"Teammates.."

You looked around the room, seeing each girl minding their business. You were currently waiting for Misa to come back from taking her shower.

You recalled Ego's words, 'Using our egos to grow.' You gave it a thought. Was eliminating Adachi a way for you to grow? You never tried to do this ever before, always standing alone on the edge of the world, daring to fall.

And the thing that surprised you the most is that you never knew something like this could be so...Addictive? There were three people who you noticed in the room.

'Ejiri Aki, Abiko Ai and Fujioka Eguchi.' You looked at each individual, quietly studying them and their behavior pattern.

Ejiri was the hot-headed person who always chose to head-butt her way in every situation rather than being diplomatic, Ai was the most decent person on the team aside from Misa, friendly and respected boundaries and Fujioka was the introverted one.

'Those three are the most promising on the team.' You looked as Ejiri was beating Airi for messing with her or something.

"[Name]-Chan! Let's go and eat dinner!!" Misa exclaimed, entering the room with a towel draped over her shoulders, her wet hair glistening under the room's bright yet subtle light.

"About time, I was going to turn into a skeleton." You said, the raven-haired female chuckled, "I have to pamper myself every night, or else I lose this beauty."

"You don't need skincare or other stuff, you're naturally beautiful." You commented and walked out the door as Misa blushed heavily but caught up to you.

Upon entering the cafeteria, you were not surprised to find it bland just like Ego's personality. You scanned the room, seeing where you could get food.

You shortly figured it out, bringing your arm forward you let the machine scan your ranking and the food was served out in a few seconds.

"Onigiri and Miso soup?" You raised a brow at the weird food combination but didn't complain further and took a seat, "Onigiri and Miso soup?!" Misa exclaimed at the horrid food combinations and further complained.

"I got curry, not the best but it works." The female said as you nodded along, devouring your food. The rest of your teammates had come ordering their dinner in a few minutes.

Ultimately you were so hungry that you finished your food in a minute, unlike Misa who was still on her third bite. Getting up, Misa saw your plate empty and immediately started aggressively shoving the food in her mouth, scaring your teammates.

"Wait up [Name]-Chan!" Misa threw the plate and ran behind you, "You should increase your speed in eating." The raven-haired female rolled her eyes, "Yeah yeah."

The next day, a bright light shone on your face as you buried your face in the pillow in annoyance. Turns out you aren't here to waste time and train as Ego lectured us.

The training room was blue and white but very spacious and had a ton of equipment to choose from, "I'll go for the treadmill." You told Misa, inspecting the machine, "Is that so? Then I'll go too!" You nodded, getting on it.

As you both ran, making small conversations here and there, Ejiri joined you two, "You two are such weaklings at running at such a slow speed, real strikers like me run at this speed!" The Angry blonde-haired female commented, getting on Misa's nerves but you ignored her.

"Oh?" Misa said in a taunting manner and increased her machine's speed more than Ejiri's, the two kept bickering while running while you whistled in the background, ignoring their banter.

"Hah! I win, now what are you going to Ejiri~" Misa got real close to the said female, 'Are they gonna kiss?'

"Get away freak! I'll beat you, just wait!" Ejiri marched off as the raven-haired female gave her the middle finger in return, "Sure thing babes!"

You turned off the treadmill and went to the lifting area, "Hey Ai-San." You bowed, Ai moved her head in acknowledgment as she benched almost 70 kilos.

"Hey, I heard a ton of bickering. Are Misa and Ejiri back at it again?" The strawberry-haired female asked, keeping the weights down, "Yeah, that's why I came here."

"Would you like to try lifting?" Aioffered as you just stood there, "Um...You there?" She waved her hand in front as you snapped back, "I'll break my bones if I try that." You wanted to back out but seeing Ai's bulging muscles made you flustered.

"Sure...I guess." You walked over to the dumbells section, "I think this will do." Picking up the 40 kilos weight but who knew that would be your biggest since coming here.

"I think that too much [Name]-chan!-" And as Ai said, yes it was too much for you, making you drop the weight on your toe.

'Im done.'

With that last thought you perished, well not exactly as you just fell in silence not being able to process the sudden pain, small tears started falling out of your eyes as you curled on the mat.

In the end, Ai called Misa, and the strawberry blonde-haired female carried you to the infirmary with Misa tagging along.

"[Name], you're so dumb." Misa sat beside you on the room's floor, "Sorry, I got too cocky." Your cheeks reddened due to embarrassment, "That's alright, mistakes happen but you need to be careful too."

You nodded, caressing your toe still stinging from the pain, 'This is going to take time to heal isn't it...' You sighed and got up, limping to your locker. You grabbed your stuff and headed straight for the showers.

Soaking your body in hot water you let out a small groan. Till now nothing really had happened. Just a few training sessions here and there, dinner, and sleep. The schedule was getting on cycle and repetitive just how you liked it.

But something told you this wasn't how Ego planned Blue Lock, even a mere glimpse could tell you a lot about a person after all. The black-haired man was planning something very huge and you knew it.

'Is it going to be matched?' You put a hand on your chin if you remember correctly there are different teams in here but if this were all Ego had planned they would not have put in groups of eleven but rather in bulk.

"I don't want to play matches." You murmured and slipped more into the tub filled with water but no matter how much you complained the sole reason you were here was because of your mom and Misa.

After the bath, you dried yourself with the towel and did your small skincare routine which consisted of moisturizer and some other face creams Misa had lent to you.

You didn't bother going in the room and headed towards the cafeteria and to your delight your teammates weren't there, 'Yes!' You did a small mental dance, grabbed your food, and sat alone on one of the tables.

"Just how I like it." You gobbled your dinner, enjoying the peace and solitude you were finally given after the hellish day with your noisy team.

From the corner of your eyes, you looked at the fleeting moments, tiny bits of memories people shared in this jail but they looked happy. You looked back at your food as slight regret passed by you, 'Maybe I should have invited Misa and the others.'

Yet it was too late to feel guilty now. You were always like this and nothing could stop it. You couldn't care less about others and that was your decision so it was better if you stick by it now, right?

Throwing your plate in the sink you walked back to your room and looked inside to see everyone sleeping, 'They slept without eating?' You guessed it was exhaustion and laid on your mattress.

But you couldn't sleep. Everything was bothering you, this project, your bonds. Did you even care for Misa? You wouldn't have come here if your mom didn't kick your ass and force you.

You rubbed your head and got up, changing into the skinsuit, and walked to the training room, picking up a ball you looked at the goal.

'Why am I here again..' You wondered and set the ball down, angling it in a certain way, 'I should be sleeping.' Were you...Conflicted about your feelings?

Sometimes...Well, most of the time you felt like a robot. Following the same schedule, hanging out with the same people, and doing the same thing daily. You shot the ball in the goal but felt nothing. You were stuck in this never-ending cycle.

'There's no surprise to this.' No matter how hard you try, you fail to feel anything. You couldn't value things or rather you didn't know how to. Always seeing them as a mere stranger.

'What is this damn place doing to me?!' You crashed on the grass, it was like the field held its arms open for you, catching you ever so softly, 'This guy 'Ego', he might just do something I won't like...'

Before you you could let yourself fall asleep, you dragged your ass back to the changing room and then the team room, 'I'm so sleepy...'

But oh poor you, it was like you were a bird trapped in a hunter's net.

And soon enough everything will come crashing down for you...

No matter how hard you try.
