Childe

Man... The tent doesn't actually need to be watched after, does it? 

Childe stepped outside the tent for a moment, feeling the "rain" on his head. He then zipped the tent back up and returned his attention to you and Scaramouche.

He sighed and checked to see if the two of you were still sleeping peacefully. He cleared some space for himself and squeezed in between you two, being extra careful not to wake you up.

-THE NEXT MORNING, OUTSIDE OF THE DOMAIN-

You

Oh damn... Did I sleep through the whole night?... Who was on watch?

You were about to get out of bed when you realized you couldn't move at all. Childe's heavy ass arms were practically crushing you. You weren't able to move a single muscle. You had no clue how you slept through the night with someone like him by your side since he was snoring loud as hell.

You

"Childe."

Childe

"Eh..."

Scaramouche

"Uh... Y/N?"

You

"What?"

Scaramouche

"Are you stuck too?"

You

"No shit. Get him off of us."

Scaramouche

"Wh- Huh?! What the hell do you expect me to do?!"

You

"Tsk, stop being a big baby and get him off of us."

Scaramouche

"How?!"

You

"Do you not sleep with this man?"

Scaramouche

"What the hell?! No! I'm not into him like that."

You

"Yeah... Sure you aren't."

Scaramouche

"You get him off of us."

You

"No."

Scaramouche

"Fine, then we'll be stuck like this."

You

"Okay."

With the assumption that you'd become angry, he got pissed and flung Childe out of the tent.

You

"I guess that works too."

Scaramouche

"Wake up, hoe!"

Childe

"I'm awake!"

While you packed up the tent, Scaramouche and Childe waited for you in front of the domain.

Scaramouche

*Sigh* "Could you take any longer?"

You

"Stop complaining and grow up."

You said, passing by them.

You casually blasted open the domain entrance and walked in. Childe and Scaramouche exchanged concerned expressions. They're the ones that are afraid to go now.

Childe

"..."

Scaramouche

"..."

You

"... What? Are you coming or not?"

Scaramouche

"We are going!... We're just-"

Childe

"Hungry!... We haven't... Had breakfast."

You

"So?"

Scaramouche

*Scoff* "Hey, we're helping you out here! It would've been nice if you at least gave us something to eat!"

You

"You're not helping me though."

Childe

"Yes, we are!"

You

"All you did was sleep, snore, and complain. We haven't gotten any closer to the device, have we?"

Scaramouche

"... No."

You

"Exactly. But since you two are being such babies..."

You dug into your bag and handed them both a loaf of bread in a bag.

You then made your way deeper into the domain.

Scaramouche

"Hey!... Y/N! Wait!"

You

"Hurry up. You can walk and eat, can you not?"

They proceeded inside the domain, both irritated. It was awkwardly silent, with just your footsteps and the sound of crinkling plastic to be heard.

You

*Sigh* "It doesn't seem like there's anything in here. We should just turn back."

Childe

"Huh?!"

You

"What do you mean 'huh'?"

Childe

"That felt so short..."

You

"So what, you wanna stay here?"

Childe

"I mean... Have we really checked every spot in this domain?"

Scaramouche

"It's a small domain, dumbass. Of course, it would've felt short."

You were looking at a pile of boulders as Childe and Scaramouche were fighting pointlessly.

Scaramouche

"Tell him, Y/N! He's the dumbass here, not me!"

You

"..."

Childe

"... Hello?"

With a puzzled expression, you returned your gaze to them.

You

"... Wasn't the entrance here?"

Scaramouche

"I dunno, ask Childe since he's so smart."

You just kept staring at the mound of rocks that you assumed was where you came from.

You

"... I could've sworn this is where we came from."

Childe

"Ehh, maybe this place just looks like the entrance. Let's go look elsewhere."

You

"Okay..."

With your arms crossed, you returned your attention to the rocks before following Childe as he led you and Scaramouche to another part of the domain.

Childe

"Okay... I remember this part, and this one, and-"

Suddenly, everything began to shake. Rocks were descending from the domain's inside, and you and the others fell over.

Scaramouche

"Shit! Are earthquakes even possible in domains?!"

You got yourself standing with proper balance. You grasped Childe's wrist and helped him up, then you assisted Scaramouche. In a panic, you led them back to your previous location, which was still covered in rocks. More rocks began to bury it.

You

"We're gonna destroy the rocks!"

You released Childe's wrist and pulled out your weapon. You took a few steps back, then dashed for the rocks as fast as you could. You were more than willing to demolish every rock in sight. When you swung your weapon, the earth underneath you crumbled, and you fell alongside Scaramouche and Childe.

You'd all made it through the fall. Your head was spinning, but the sound of the rocks falling and the deep crashing could no longer be heard. Even though everything was completely still by this point, it still felt like the entire place was shaking.

You

"Oh... Shit..."

When you gazed at your two hands, it appeared like you had more than two. When you stared around, it appeared like everything had been multiplied.

Childe

"Out of the way!"

You noticed two Childes racing towards you. When you looked above, you could see two enormous stones dropping as well. From your vantage point, the two stones appeared to be falling beside you rather than on top of you. But that was precisely their aim.

The "two Childe's" merged into one as he neared, and he hurled himself on top of you.

With your vision improved, you could watch the boulder drop quickly. Childe's foot was millimetres close to being crushed. As the dust surrounding you spread owing to the impact, you coughed and rubbed your eyes.

Childe

"Woo! That was a close one... Are you okay, Y/N?"

He was practically on top of you, his weight keeping you down on the dusty ground. His arms were also securely wrapped around your waist. After looking at him, you glanced up from where you had fallen.

???

"It didn't get them..."

???

"We'll try again when we see them. We have to go back or else we'll end up in a worse condition than they are."

Childe

"Who are they..."

From above, all you and Childe could see were two shadowy figures staring down at you. You couldn't tell who they were because of the distance.

Scaramouche

"Oh ho ho, what's going on here?"

Scaramouche was sitting on an enormous pile of rocks, observing you and Childe.

You

"Hey- Get off me."

You said, quietly to Childe.

Childe

"But... This is nice. It's comforting."

He whispered back.

You

*Sigh* "Scaramouche, he was only trying to save me."

Childe

"Wait- 'Trying' to save you? I 'did' save you!"

You

"... Right. He's only on top of me because he did save me."

Scaramouche

"Pfft, by doing what? Hugging you?"

You

"Basically, yeah."

Scaramouche

"Whatever."
