kayla's pov:
15 minutes went by and they all came back and sat down. I got up and walked over to his room. I slowy opened the door and saw him laying on the bed. I closed the door behind me and walked over to the bed. as soon as I looked at him tears flooded into my eyes. I sat in the chair next to bed and lightly grabbed his hand. I couldn't even say anything. I just sat there staring at him while crying. a few minutes went by and a nurse came in.
nurse:hello, if you don't mind I'm just here to change his bandage
kayla:hi
I got up and moved out of her way so she could change mattias bandage.!
nurse:he's really lucky
kayla:yeah he is
I said taking a deep breath.
nurse:are you his girlfriend?
kayla:yeah I am
nurse:just know that he's going to be okay, I can tell you both care for eachother a lot
she said looking at me.
kayla:thank you
I said and she nodded.
nurse:oh by the way my name is nurse susan, if you need anything just let me know
she said before leaving. I sat back down. a couple minutes later mattias mom came in.
mirna:hey kayla, the group had to leave and I need it to back home. do you need a ride home?
kayla:uh no thank you, I think I'll stay the night
mirna:are you sure?
kayla:yeah
mirna:okay thank you kayla, call me if you need anything and keep me updated
kayla:will do, bye
mirna:bye sweetie
she said before giving me a hug and leaving. i sat in the chair and thought about everything that was happening. I was exhausted, I just wanted to sleep but I couldn't. what if he woke up , I needed to know.
kayla:baby I know you probably can't even hear me, but please wake up. I need you, everyone needs you. we're supposed to grow old together. I should be the person in that bed right now. not you
I said balling my eyes out. a tear dropped into mattia hand and I wiped it. I shortly calmed myself down a bit and checked the time. 9:45pm. I had been at the hospital all day. I looked up and heard someone knock on the door.
nurse susan:sweetie are you staying with him?
kayla:yeah I am
nurse susan:okay do you want anything to eat?
kayla:no I'm okay thank you
nurse susan:well you need to eat, so I brought you some yogurt and some other stuff. I'm heading home for the night but I'll be back tomorrow morning.
kayla:thank you so much
nurse susan:your welcome, now get some rest I'll see you later
kayla:okay bye
nurse susan:bye hun
she handed me the bag of food and the left. I sat on the little couch in the room and tried to eat the yogurt. I really wasn't hungry but I knew I had to eat. I finished my food and threw away the garbage. I laid down on the couch and tried to get some sleep but I just couldn't fall asleep.

-SKIP TO A COUPLE DAYS LATER-
it's been 2 days since the crash and mattia still hasn't woken up. I've been staying with him the whole time. I haven't even went home. my mom has been working nonstop but she's know where I am and is checking in and stuff. mattias parents have been coming to check up in him and so has the group. I woke up in the morning and brushed my teeth. the nurses gave me some stuff I needed. the group was coming in a couple minutes. about 10 minutes later the group walked into the room.
kayla:hey guys
everyone:hi
natalie:anything new with mattia?
kayla:no the nurses have been doing tests and shit and they say he could be waking up anytime soon now
I said and the all nodded understanding.
natalie:kayla you need to go home, just for a little we're here to watch him.
kayla:but I don't want to miss anything
natalie:your not going to miss anything, if anything happens we'll call you
kayla:but-
robert:no buts take my car and we'll call you if anything happens
he said handing me his keys.
kayla:thank you guys
natalie:no problem
kayla:bye
everyone:bye
I grabbed my stuff and walked out of the hospital.
