I woke up the next morning, immediately knowing something was off. I looked at the clock, seeing it was well past early morning. But I set an alarm!  I went straight for my dresser, grabbing something entirely random as I thought about how the evil in this town was already trying to put me at a disadvantage.

I threw on my jacket and dashed downstairs. I almost faltered, seeing dad sitting at the table reading the paper and drinking coffee senselessly. I walked past him, his eyes staring blankly into space. I frowned, turning towards the knive set near the sink. I looked at the set, slowly pulling the largest of the set from its spot.

"What are you doing?" My father's voice came to life, but still sounded far away. I jumped back in reaction, pulling my hand away from the knives and looked at him.

"I was looking for something." I answered poorly, grabbing two knives from the holder. I tucked them under my jacket and ran upstairs. I went back to my room, swinging the door shut. I fell back on the bed, the two felines watching me curiously as I tucked each of the knives into a boot, making sure they were secured and in place. I breathed in deeply and looked at Monroe and Tiger. I scratched each of them behind the ear. Reassuring myself.

"I'll see you two later. I promise." I bid my farewells to the tiny creatures, rushing down the stairs speedily.

"Where are you going?" Dad asked out with breathless concern.

"Just be careful while I'm gone, dad. Keep the doors and windows locked." I instruct before walking out of the door. I hurry down the steps and around back, getting my bike out from the shed. I started it up, kicking up dirt as I sped off. I just hope I'm not too late...

I started nearing the spot from my dreams, my heart hammering in my chest. I felt sick to my stomach every time I think back to the dreams. To say it was graphic was an understatement. Trembling as I felt the splatter of his blood slap across my face. I couldn't get the image out of my head no matter how hard I tried to think of something else. Anything else but the closer I got the more I felt like.. I was gonna have to watch Clyde die all over again..

I continued for the area, panicking as I seen a person in the distance. In the same area where I had seen Clyde run Jeff off the road, was Drew. Wait, since when was Drew here!? He was never here before- He's not supposed to be here! Damn it all to hell! That probably means Jeff and Clyde are already here also! .. Unless I'm too late.. I  tensed at the thought, revving the bike faster. As I got closer I started to hear faint yelling over my bike's engine... and another engine. I finally got up to Drew and slowed despite not wanting to.

I sped up to Drew, just barely able to hear the sounds of yelling over my engine.. as well as another engine. Revving wildly.

"Drew, get the fuck out of here! Drew, leave! NOW!" I rushed out at him, stopping short as he still stood frozen. He looked at me wide eyed, the look of regret and remorse there but was too shocked to actually say anything. He nods, taking off on his bike as I continued further down the road towards Clyde and Gus.

"Stop it, man!!" I heard Clyde cry out. My eyes bulging out in fear as I skidded the bike to a stop and peered over the edge.. Jeff was gone and Gus had the bike over Clyde's face. The look of pure enjoyment in his eyes at Clyde cowers and screams at Gus to stop.

I threw myself off of the bike and started down the hill, the adrenaline I felt was the only thing fueling me. My fear was making me senseless, not sure what was real and what was dream anymore, as the nightmares still flashed before my eyes. My eyes stung with tears as I tried not to falter in my steps, Clyde's scarf slowly flying up towards the moving tire. I gasped out breathlessly, a scream following right after it phantomly..

The wind around me started to blow colder, slowing as the demonic force tried to do everything in its power to slow me down. Stop this, Aunna.. The wind started blowing profusely, the leaves in front of me blowing, revealing a branch that was curved up in my path. Shit! My eyes snapped to the scarf as it inches closer to the bike, Clyde still at the mercy of Gus.

I jumped over the lifelike branch, crashing down to the ground forcefully. I scrambled to grab the scarf, breathing out shakily as I managed to grab it before it was sucked into the death trap. They feed off fear, Aunna! You can't fear them. I stared shockingly at the material I held in my trembling hand. Don't feel fear..? Yeah! I'll get right on that! Are you crazy?? Gus made a low rasp as he glowers down at me. That's not Gus.. And even if it was.. I never liked him anyways!

I seethed quietly, clutching the scarf as I pulled out a knife from my boot. I reached up swiftly, plunging the knife deeply into Gus's stomach. He staggered back from the force, chuckling evilly as he shoves the bike out. The bike was shoved out towards us, the tire still spinning viciously.

I screamed out as the bike falls, landing on my calf mercilessly. The tire spinning and tearing right into my flesh. I feel the blood already pour from the wound, skin missing as I cry out painfully again, straining to function under the immense pain. I threw the scarf in my hand off to the side, shoving the bike off me. I turn to Clyde quickly, who still laid on the ground behind me horrified. His eyes filled with pure fear and, well, like he had finally seen the horrors of this town.

"Clyde, you have to get up and go! And whatever you do, don't stop!" I ordered him urgently, hearing Gus grunt out, gaining my attention and turning back to see him removing the knife from his wound. I lifted up my injured leg, gritting my teeth as I moved it, and pulled the other knife from my boot.

"I've always hated you.. It's no wonder my mother dumped your sorry ass." I sneered as he stands there. A deep rooted, demonic grin etching across his face. Clyde still laid there, forcing me to turn my attention back to him briefly. I shoved him back some in his place, this time forcing him to look back at me as he still seemed to be processing everything. My attention was forced back to Gus, hearing Clyde finally stumble up from the ground. I don't look back as I hear him clumsily retreat up the hill, instead focused on Gus as his inhumanly dark, malevolent eyes watched me dangerously. He stood brutishly in front of me, the knife in his hand and held up by his side in a gesturing manner.

"You want your knife back?" He smirked sickly. My eyes widen as he lunged forward. I rolled to the side, using my good leg to kick his feet out from under him. As he crashed to the ground below me, I stabbed the knife out defensively.

He yelled out as it came down on his thigh, me taking the opportunity to run. I scramble up the hill that was behind me hastily, the leaves under me trying to drag me back down to him. I screamed out in alarm as Gus grabbed my leg tightly. I turned back to react, to kick him off of me but Gus had already taken one of the knives and plunged it down on my already injured leg. I screeched as he started twisting it, driving the knife further into my flesh. He let out a sickening crackle of laughter as the wound wept with blood, my cries only making it all the more enjoyable for him.

I groan painfully, heaving and yelling as I muster the power to push myself back, drawing my other leg back and slamming it into his face murderously. The force sent him back, the knife ripping out from my leg as he still held it firmly in his grasp. I forced myself to get up, straining to do so. I hear Gus groan, a demented chuckle cackling out with it insanely. I looked back at the sound, knowing it was the darkness that was laughing at me. The laugh carrying out in the wind and snaking up my spine.

The ground I had my hands clutched into started to give out, trying desperately to find sturdy ground to hold onto and escape. Dirt was almost thrown at me, the sounds of, what almost sounded like someone had skidded across gravel, being heard above. I looked up sharply, Clyde leaning over the edge heavily and holding a hand down for me to try and grab.

"Clyde! You can't be here! Leave!" I yelled at him pleadingly, his eyes flickering behind me as we could hear Gus recover below. He shook his head, a look of determination trying so hard to overcome the other emotions he was feeling.

"I'm not leaving without you this time!" He reaches out further, pulling me up over the edge. I heaved out once, wishing I could have stayed and at least catch my breath fully before having to get up..

We rushed to my bike, me being the driver and starting it up hastily as Clyde jumped on the back. I revved it up, Gus throwing himself over the edge of the road, springing up in an instant. Clyde yelled out as Gus took a long step towards us, swinging one of the knives out as I swerve around him to dodge. Feeling his deathly touch come just inches away, his cold soulless eyes locking with mine. He grins madly, stopping to laugh as I zoom past him.
