[Peaceful]

Going outside at the brink of dusk had been a routine (y/n) always followed.

Just seeing the sunset and the Beautiful, magical scenery it produces set her mind at peace.

As she climbed up the stairs that lead to her favourite spot, dusk had already broken through the sky meaning that the sunset was almost over so (y/n) picked up her pace.

Only few more steps left until she reached the very top when a scream cut through the once peaceful silence.

Her heart thumped, hearing that the scream was of fear and hesitated on wether or not to see what was going on or save her own life.

The curiosity within her, however, chose the second and risky answer which lead her to continue those 6 steps up.

Once reaching the very top, no one was surprisingly there. No scared-to-death person or any killer covered in blood.

It was just the usual sight (y/n) sees every dusk; the rock seats surrounding a marble table, the green grass with weeds all over the hill as well as different color trees and the fence to enable anyone from falling, overlooking the panoramic view of (y/n)'s clan and some mountain, the sun setting behind them.

Though no one was in her sight, the rustling of leaves and bushes that was swept by the cool wind made it as if millions of heads are peeking out from those places.

That thought didn't made (y/n) creeped out at all, in fact, it made her feel at ease knowing she has some "companions".

She walked towards the rock seats and occupied the very front that presented the now starfilled sky above the bright city.

Peace washed over her whole existence at that moment, closing all her senses thus not hearing the distinct rustles of someone creeping from within the trees.

Liang's target suddenly screamed, not giving him the chance to inject the poison and made him flee, the targeted male over his shoulders as he leaped up towards a tree.

As expected, a figure emerged from where he once was and looked around for the person who made the horrified scream.

Liang didn't pay any mind to the new party and continued his mission.

Careful and silent, he descended from the thick branch and elegantly landed on the soft grass covered ground.

He leisurely put the man from his shoulders—knocked out due to shock— down on the ground and took out a syringe filled with purple, bubbling liquid and proceeded to stab it into the man's nape.

Once the deed was done, he moved the man somewhere more comfortable and jumped back to another tree, This time, nearer to the chilling spot so he could make sure the person didn't see anything.

To his surprised, it was a fair looking female, peacefulness written all over her face as if she didn't hear the commotion from before.

He silently watched her, his long hair, tied into a night ponytail flowing with the gentle yet cold breeze that didn't affect the girl's bair skin at all.

Her features are soft yet striking, small delicate figure and silkly (length) hair flowing with the wind along with her blossom pink hanfu*, she was slightly above average but not in the stage where everyone will fawn over her.

*A traditional Chinese dress. This is modern so it's not really necessary to wear a hanfu but since it is china(A world filled with traditions), I'll keep it. It's up to the readers though.

The branch liang was crouching on was quite big and sturdy looking but since it was attached to a dying tree, of course it will break sooner or later, especially when someone put it's weight to it.

Liang didn't realize he was on a dying tree until a snap from Below filled his ears.

Normally, his reaction time would be fast and ready to bolt away but from gazing at the girl for so long, he was caught of guard and couldn't jump on time.

The branch snapped and fell down along with liang. thankfully, he fell on another branch so he was saved from the fall but in the price of him hanging upside down.

The girl was still in her own world, all five senses closed with only her mind open and filled with peace which meant she couldn't hear or see Liang's struggle.

He tried to get himself unstuck but luck just wasn't on his side as Below him were Beautiful roses that was, however, decorated with nasty thorns.

Those thorns just so happened to cover the trunk leading up to the branch he was hanging on and the thorns already damaging Liang's leg, sticking to his skin.

He complained silently, Of all places, why under this tree!?

He would have asked (y/n) for help but working in a strict and on top of that, well known mafia organization really has its perks and rules.

One of which is; Not let yourself be seen or heard before and after confiscating the target.

He already broke the 'not to be heard' and will definitely not dare break the other one but in his situation, there's no helping it.

Someone who's meditating was the same as someone who's in a deep sleep, waking (y/n) up would be hard and quite risky. Risky because there's no way of knowing if she's a Qigong user or not, if she is, then stopping or distracting her from meditating would anger her, possibly sending recentful energy to liang, well that depends on her temper.

Right now, he's taking every risk there is as long as he could end this embarrassing situation of his.

He hastily took out a dagger and positioned it to have great speed and accurate landing. In his position, it was quite hard but this is liang we're talking about, what can he NOT do?

Lightning fast, he sent the dagger aiming at the still at peace (y/n), it landing a few meters behind her which failed to catch her attention.

Laing cursed before fishing out another dagger and this time, made sure that it will land infront of her.

Just like the other one, he threw it but with much more force than the previous one, successfully landing infront of y/n) and even pinning a portion of her silky robe.

She scruched her eyebrows a bit, finding it hard to open her eyes. When she finnaly opened them, her (color) orbs landed on the iron black dagger getting a hold of  her dress and took it out, inspecting it.

Did someone wanted to kill me....!? It was thrown with much power so the user must be skilled and no way could they miss... Or is this a way to catch my attention?

Liang didn't utter a word even though he wanted help but (y/n) already sensed his presence.

Turning around, her robe and hair flowed with her movements and locked eyes with a stranger who was hanging from a tree, upside down.

Her gaze on him was soft and held confusion as well as surprised, the moon's brightness casting down on her form, painting highlights behind her making (y/n) looked heavenly.

She just gazed at him, not knowing what she's supposed to do.

Liang akwardly coughed and softly asked, "Could... Could you help me?"

It took (y/n) some moments to process his question before slowly walking to where he is and realized that rose thorns decorated the ground Below him, climbing the tree trunk as well.

Without any words, she faced her palm towards the overgrown rose roots and focused her energy on her palm, blasting a beam of blue lights of energy.

Liang was surprised and exclaimed in his thoughts, So she is a Qigong user!

The roses along with the deadly thorns disinegrated with that one blast she produced, making liang heave a sigh of relief.

With the branch now free from the thorns, he grabbed it and hoped down, patting his combat clothes from dust and leaves.

He held his arms infront of him and respectfully bowed at the girl who saved him.

"Thank you, sister*. I appreciate the help."

*In China, wether blood related or not, it's formal to call anyone "brother" or "sister".

(Y/n) gestured shyly that it wasn't necessary to bow that low for such a simple and little thing she did, "Please, it's not a problem at all."

Liang stood up straight again, looking at (y/n) with his cold magenta eyes, an uneasy feeling washed over (y/n) for being stared so intently.

"If you don't mind me asking, did you hear a scream earlier? Around the time when the sun was setting," he asked, straightforwardly.

(Y/n) nodded and answered, "Yes, but when I found out no one was here, I thought nothing of it. I'm guessing you're here for the same reason?"

Cold sweat trickled down his nape and stammered slightly as he said, "yeah... I-i heard it as well and came here to investigate..."

She didn't see his stammering as an act of lying and just smiled.

"I see. Then care to join me? I'll have to take a look at your legs as well, maybe some thorns stuck on it." He wanted to refuse but seeing as she was no threat, he leisurely nodded his head before carefully getting dragged by (y/n).

She sat him infront of her and lifted his trousers up to his knees so as too look for any infection.

Once she saw that there were some bruises and indeed some thorns stuck on his pale skin, she took out a pouch filled with medical herbs.

While applying the herbs on his second wound, she asked, "May I ask for your name, brother?"

"My name is Liang, and yours is..?"

"Call me (y/n)."

After applying the herbs and properly securing it with her scarf, the two sat on the cold stone seats for awhile, watching and feeling the warmth of the moon at peace.

Liang woke up from his slumber and rubbed his head in frustration.

Tears threatened to spill from his magenta eyes that were once so bright as he recalled a memory with her.

Taking out a simple brown box from under his bed, he opened it and took out a long silky object with Beautiful flowers decorating it as well as a bit of blood stains.

He held it firmly on his chest, as if hugging someone, not wanting to let go, and looked at the shining moon.

The same Moon they gazed at on that peaceful night.

As he looked at (y/n)'s old scarf, he imagined hearing the voice that has already gone silent and painfully said,
"Rest in peace.."
