(A/N: Helloooo! Thanks for clicking on this fanfiction! I just wanted to say quick if you don't play guitar or not any instrument in general, you might not understand some of the words in this book. If you don't, feel free to ask in the comments, I will gladly reply :) Oh and something I wanted to point out is, I'm gonna write Ayaka more in a teeny way. Like how she acts and talks. Since characters in this book are mostly teen age (14-18) Thanks and have fun reading!)
I was walking to school with my best friend Yoimiya. Like always we bring our guitars to school. Today I had my Strandberg boden+ NX7 true temperament in glacier blue. My favorite. Yoimiya was carrying her Epiphone Les Paul Modern Figured Magma in an orange fade. (A/N: Couldn't think of another one that would fit her lmao)
Yoimiya and I always wanted to be in a band but we can't find other people who play instruments and want to be in a band. Until now, at least.
"If I'm completely honest, I would stay at home if I could." Yoimiya laughed at my behavior. Today is our first day of school after summer break. Our teacher told us we are getting two new students in our class. I'm curious who they might be.
We entered the building. Yoimiya and I are in the same class and this year we also have the same teacher. I don't really mind because she's nice. We took our seats and waited for class to start.
The teacher came in and greeted us. "Hello everyone. I hope you had a good summer break. As you maybe still remember, we will get 2 new students in our class. The students are both boys. They will come in the afternoon. Okay, let's start then." I sighed and took out my books.
The teacher was yapping the whole time something about math.
The time went by really fast and it was already noon. Yoimiya and I most of the times eat outside on a bench next to a big tree, when it's good weather. We ate our food and then took out our guitars. "Do you think the new guys play an instrument?", Yoimiya said as she tuned her guitar. "Maybe. Ya never know. I do hope so."
After tuning our instruments we played together. "Alright. The new riff you wrote is amazing!", Yoimiya said. "I tried writing it as hard as possible, but comes out it's actually really easy.", I said.
We continued playing until the bell rang and we had to pack our stuff. "Are you excited for the new students?", Yoimiya asked me as we walked up the stairs to our classroom. "Yeah. Good that we have music classes today.", I said and entered the classroom. Our teacher and almost all of the students were there too, under the students, the 2 new ones were also there. I smiled at Yoimiya and sat down at my desk.
One of them is apperantly sitting next to me. The boy guy has white hair and red horns. Pretty unique I must say.
"Okay, class. The 2 new ones are here too. Could you maybe introduce yourselves?", the teacher asked. The boys nodded and the lightbrown-haired boy started. "I'm Thoma. I'm 17 years old and my hobby is playing bass.", he said and smiled. I looked at Yoimiya and smiled. "I'm Arataki Itto, for short just Itto. I'm also 17 years old. In my free time I play the drums.", he said.
I again looked at Yoimiya and smiled. Jackpot. "Thank you two. Okay, let's begin with biology." Biology class was boring like always. I was just waiting for the music class. I didn't really listen to what our teacher was talking about. Instead, I was drawing in my notebook.
After something that felt like an eternity, biology classes were over, and now it's music's time to shine. I walked with Yoimiya to the music room. Here we don't really have a specific place to sit. We just sit where we feel like sitting.
For music classes, there are two rooms. 1 where we sing together and do theory stuff. In that room, it has one big piano, a keyboard, and an electric drum kit. The second one is for instrumental classes. The room is equipped with 2 pianos, 1 acoustic and 1 electric drum kit, 4 ukuleles, 2 electric basses, 4 electric guitars, 2 acoustic guitars, and 3 xylophones.
We entered the music room and took a seat. "Hello class!", the music teacher greeted us. "How I see the two new students are here too. Amazing! Thoma and Arataki Itto right?", he asked. The boys nodded. "You can take a seat where you want."
When we were all seated the teacher said some unimportant stuff. "Okay, for the first lesson, we'll go to the instrument room.", he said. We stood up and entered the other room.
"Okay, class. Who plays an instrument which we also have here?", the teacher asked. Ayaka, Thoma, Itto and I raised our arm. "4 this year, great! For those who already had music classes with me know that after the summer break, everyone who plays an instrument can play something in front of the class, alone." I looked at Ayaka and smiled again.
"Thoma do you want to start?", he asked. "Sure.", he said and picked up a bass. He plugged it into the amp and played something really cool. "Thanks that was really good.", the teacher said when he finished. "Thanks.", Thoma said and unplugged the bass. He put it back where it was and walked to Itto again.
"Yoimiya your turn." Yoimiya picked up the Fender Telecaster and plugged it into an amp. "I'm gonna play a riff I wrote by myself.", she said and played her riff. After her, it was Itto's turn.
He sat down and took the drumsticks in his hand. "Uh well, I'm just gonna improve.", he said. Judging by his words I kinda thought he's a newbie and didn't know a lot about drums but I was completely wrong.
He was nailing it. Even though he 'improved' it was amazing. Almost forgot to blink when I realized I was up after him.
"That was amazing.", the teacher said. "Thanks a lot.", Itto said and put the drumsticks back. He stood up and walked back.
"(Y/N), you're the last one.", he said. "Good luck", Yoimiya said. I nodded and walked up to the guitars and picked up a Fender Stratocaster in black. I plugged it in an amp, turned the distortion on 6, and grabbed a pick behind me.
"Uh well, I'm gonna sing the chorus of a song I wrote and play the guitar solo which comes right after it.", I said and smiled. "Okay let's hear it.", the teacher said. I turned the volume of the guitar louder.
I started singing and playing the guitar in my hands. After singing the chorus it was the solo's turn. I personally would say I nailed it too.
I was nervous but still managed to sing and play without making any mistakes. I looked at Itto and saw him looking at me already. I smiled at him, which he returned.
I turned off the amp and put everything back where I took it. "Wow, you have a really pretty voice. That was great.", the teacher said. "Thanks.", I said and walked to Yoimiya
"You did amazing.", she said. "Thanks. You did too."
After some other stuff we did the teacher said we'll do a 5-minute break. Yoimiya and I went in the hallway and sat down on a bench next to the door. We talked to each other for about 2 minutes until Thoma and Itto showed up.
"Uh hey Yoimiya and (Y/N) right?", he asked. We nodded and greeted them. "It's a rather random question but are you two in a band?", Thoma asked us. 'Is he gonna say what I'm thinking?'
"No we aren't.", I said looking at Yoimiya. "Oh, that's great. Well, we two are in a band, with another girl named Ayaka, who is also a student here but in a different class, and we are missing guitarists. I know it came kinda out of the blue but the two spots are open for you two. You would fit amazingly in the band.", Thoma said smiling
I looked at Yoimiya before grinning wildly. "Of course! Both of us always wanted to be in a band. Ah god, I'm so happy right now!", I said. "Welcome to the band then!" I looked at the boys and smiled. They smiled back.
We continued classes, which felt like an eternity. After that, we packed our stuff and left the school building. Thoma took his phone and called the girl named Ayaka. "Uh hey, we are in front of the school gates. And we got a surprise.", Thoma said. I smiled knowing the surprise he was talking about was me and Yoimiya being in the band.
"A surprise?! Ooh! Okay, I'm coming as fast as I can!", Ayaka said and hung up. Thoma silently laughed. "I think you will like her.", Itto said smiling. We waited a few minutes and then a pale white-blue haired girl showed up.
"Hey everyone!", she said and waved to us not even realizing she didn't know us. She was probably way too focused on the surprise. "So what's the surprise you got?", she asked Thoma. He pointed to us. "Oh hey, I didn't even realize I don't know you. I'm Ayaka nice to meet you two!", she said. I could tell she was really happy right now.
Yoimiya and I introduced us too. "But why are they the surprise?", Ayaka asked kind of confused. "Our new band members.", Itto said smiling at her. I could see Ayaka's eyes sparkling. She took a hand of me and Yoimiya in each of hers and smiled widely. "You two play guitar? That's amazing! I like you two already.", Ayaka said and pulled us into a hug. I smiled.
"She might be annoying sometimes but other than that she is pretty amazing.", Itto said and chuckled. "I heard that.", Ayaka replied and smiled too. We pulled away from each other breaking the hug. "Okay sorry I was a bit too excited.", Ayaka said, scratching the back of her head. "It's okay don't worry."
"So. Well Thoma's house has a backyard with a small house standing back there. We practice there. Oh yeah, and I'm the keyboardist. Welcome to the band.", Ayaka said with a sweet smile. "Thanks", Yoimiya and I said.
"How about we go there? We can show you everything.", Itto suggested. "Great idea."; Thoma said. Ayaka and I agreed. We started walking to Thoma's house. "I'm gonna text my mom quick that I'm coming home later tonight." I wrote her a message to which she replied with: 'Okay have fun :D'
I put my phone inside my pocket and looked to my left only to see Yoimiya talking with Ayaka and Thoma. 'Guess I'll chat a bit with Itto.' "(Y/N), is playing guitar hard?", he asked me before I could say anything. "Nah not really. I have played guitar since I was 8 years old.", I said and smiled at Itto. "Since you're 8 years old? Wow, that's impressive! I only play the drums since I'm 13." Itto chuckled a bit after saying that.
"4 years is pretty impressive too, y'know?" I smiled at Itto. "I guess so." He smiled too and rubbed the back of his neck. I chuckled a bit seeing that.
"Do you have a lot of songs?" I asked. "I'd say we have a decent amount of songs for being a band for 3 years." I imagined how Itto, Thoma, and Yoimiya would play together. I smiled at the thought. I was happy that I could consider myself a member of this band. After a few minutes, we arrived at Thoma's house.
The practice room was a lot bigger than I expected. I couldn't help but let out a quiet "Wow". I smiled when I looked around the room. In the back, there was a super cool looking drum kit and a keyboard. In the front on the left, there was a black bass on a stand and two empty places in the middle and on the right. In the middle, a microphone was placed. There were also amplifiers and guitar pedals. Seems like they were prepared.
I put down my gig bag. All of us sat down on a couch together. "Okay, first I wanna know something.", I started. "Who's the vocalist?" I asked in an excited voice. "Ahem," Thoma said. He scratched his neck and then looked at me.
"We don't have a vocalist yet. Our songs have text but no one sings them. We were hoping someone of you two could be the vocalist." After Thoma said that, Yoimiya looked at me. "That's gonna be you." she said. "Me? Are you sure?" I asked, just to be sure. Yoimiya nodded. "Of course!", she said.
"Okay. Perfect. Now, who of you plays rythm and who lead?", Thoma asked. "I'll play rythm!", I said and raised my hand. "But you're way better than me. You'll handle solos way better.", Yoimiya said. "Playing lead and singing is kinda hard, y'know.", I said and looked at Yoimiya. We were discussing a bit when Ayaka suddenly said something.
"How about (Y/N) plays rythm but takes on the solos and Yoimiya plays lead?", she asked. "That sounds good.", I said. "Oh yeah it does.", Yoimiya replied. "Okay, nice!" Ayaka said and clapped her hands.
"Now that we got that out of the way, what do we do now?", Itto asked. "You could all play something for us.", I suggested. "Good idea.", Thoma said. The three stood up and walked to their instruments. After they got ready they played their newest song. During their performance I found myself looking at Itto quite often. Why? I had no idea.
After they played the song Yoimiya and I clapped our hands. "That was pretty cool!", I said and smiled. They thanked us. The rest of the evening, we just talked together and got to know each other better.
After some time, it was time to go. I grabbed all my stuff and waited for the others. Yoimiya, Ayaka and Itto grabbed their stuff too. We said goodbye to Thoma and then left his house. First we all walked together but then had to split, since we all don't have the same way to go home. Though, Itto and I had a really similar way. Which meant we could walk together some more.
At first there was a really awkward silence. Usually I'm pretty social and can make new friends really quickly. But that was somehow not the case here. I was a bit nervous to speak. I didn't know why though. Itto seems like a really friendly and nice guy.
After a few minutes of silence, I decided to break the silence.
"Soo, have you guys never had a vocalist before? You already had quite the equipment for singing but didn't have someone who did it.", I asked and looked at Itto. "Oh we actually did have a vocalist but she had to quit the band 'cause she moved to another Nation.", Itto replied.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that. It must've been quite hard trying to get someone new for the spot.", I said. "It's okay. We have you and Yoimiya. You'll both do just as good.", he said and smiled at me. I smiled back. "Although the spot which Yoimiya has now was always free. We never managed to find another guitarist." Itto let out a little laugh. I had to too.
"I'll give it my best.", I said. I'm ready for whatever obstacle we'll face. "I'll do too.", Itto said and extended his hand for a fist bump. I chuckled and bumped his fist with mine.
I have a feeling that we'll get along well.
We then got to a spot where we had to split. "Well then. I'll see you tommorrow in school?", Itto said. I nodded. "Mhm. See you!", I said and smiled. "See you!", Itto replied and smiled back.
I then got home and entered my room. I sat down on my bed and sighed. "Wow. I'm in a band. My dream came true.", I said to myself and smiled.
I'm really curious to see how the band will be. But that's something for future me to worry about. Now I'm gonna take a shower!

(A/N: Helloo everyone!! I think no one of you knows me so yea I'm Rebeca. Thanks a lot for clickling on this fic. So I want to say some important things very quickly.
1. As already mentioned in the first A/N in the very beginning, I will write Ayaka more like a teenager. Cause in Genshin she's such an adult, if you know what I mean. I'll give her the teenie spice again.
2. Very important!! Sometimes I'll just upload nothing for an eternity. Don't worry, I'm not dead. It's just I often have a lot of stress in school. I'm in something like college in Switzerland.
3. I'll say it again, this is book is like in our world. Meaning there are electronics and everything is modern.
4. If you find any grammar mistakes, feel free to point them out. Apologies for that. English isn't my first language.
5. This is kind of just like a filler chapter to show how they became a band. The next one will have about a 1 month time skip.
Well, stay tuned for the next chapter! Bye everyone!!)
