LordRedsontlborn and Su_Akemi requested a non-binary oneshot.
Y/N Element: any
Y/N Pronouns: they/them
Y/N POV:
It was the night before spring break, and I was sitting in my dorm living room with my roommates Lake, Ghibli, and Rose. We are all students at an arts college. Rose and I had been close friends through all of high school, so we decided to go to the same college.
When we had first moved in to campus, we met our two roommates: Lake and Ghibli, romantic partners from Elemental City. Lake is non-binary, like me, and I was so happy to finally meet someone like me. Their girlfriend Ghibli was really sweet too. Obviously, I made it known to both of them that I was gay, so they didn't have to worry about anything happening.
Anyways, the four of us sat on our chairs and talked. Then Lake asked the group "What are you guys doing for spring break? Other than you of course, Ghibli."
Ghibli giggled, and she explained how her and Lake were going to Elemental City together to be with Lake's family.
Rose replied, "Oh, I'm going back to my home country to be with my family. I haven't seem then since last summer!"
Everyone looked at me, "What are you doing, Y/N?"
I looked down shyly. "I didn't have anything planned. I was going to stay on campus because going to my home country is too expensive."
Rose gave me a look of sympathy and Lake and Ghibli looked at each other, and then nodded. Then Lake turned to me.
"So, Ghibli and I were thinking, what if you came with us to Element City this break? It's great inspiration, and you'd get to meet my family!"
My eyes widened. "Oh, no I couldn't. Wouldn't your family care?"
They shook their head. "No! They love new visitors! Aaaaand, I have a single brother who's a little older than youuuuuuuuuuu."
They nudged me and I laughed nervously. "Lake...."
All of them laughed and then calmed down. Ghibli spoke up. "So, Y/N, is it a deal?"
I nodded, and then we all went to bed, ready for tomorrow.

It was now the next day, and we all were at the train station. Rose's train came before the our's, so we said bye to her first. A few minutes later, our's came, and we got on. The ride was an hour, but I didn't mind. I looked out the window and took inspiration.
As we got closer, I could see a large burst of color in the distant. I nudged Ghibli. "Is that Element City?"
She smiled widely and nodded. "Yup! It's even more pretty on the inside."
Once we made it into the city, I was engulfed in the liveliness and the colors. I was in pure shock and a state of total admiration. A few more minutes passed, and we made to our stop.
We got off, and I looked at Lake and Ghibli. "Well, you guys lead the way!"
They both nodded and began to walk and tell me about all the landmarks.
"Oh, don't worry, I told my mom that you're coming, so she won't be surprised." Lake smiled at me, and I smiled back.
We walked for a bit longer, but then they stopped in front of a mansion. "Well, this is the place!"
I stood there dumbfounded. I knew they had money, but good grief! The security guard let us in and then we walked to what looked like the living room. From what I could see, there were a lot of people. Across the ceiling hung a banner saying, "Welcome Home From College!"
Lake then cleared their throat, and everyone looked at us. They all began cheering and engulfed Lake and Ghibli into hugs. I stood back from the distance; they didn't need to know I was here. After a few moments, Lake's mom noticed my presence, and got really excited.
"I'm assuming you're Y/N? It's very nice to meet you!"
And just like that, I was the center of attention.
"I-it's nice to meet you too, Mrs. Ripple."
"Oh hun, just call me Brook."
I smiled and nodded, and people went back to what we were doing before. As I further inspected the room, I realized they were throwing a welcome back party, and there were board games on the table, food prepped in the kitchen, and the TV on.
Everyone moved to the kitchen to get food, and I was one of the last ones to go, but I was fine with that. I then proceeded to stay close to the kitchen, because I wasn't the most social person. I ate my food in peace until I heard someone clear their throat. I looked up to see a water guy smile at me. "So, you must be Y/N?"
I slowly nodded, unsure of who this man was.
"I'm Wade, Lake's older brother. They also told me that you're non-binary like them?"
"Yeah..." I spoke quietly.
"That's really cool. I'm actually pan." (BC THAT'S MY HEADCANNON SO DEAL WITH IT)
My eyes lit up, and I smiled. He then noticed how much I had on my plate. "You could get more if you wanted to."
I looked down, but then looked back up. "Oh, I don't eat a lot."
The rest of the night continued, and Wade and I talked through the night. We actually had quite a bit in common. When the night ended, Lake and Ghibli said I could sleep in their room because they had an extra mattress I could lay on the ground.
The three of us chatted and laughed for a bit, but then we were all exhausted, so we went to bed.

Through the week of spring break, Wade and I grew closer and closer. By the end, we were hanging out together every day. Lake and Ghibli figured out that I liked him, but they swore not to say anything.
It became the last day of spring break, and I was really sad to leave. To say the least, I became determined to move to Element City after college. Lake said that I should tell Wade how I felt, but I declined because doing a long-distance relationship is not easy, and who said he felt the same?
Lake and Ghibli were saying their goodbyes to their family, and I was in their room packing up my stuff. I heard a knock on the doorframe, and I turned around, to see it was Wade. We both smiled.
"Do you need any help packing up?"
I shook my head. "No, I'm just about done."
I put my last two pieces of clothing in my suitcase and zipped it. I stood up the suitcase and then turned back to Wade.
"Y'know, Y/N, I'm really sad to see you go. You're a really awesome person, don't forget that."
I blushed slightly. "Thanks Wade, same for you."
We zoned out into each other's eyes until he snapped out of it. "Oh! Here's my number so we can keep in touch!" He handed me a piece of paper, and I put it in my pocket.
We then went downstairs because it was time for Lake, Ghibli, and me to leave. We stepped outside and the entire family stayed inside, Wade at the front. Upon impulse, I hugged Wade, and he hugged back.
I whispered to him. "I'm gonna miss you."
"I'll miss you too Y/N."
We separated the hug, and a few people "awwed." He then smiled. "Hey, next time you have a break from school, let me know so we can hang out."
I nodded. "You bet!"
Lake, Ghibli, and I then walked back to the train station and headed back to campus. I was really sad that spring break was over, but excited because of what bloomed from it.
