired demon who was stationed on the wooden platform next to me.
"I agree, Master. However, may I please say something that could possibly sway your opinion?" I raised an eyebrow, quite surprised that she said something to contradict my words. Seconds later, I felt the biwa demon panicked internally after she realized what she had requested of me.
'Shit, shit, shit! Why did I disagree with him!?' The small woman gripped onto the top of her instrument, trembling as she braced herself for what she expected was to be a painful punishment.
"You know what, go ahead. I'm listening." I was in a good mood today after discovering and eating three marechis in the same household, since even one was such a rare catch.
"Well, we had a conversation after you finished the meeting with Douma, and I found out that she's actually quite an interesting person." Nakime spoke softly, and her voice slightly wobbling.
"Hmm, how so?" I was curious to see if the human girl could possibly have a use for any of my goals.
"Well, she is like Douma-sama in the aspect of them both having a lack of emotions, which I consider to be 'less human', so to say." I paused for a moment as confusing thoughts swirled around my mind. After a few moments, it hit me why I was so invested in the girl's life.
"She is the only human that was never afraid of us. She saw Upper Two during the time that he was decapitated, yet she remained stoic in her nature. This young girl, (Y/N), is the one human that would be willing to find the Blue Spider Lily in the daytime. Nakime, if she's still alive, teleport her and Upper Two here."
The biwa demon repeatedly strummed her instrument, causing doors to shift and stairways to rearrange. The human and demon suddenly appeared on the platform before me just before I heard an alarmingly loud snap.
"Sorry, that's nothing, one of my annoying biwa threads broke again." Nakime muttered, reaching her hand beside her into a bag of spare strings. I sighed and turned my attention back onto the two in front of me, both of which were already kneeling down in anticipation.
"I have a mission for the human. She is to search for the Blue Spider Lily during the daytime, since none of us can. I suspect you don't know what the flower looks like?" She nodded her head, confirming my thoughts.
"It's a lapis colored flower, and it has spider-like tendrils that spiral upwards and out. If you find it, report to me immediately." I waited for her to start speaking, but all the young girl did was raise her (s/c) hand slowly.
"What are you doing, you look like an idiot." I scoffed at her childish behavior. My
"I'm raising my hand so that I can gain permission to speak. Also, how will I report to you? Every time I've been here, it was not by my choice." This pathetic (h/c) haired girl must either have quite a lot of bravery or a death wish to be speaking to me in such a disrespectful manner, yet I kept my composure.
"You basically just have to yell out 'Nakime' while in the shade. She cannot teleport you here if you are in sunlight. Don't ask me anymore questions, it's annoying." I explained, crossing my arms and waving the two away.
"Send me to a village, I feel starving." I placed a hand in my grumbling stomach.
"Uhm Master, I think you might have forgotten that it's daytime right now. I can teleport you after sundown, which is in three hours, if you would like." I deadpanned and Nakime sweatdropped.

Y/N POV:
As I paced back and forth, I felt Douma's rainbow eyes silently following my figure from the corner of my bedroom.
"Where do I start looking?" The blonde demon shrugged and comfortably laid flat on his stomach, imitating a cat as he stretched his hands out.
"I know a few places you can start, however don't search within the cult grounds. I know this place like the back of my hand, and not even a single flower can grow here without my approval first." The yawn he let out went on for such a tedious amount of time that I stopped pacing and patiently waited for him to stop.
"Done yet?" He blithely nodded his blonde head and fell silent. He suddenly snapped his fingers, and I turned my head towards him.
"Aha! I can just drop you off at some place that is completely random, and then we'll make a map of where you've already searched!" He rocked on his knees from side to side and threw his hands up. I tilted my head to the side, considering the idea.
"How will I find my way back?" I crossed over the hard floor and sat myself down in front of Douma.
"Oh that's easy! I'll mark the spot where I leave you before sunrise, and we'll meet back up after sundown!" The blonde demon suddenly lunged at me, causing me to lean back rapidly. The next thing I know, I'm practically being strangled in a bear hug in midair.
'My feet are not touching the ground. Great.' I thought, struggling to breathe. I patted his back lightly, and I felt myself being gently lowered back onto the floor. Douma opened his mouth to talk, only for me to interrupt him.
"When will I have time to rest?" Douma closed his mouth.
"(Y/N), rest whenever you can. It can replace training sometimes, I wouldn't want you to be tired and break another leg!" His cheerful voice went soft as he peeked out the window, and I heard a sizzling noise. The demon rubbed his burnt eye as it regenerated slowly.
"Ow. I guess the sun hasn't set yet. Oh well, we can practice punches until then, and I can bring you tomorrow night."

"Okay, so I'll leave a big slash in this tree with my fan so you know where to come back to!" Douma disappeared, and the black pine tree fell down with a resounding 'thud'. I shrugged and waved goodbye silently.
"Lapis colored flower, lapis colored flower. That is not a lapis colored flower, that is a dandelion." I reached down and picked up the fluffy ball, exhaling briskly once the white tendrils brushed my mouth. The miniscule seeds danced in the breeze before dropping to the Earth, spreading the plant.
"And I just made my job a hundred times harder. Yippee for me!" I threw the stem behind me, and ran forward as I scanned the field for anything blue at all. Suddenly I heard a crack beneath my feet and looked down.
Under me was a broken pale pink hairclip in the shape of a butterfly. I traced the sharp grooves of the object and placed it into the pocket of my hakama pants.
"Why would someone leave a beautiful clip such as this one? I'll take it home for me since it's not being used." I pondered out loud to myself, seeing no point in thinking if no one else was around to hear it. The rainbow tapestry of flowers around me swayed in the gentle wind as I swiftly stepped through them.
"Hydrangea." The clusters of familiar flower bushes were the only lapis-looking flowers in the field, and I decided to stop and smell them. I shut my eyes and inhaled the fragrant scent of the hydrangeas, listening to the serenity of my surroundings. After many hours of searching, it was late afternoon, so I returned to the sliced pine tree and fell asleep against it.
This pattern went on for three days without interruption. Before sunrise, Douma carried me to the flower field and I gave unsuccessful attempts at hunting down the location of the spider lily. Then, I would always rest next to or near the tree and the demon would pick me up and bring me back to the cult.
As a present, Douma helped me mend the pretty butterfly clip and sometimes I wore it in place of the hydrangea one he gifted me with.

'It's getting dark already, I should head back to the tree now.' I thought to myself, not wanting to speak.
"Nee-san! Look! She's wearing your hairclip!" I heard a young girl's voice and I turned towards it. The girl looked like she was in her early teens, and had big violet eyes that faded to white. The woman who was next to her, her sister, seemed about sixteen or seventeen and had friendly pale pink eyes.
The younger one ran right up to me and attempted to snatch the hairclip out of my hair, but I easily deflected her arm. Seeing this, the older girl panicked and grabbed ahold of her younger sister's shoulders and pulled her backwards. She bowed deeply at me, her face covered by her long black hair.
"I apologize profusely about my younger sister's behavior, she has a short temper!" I shrugged and unfastened my hairclip.
"It's okay. I'm (L/N) (Y/N), by the way. You said this was yours...err..." I realized that I didn't know either of their names. As the older girl stood up straight and took the pin from my hands carefully, I saw the hilt of a katana at her hip.
"Ara ara, I forgot to introduce myself, how rude of me! I'm Kocho Kanae, and this is my sister Shinobu!"
