Y/N was woken up early by Kaoru, who was smiling down at her with a soft look in his eyes. As Y/N sat up on her bed, she rubbed her eyes and looked over at Kaoru, smiling as he pressed a small kiss on her cheek. "Happy Birthday, Y/N~" Kaoru sweetly said, Y/N blushing as she remembered what day it was.

Y/N never had the chance to celebrate her birthday, as she was convinced by her mother that it was useless to. "Everyday is somebody's birthday." Y/N's mother would say to her whenever Y/N would bring up that today's was hers, "So why should we celebrate yours?"".

So, seeing somebody tell her "Happy Birthday" much less know that it was her birthday came to her surprise....and joy. Kaoru chuckled when he saw Y/N's blush, ruffling her hair as he told her "Come downstairs, I got something for you.". Y/N blushed even more, watching Kaoru leave her room.

"Does...Does he have a present for me?" Y/N thought, getting up from her bed and quickly going downstairs to see what Kaoru got her. As Y/N went down the last step, she looked over at Kaoru and saw that he was sitting on the couch, a long black box in his arms.

Kaoru noticed Y/N, smiling softly at her and motioned her to come over and sit down next to him. As Y/N did, Kaoru handed her the black box, saying to her "Open it, It's yours...". Y/N nodded, a small smile on her face as she slowly opened the lid of the box.

Y/N's eyes went wide with wonder when she saw what was inside

It was an electronic skateboard with (F/C) colored outlines. "Found about what happened with your old skateboard." Kaoru said, seeing a big smile appear on Y/N's face, "So, I made you a new one.". Just than, the (F/C) outlines on the skateboard began to glow as a robotic male voice came out from it saying "Hello Master."

Kaoru chuckled as Y/N gave him back the box, fearful over the skateboard now. "Don't worry, He serves you now" Kaoru said, handing the box back to Y/N. Y/N tilted her head, confused on what Kaoru meant. "He's like Carla, and he'll be your personal AI assistant as well as your skateboard from now on." Kaoru explained, Y/N now fully understanding and grabbing the skateboard out from the box.

"You still have to name him..." Kaoru told Y/N, Y/N looking down at the skateboard and shaking her head. "No, I want to try him out right now!" Y/N said, standing up and running outside to skate on the AI board. Kaoru laughed, about to get up from the couch and follow Y/N, but stopped when he remebered something.

Kaoru took a piece of crumbled paper out, straightening it and giving it a close inspection as he reread the bold words on the top of the paper. "CUSTODY BATTLE LOST" were what they said, making Kaoru try to hold back tears as he was now remined of what he was supposed to tell Y/N.

"Dad! Are you coming?" Y/N called out, Kaoru looking up to see that Y/N was now skating on the AI board. Kaoru crumbled the piece of paper in his hand and nodded, throwing it behind him as he got up and went to hwere Y/N was.

"I don't need to tell her now...."

It was late at night when Y/N heard noises come from downstairs, waking up from how loud they were. Y/N couldn't make out what the noises were, but it sounded like people talking. Y/N got up from her bed, quietly opening her door and heading downstairs to get a better listen to what was being said.

Y/N hid behind a wall, peaking around it to see that Kaoru was talking to two men wearing suits. "Dad?" Y/N thought, seeing that Kaoru had a frown on his face when he listened to the men wearing suits were talking to him about. Y/N went a bit closer, wanting to pay attention to what the two men were talking about....and wishing she could unhear it when she did.

"I know this is hard for you, Mr.Sakurayashiki." one of the men said, Kaoru sighing and nodding as he looked up at the two, "But you have to choose a date on when you will give Y/N back to the Shindo Family.". "Why do you say it like that?" Kaoru muttered, The men both rasing their eyebrows when they heard that.

"What do you mean Mr.Sakurayashiki?" "Saying that I have to give her back...." "Well, in law-" "She was never apart of the Shindo family!" Kaoru stood up, pushing the chair he was sitting on. Kaoru felt anger bubbling inside him, trying to calm down and now release all the anger inside him. "Where were they for the last nine years of her life?" Kaoru breathed heavily, leaning on the wall as The other man helped calm him down, the man talking to him pushing his glasses up.

Just than, the three heard footsteps running up the steps and a door slamming shut. "Is that?..." one of the men said, Kaoru nodding and going up the stairs. When Kaoru went up to Y/N's room, he saw the door tightly locked, Kaoru smirking sadly and knocking on the door. Kaoru stood in front of the door, eventually hearing a small lock sound and footsteps coming from inside the room.

Kaoru than opened the door, seeing the room's lights were off and that Y/N was hiding under her blankets on her bed. Kaoru chuckled, going over to Y/N and starting rubbing her back. "Y/N..." Kaoru mumbled, Y/N removing the blanket from her face and looking up at him.

Kaoru saw that Y/N had red and puffy eyes, coming to the conclusion that she was crying from hearing his conversation with the social workers. "You promised..." Y/N said, wiping her tears away as Kaoru frowned and looked at Y/N, "You promised that he wouldn't take me away...".

"I know darling...." Kaoru said, feeling tears go down his face. Y/N sat up on her bed, Kaoru sitting next to her and holding her tigthly. "I tried...I really did but they..." Kaoru choked back a sob, Y/N beginning to cry into his chest.

"I'm sorry....." Kaoru muttered, Y/N nodding and snuggling into him. Kaoru than took his glasses off and wiped his face, looking down at Y/N and saying to her "Promise me...you'll never forget me....okay?". Y/N nodded, making Kaoru smile and place a kiss on her forehead.

Y/N looked out the car window, watching as other cars passed through the ones she was in. Tadashi looked at Y/N through the rear window, his face softening when he saw the frown on her face. He had just witnessed the separation between Y/N and Kaoru, watching the two's farewell before Y/N had to be driven off to live with her "Family" that now had cusotdy of her.

Tadashi wished that there was another way other than the Shindo family taking full custody of Y/N, but he couldn't say anything. Y/N and Ainosuke were on....good terms. They weren't at the level were Y/N outright considered Ainosuke her father, especially after what now was happenning.

Tadashi stopped the car as it reached the Shindo family manor, Tadashi softly shook Y/N to get her attention. "We're here..." Tadashi said, Y/N looking at him and sitting up on her seat. Y/N grabbed her luggage that was placed o the seat next to her, Tadashi frowning and getting out from the driver's seat of the car.

Tadashi opened the car door for Y/N, Y/N slowly stepping out and pulling her luggage out. "Welcome, Y/N Shindo." Tadashi said, Y/N cringing at the word. Tadashi went to the front door of the manor and opened it, Y/N nervously going up the stairs and standing in front of the manor with a worried look on her face.

Tadashi watched Y/N as she took her first step into the manor, following her inside and closing the door. "Tadashi, nice to see that you're back!" Ainosuke said, a smile on his face as he approached his secretary. However, he stopped when he noticed that Y/N was with Tadashi, forgetting that this was the day that Y/N was to live with the Shindo family.

Ainosuke looked at Y/N, smiling softly at her and kneeled to her height, patting Y/N's head. "Hello, Y/N~" Ainosuke said, Y/N shifting her eyes away from him and biting her lip. Ainosuke sighed, standing up and taking Y/N's hand. "Take my daughter's things to her room." Ainosuke ordered Tadashi, Tadashi nodding and taking the luggage up the stairs.

"You still have to meet my aunts...." Ainosuke said, Y/N shyly looking at him as he brought her to the living room. When the two went into the living room, Y/N saw that there was three women sitting at a table, the table being decorated with fancy tea cups and sophisticated snacks. "They look stuck up..." Y/N thought, hiding behind Ainosuke when she saw the three women.

"Did you bring your daughter to meet us?" One of the aunts said, the aunt having long purple hair. Ainosuke nodded, looking back at Y/N and gently brushing her hair with his hand. "Say Hello, Y/N..." Ainosuke told Y/N, Y/N looking up at him and slowly moving away from him.

The aunts gasped when they saw Y/N, not expecting her appearance to be what it was. Y/N knew she looked different, as she had tannish skin compared to the ivory skin the Shindo family had. It was something she had inherited from her mother, Her mother being Blasian which explained the more darker skin tone they had.

"My names....Y/N....." Y/N shyly said, twiddling her thumbs as she looked down. At first silence came from the aunts, but soon the aunt with the long purple hair only smiled and said to Y/N "Well, Y/N...Welcome to the family.". The aunt stood up, going over to Y/N and admiring her look, as if she never saw somone like her before.

Y/N blushed shyly, stepping back a bit as the aunt only giggled. "Auntie, I think we should give Y/N her space...". Ainosuke said, smiling at his aunt who looked at him and smiled back. The aunt nodded, looking back at Y/N and telling her "How about you go and see your room?". Y/N nodded, leaving the living room and going up the stairs up to her room.

When Y/N went into her room, she noticed just how big it was. It was like something for a princess, something that last two rooms she had when living with her mom and Kaoru couldn't be described as. Y/N went to her bed, seeing that a dress was already laid out for her

Y/N picked up the dress, admiring it as she gave it a look. Y/N than put it back on the bed, going over to her suitcase, and zipping it open to see her AI skateboard.

Y/N smiled, holding the skateboard close as she sat down on her bed. "Kaoru..." Y/N muttered, smiling softly as the skateboard (F/C) outlines started to glow, the glow being reassuring to Y/N.

"That's what I will name you...."

Ainosuke stood still as the ruler hit his arm, not bothering to show any emotion. He been through this before, the only difference being that he was aware on what it was. "You dare sleep with a whore!" One of Ainosuke aunts yelled, slamming the ruler onto his arm again.

Ainosuke didn't say anything, his aunt yelling at him again "And you bring the child of the whore to our home?!". As his aunts glared at him, Ainosuke muttered under his breath "She's my child too...". Ainosuke's aunts's eyes widened, not expecting Ainosuke to back talk.

Ainsouke was than slapped across his face, him holding the part of his cheek where his aunt's hand made impact with his face. "How dare you say that whore child is apart of our family..." Ainosuke's aunt said, Ainosuke giving an glare to his aunt as he bit his lip.

"Get out..."The aunt muttered, Ainosuke looking at her as she looked away and gave him one last glare, "That whore child is lucky that she's even staying with us...."
