BEEP BEEP BEEP
The sound of my alarm rang through my ears annoyingly. Another day, another morning. Well, maybe not EXACTLY another morning. It's the day before my birthday, and I was turning 16. So... Yay? Groaning softly, I sat up and rubbed my amber eyes, getting the sleep out of them. My hand flew to the electric alarm clock on my bedside drawer anf he immediately stopped. That was nice.

Looking sround the room, I noticed the bed a few feet away from me was empty. Huh, Tsukasa must've woken up early today. That's new. I snickered to myself, feeling rather amused at the thought of my younger brother not needing to be woken up by me. Before I could even get out of bed, my ears caught the sound of the knob turning and soft singing. I turned my head towards the sound and saw my mother enter, a gentle smile plastered on her face as she walked in woth a small cake at hand.

"Ah, so the birthday boys awake!" She teased lightly and handed the small cake to me. It was a simple vanilla cake with white frosting and the words "Happy bday Amane!" scribbled on the top. I turned to my mother and gave her a smile. "Thanks mom" I thanked her amd grabbed the fork from her hands and took a bite. A bit plain, but yknow. It's vanilla. A base flavor. It was pretty good though.

I swallowed my bite and gave the cake back to my mother. "Thanks for the cske mom. Lets eat the rest once I get dressed and come downstairs" Smiling softly at me, she gave a small nod and left the room, closing the door behind her. I walked into my closet and scanned around the racks, trying to find a good outfit to wear for the day. After a bit, I eventually settled for a plain black and white shirt with some black pants. It was pretty basic, but stylish. I shrugged and walked out of my room.

I marched down the grand staircase and jogged to the kitchen only to be greeted with a tackle. It was my younger by 5 minutes twin brother. I groaned in annoyance and tried prying his arms off of me myself, but ultimately failed as his arms held onto my neck like a blood sucking parasite. I sighed and accepted my faith while walking to the dining table and sitting down. Before my ass could hit the chair, Tsukasa got off me and ran beside me, taking his own seat. Finally!

My mother finally came along, bringing some delicious meals and placing them in front of us. It was a simple ramen, but my mom always findd a way to spice it up. It always turned out delicious somehow. I dunno, maybe it's just mom power. I took my chopsticks and silently muttered a "Thank you for the food" befote digging in. As always, her cooking catches me by positive surprise. Always so good! Not as good as her donuts though. Nothing will top those.

"So Amane," Mom suddenly speaks up, wiping her red lips with a small napkin. I looked up at her, eyes holding impatience and curiousity on what she has to say. "You're turning 16. What would you like as a birthday gift?" She smiles and marched to me, kissing the top of my head. I placed a finger on my chin, my head holding wonders. What DO I want for my 16th birthday? I mean, I could always ask for another astronomy poster... But eh, I have a few dozen of them already. Space pins? Nah. Too childish. Show tickets? Nah, no shows are previewing any time soon.

My head turned to my mom "Well... I'm not actually sure" I scratched the back of my neck, feeling a bit awkward as I said this to my mother. Afterall, I always knew what I wanted for my birthday every since I learned what space was. But now? I think I need a change of pace. A small break and let my mind wander back to earth, yknow?

My mother looked at me for a moment before smiling and patting my shoulders. "Well then, why don't you talk a walk? Maybe it'll clear your mind for now" Her soft smile was enough to convince me to do what she said. I nodded, grabbed my platd, places it on the sink and walked to the backyard..

Once I knew he wasn't listening in, I turned to my other son and grabbed his shoulders. "Tell me everything. Now" I demanded firmly. Tsukasa nods and puts on his sunglasses... Even though we were inside the house... My kids are strange. He cleared his throat amd removed my hands from his shoulders. "Well, let me tell you this mother; his life is pretty uneventful and boring. He's doing well in his classes... But" I stopped him right there. I grabbed his shoulders again and stared him into his eyes, making sure my gaze burned through his skull. But what? What could possibly be wrong?

"But what, dear?" I asked gently, but intimidatingly. He chuckles and shoom his head in a dismissive manner "He's getting bullied, mama. We should get him something he can use to protect himself with" My blood instantly boiled. My son? Bullied? Not on my watch!

"I need to get him something more..." I then snapped my fingers as a light blub flicked open. What if.. He got someONE to protect him? Likr a bodyguard? My motherly instincts turned on. I needes to protect my child, no matter what it takes. Afterall, what sort of mother would I be if I didn't care.

I smiled gently at my younger son and caressed his head. "My darling, I'm going to get your brother a body guard. Thoughts?" I hoped he agreed to this idea. It wad a good one! Amane would be protected after all. Tsukasa thought for a moment and grinned.

"Yea. A bodyguard sounds good"
