You had woken up in a classroom. The classroom had at least 2 security cameras, and the windows where bordered. Well not exactly bordered they were sealed tight using big sheets of metal and massive bolts. Bright yellow wallpaper. A hideous pattern might many may say. It was tacky.
"Huh? A pamphlet?"
You picked up the neatly folded paper and begun to read it. Maybe it would give me a indication of what had happened. At least answer to why you were here. Instead of anywhere else much more fun or pleasent to be. "Is this some kind of cruel joke? This looks like some 5-year-old made this!"
This was mockery at its finest.
The pamphlet had read: 'Hey there New Kid! The next semester is about to start. Starting today this school will be your entire world.'
"Entire world?" Why would this school become my entire world? What do they mean by this. "I don't think I can stand this ugly wallpaper anymore!" You mumbled under your breath. Not that you were wrong. Neon yellow paired with black stripes is a crime. At least, to you it is, apprently not to the designer.
Lost in thought you had began to walk down a hallway. Following the allocated signs to the gym. Your eyes scanning the walls and other things in the building. Looking at more barred and sealed windows. As well as the stairwell, which was tightly sealed. No way up or down. In the gym there were 15 other students. All distinct and different. Far from bland, well, aside from one brown haired boy. Looking at everyone is a mash of colours, all strewed in the one room.
"Now then!" Something that was not in the room had talked, it had a annoying sounding voice. Squeeky to the point it made your blood boil.
"WHO IN THE HELL SAID THAT!" Boomed a more muscular guy with his hair looking poofy up top. To you, his hair looked whack. But just seeing his face, you could tell he had anger issues. Big ones at that.
"It was MEEEE! I'm your headmaster! Monokuma!" Called a round half and half bear. It looked creepy in a way. Eerie even.
"Why should we listen to some remote-controlled bear?" Called out one of the other people. Seemingly also insulted to be in the presence of whatever this 'Monokuma' is.
"I AM NOT A STUFFED BEAR! I am your Headmaster Monokuma!" The small bear whined. Throwing it's arm's up in the air to emphasize that it's annoyed. Like a animal trying to make itself bigger to be more... intimidating. But that wasn't working, Monokuma was small. Like a toy you give to a young child.
"Sure! Its 100% not a remote-controlled bear! This is just some cruel joke! Yeah! That's it!" You went on a tangent in your own head, trying to rationalize what's going on around you. What's your current situation. But no matter how hard you dare try, nothing can make this seem normal. It's too abnormal to be normalised.
"A really weird dream at most..."
You then later drifted off into your own room. Not bothering with anything else, you introduced yourself and left. That's basically what you did. You were filled with discontent. Staring at these walls like they were a prison. The morning after Monokuma had showed us the disturbing videos, we had all sat around a circular table in the dining hall. You were leaning back on your chair. Legs bent and on the table, swinging back and forth. You were undoubtedly focused on your E-Handbook and studying every last rule and learning more about your new classmates.
"It really would not surprise me if one of them killed tonight anyways. We all want to get out right?" You thought as your eyes followed along the table. Looking at each one of the people in the room. Who knows, they could all be killers. But your mind wandered. Thinking back to what you had seen in the video. It was motavation to leave this place and check if your loved ones were okay. Safe and unharmed.
"Wait.... what where you guys talking about? I kind of zoned off." You asked, chirping into their conversation. You had might as well put some kind of effort into what they are saying. It may be important.
"Miss (l/n)! I had expected better from the Ultimate Debater!" Ishimaru had scolded you. But for what? He had no reason to, so what if you had zoned off? It was boring anyways. It was a regular conversation, not a debate. It didn't grab neither your attention or focus.
"Not MY fault you're boring me." You sneered back at him. Eyes rolling and made talking motions with your hand to signify sensless chatter. Senseless and boring chatter.
"Hey... umm... there's no reason to.... uhh fight!" Chihiro panicked, you assumed she was worried. Scared even. Does she not like fighting? But civilised arguments were what you were good at. Using logic and wit to our debate the opposition.
"Yamada!" You called out to him. Gaining his attention and may as well almost startled him.
"W-What? Anything I can do for Miss (l/n)?"
"Could you please go make me some milk tea?" As you said that he instantly got up and went to the kitchen to make your tea. Without a question or any strand of hesitation.
"You share an interest in milk tea?" Celeste had caught an interest in what was going on. Her otherwise cold and distaant look in her eye vanished. Her intrest now peaked in the topic of tea.
"Oh! You do to? Milk Tea is one my favorite teas!" If you're going to be kept here against your will, you may as well make a friend. A friend that shares a common interest in tea. How lovely.
"Well what other teas peak your fancy?" Celeste was steering the conversation into which tea I fancy. Now, this is your kind of conversation. Well, still not quite. Conversation barely intrested you at all, you liked debating. That was your go to, but you have came to accept you can't argue with everyone.
"I also rather enjoy (insert tea you like here)" Sharing your preferences with her.
"Could we stop talking about damn teas for a minute?" Owada had asked, putting a damper on the whole tea coversation. His tone was curt and his eyes showed many shades of annoyance under the surface. To you, its hard to take him seriously with his weird hair cut.
Yamada had came out of the kitchen with your tea. It was in a delicate little tea cup. Matching small plate and cup, and the design was quite intricate. Small little flowers paired with a bunch of swirls.
"Here is your tea Miss (l/n)!" You took a sip out of tea he had prepared. It did not taste like the milk tea you grew to know and love dearly. It tasted foul. Like something crawled into the cup a died there, then died again. You wiped your mouth on a napkin. Face contorting into one of disgust.
"Hey, Celeste does this taste like milk tea to you?" You passed her your cup, filled with the vomit inducing liquid. Feeling bad for letting her taste something as gross as that. She had token a delicate little sip, just enough to take a taste without offending the drinks owner for taking too big of a sip.. Her face had soured. She tasted it too. Not just you.
"Yamada, what is this?" She questioned trying not to shout. It was clear there was a hint of anger in her voice. She showed no restraint in voicing how disgusting this sad excuse for milk tea is.
"It's uhh, milk tea. Just like Miss (l/n) requested."
Just before Celeste was going to shout and scold Yamada bout the tea, potentially starting a fight. Makoto had walked in. Eyes droopy and still fufilled with lingering tiredness.
"Good Morning, Makoto!" You greeted him, taking a break from the senseless chatter around you. Smiling at the shorter and more adverage looking boy.
"Good Morning, but where is Sayaka?" He asked. Yawning as he did so, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
"She might have been tired! She might still be in her room." Leon had said. His voice convincing and somewhat unwavering. Like he was lying almost. Makoto had ran out of the dining hall. You had followed suit. Running down after him. Your (insert shoe of choice) calttered against the schools floor.
But when you had entered Mizono's room, just moments after Makoto. Your heart and stomach sank. And it wasn't because of Yamada's sorry excuse for milk tea. You checked the bathroom, you had seen saw Makoto passed out on the floor. When you looked up to see Mizono dead against the bathroom wall. A murder had taken place.
Mizono was dead. Someone had murdered her in her own bathroom. You leaned against the wall, just frozen. Scared to even move. The familiar feeling of vomit building up in your throat, threatening to overspill out onto the tiled floors.
"A Body has been discovered!" Was over the PA after a small and concise jingle. Which was the last thing you heard before everything went black.
