LOOKING OUT FOR YOU โ JOY AGAIN
"This is a love song for a girl who will never know it's about her."
miya scribbled on his notebook, pushing back his fringes whilst he was completing the last bit of his homework. he knew he wasn't guaranteed to receive a good score if he was rushing through his homework like this, but he had a strong impulse to go to "S" as quickly as possible.
He partially knew the reason why, he just didn't understand his impatience. he had a lot of time in his hands, yet he decided to rush everything as if tomorrow didn't exist.
He was afraid that they would leave without him, afraid that they wouldn't be there for much longer, he was scared that they might leave and never again come to see him.
He was anxious, he wanted to see them immediatelyโhe wanted to see [name].
Jolting up from his seat with an enthusiastic look, he had organized his belongings before scurrying on his feet to change in his usual outift, the indie cat look people usually found adorable.
patting down his hoodie, he lifted up his skateboard before clearing his throat, masking the excitement that bubbled up as he didn't want his parents to interrogate the sudden jumpy attitude they almost never see.
Sipping on the straw of their strawberry milk, their observant eyes didn't waste the opportunity to watch shadow crush another rookie. the egotistical look in his eyes had fueled his superiority complex, as if he was an elite picking on the weak like it was a daily routine.
[name] has only been in "S" for a few weeks now, you may consider them a rookie, but that just bases off weaklings who knew not that much about the sport. yet they were different, that was how they defeated Miya Chinen.
Although [name] couldn't say they did, because the race they had wasn't an official one. just a friendly match with thrillingly talented skateboarders.
"Oi, you." The gruff voice called out, as [name] continued to fumble with the buttons on their psp, a smile appearing on their lips as the letters 'Victory!' was displayed on the screen. yet that feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction soon vanished like words spelled out in the sand, only to be washed away by the strong waves at shore.
The smooth texture of the device was no longer within their grasp, their cold fingertips itching for the thrill that they obtained from simply smashing buttons and a strategy that brought them victory against every foe they crossed. but without the gadget, how will they possibly do it?
"Kid, its boring if you just stand there playing games. this place is for skateboarding and beefs, not your personal playground." The bulky man laughed, swinging the gadget infront of them like it was a mere decoration.
Ah, maybe you don't need buttons to decapitate someone. it'll be fine, they'll respawn anyway since.. life is just a game.
[name] pursed their lips, relieved at the fact they didn't say that out loud for a whole crowd of people to hearโshowing off your toxic trait wasn't really appealing, especially if your a 13 year old who's supposed to have a childish mindset. but that didn't apply to you and miya at all.
"Please give it back, you might break it." [name] reached out for the gadget, only for it to be taken farther away from their prying hands, failing to retrieve back the device.
"Ohh, so what if I do? will you cry about it?" a harsh, derisive laugh came from the tall man who everyone knows as shadow, one of the well known skaters. [name]'s eyelids drooped slightly, as they wanted the situation to be over with almost immediately.
Wheres Miya anyway..
"Shadow, isn't it rude to bully a kid? thats immature for your age." Ah, there he is.
Everyone bursts into incoherent murmurs at the sudden appearance of Miya Chinen, and his interference to the situation. Well known as he is, everyone was scared to go up with someone as talented as him, and one of those people included shadow. to Miya, he was a mere insect that he could crush beneath his feet.
"Huh, you're never interested in scenarios like this. why are you stepping in now?" Shadow broke into cold sweat, his heartbeat quickening as miya took slow steady footsteps towards them as if he was teasing the grown man. "Thats my friend you're harassing there Shadow. keep mocking them, I might just have to humiliate you." His eyes darkened as his lips formed a wicked smirk, emerald eyes glowing like a tiger that is preparing to jump on their prey.
"Hey, run a beef against me."
Miya stiffened, jerking his head towards his friend as his palms sweat in unease. "What?" A crooked smile plastered onto shadow's unpleasantly crusty lips, astonished at the sudden request. "Do you know who you're up against? I'm shadow!" Disbelief was heard in his tone, the feeling of humiliation eating him bit by bit as he pondered if the 13 year old saw him as an idiot, a low rankโor a slime, he could not tell.
But the determined look in their eyes was enough for Shadow to oblige.
"Fine then, if I win, you will become my servant."
"If I win, you will give me back my psp, okay?"
"Thats all? you should be asking for more." Miya grumbled in a whisper, clutching onto the sleeve of [name]'s hoodie. he didn't doubt their abilities, but he was disappointed at the simple wager.
"I would, but he is not worthy for being my dog." The innocent visage was enough to fool almost everyone that they must've said something heartwarming, or an attempt to encourage the other, but it was quite different.
Miya scoffed before chuckling, "You're so scary."
"Is it okay if we start tomorrow?" [name] turned back to Shadow, acting like they didn't say anything sinister. "Of course, practice all you want." He was radiating a prideful aura, overconfidence seen in his visage as he was undoubtedly showing off his confidence that he would bring victory.
Although, [name] wasn't any different, it was just that they were hiding their confidence to remain an enigma.
They're amusing, yet so scary. they reek of trauma๐ฝ
"I can't believe you picked a fight with shadow." Miya swung his legs around the seat of the swing, as [name] pushed him, the swing moving back and forth in a calming manner. "I didn't, he was the one who took my psp."
"I think the Kenma kinnie said something."
"We all know you kin oikawa bye"
"Touchรฉ."
The pair did not dare to destroy the calm, quiet atmosphere they created. the full moon illuminating the whole park with its light, accompanied by the stars which twinkled brightly. as tales told, they were always there to guide those who were lost in the darkness, and even calm those who are residing in the darkness. the light was similar to a pool of fresh water that had not been tainted by human hands, as it remained healthy and beautiful that would purify anyone's periods of fatigue and lethargy.
"What if you lose?" The abrupt question did not change the atmosphere. the question was to be expected anyways. "Are you doubting me? Just so you know, I'm a gifted kid." [name]'s lips formed into a pout which Miya found adorable, "I am too, you aren't anything special."
[name] backed away with an exaggeration of a hurt visage, stomping over to the other swing as an attempt to display their displeasure at his attitude.
"Aww, are you angry? should I feel sorry?" He laughed, "how cute."
"Yeah I'm cute." [name] ran a hand through their hair, before pointing at their back, a gesture to push them.
