- elwin felt like he could balance books and calculate numbers before he could walk. as the younger son he was the spare to his older brothers heir which suited him well. el spent his early childhood sticking close to the maesters and in the library learning everything he could. there was debate on him being shipped off to the citadel to become a maester himself but it was decided the second born son was too precious a pawn to give up. el grew up frequenting casterly rock in that time he tried to become close with the lannister children. el was a softer spoken child and while he was taught to swing the sword he was better at books. as he grew he realized that if he were to make his father proud and satisfy the demands and expectations placed upon him he would have to be confident and assured with himself. no matter how much of a ruse it was in the beginning elwin eventually grew into himself. this confidence was put to the test when his brother who after their father passed from a stroke lead the house down the wrong path. joffrey drank, gambled away their money, fought, and bedded many women. it was elwins job to clean up after his brother but he could do nothing one night when in a massive brawl in a tavern the lord lefford was gutted by one of his scorned lovers. elwin now has stepped up and brought a much calmer time of peace and prosperity to the land.
