"I don't want to take care of this child now!"

That line was the last line that mattered to you. Leaving you with all you needed to know at the end.

No one wants me...

And as easily as you had learned the true nature of this world as easily you came to not give a shit about this world either. You stood beside your foster mother, arguing with the orphanage head about taking you back.

"This child is a burden to my family...Matter of fact she's not even a child but an emotionless demon!" Those words would have been a deep wound to any child's heart but it was normal for you.

You stood there, head hung low while blood splatters covered your tiny figures, "But miss, her parents were murdered in front of her at a very young age causing her emotions to malfunction due to the heavy trauma as a response, we already informed you before you took her in for foster!" The head lady argued back.

Ah yes, you still remember the gruesome death of your parents at the hands of a serial killer when you were 5 years old. Counting all accounts of it in court didn't also help that put you in such an emotional state that you couldn't feel anything.

After that, no relative wanted to take you in so you were placed in a foster home and shortly taken in by the lady standing beside you. You drowned their arguments and looked into the alleyway behind the orphanage, hearing something from there.

"But that still doesn't mean she gets almost killed my child and gets away with it because of her stupid trauma response and all that other bullshit!" The lady argued back, this time with more malice rolling out her tongue. Taking this a chance you slipped past them and walked towards it.

"Ma'am, you should know better than to use such vulgar language in front of children, I'll abide by your requests for this night but tomorrow please come in to complete the proper paperwork..." The orphanage head closed the door and turned back to talk to you but you were gone making her shrill.

"Haha! Look at this freak! She thinks she can have anything just because she thinks she looks pretty!" A few kids gathered around a smaller young girl, throwing rocks at her.

"Hey listen! If you get adopted first then I'll make sure I ruin your life, got that?!" One of the older girls grabbed her by the young girl's hair and pushed her into the dirt.

"Well look what we have here..." They turned their heads to find the bloodied figure of you, watching them menacingly from a distance making them scared and run off. The girl, who was crying looked around your age.

You looked around and saw no one, not knowing what to say you just sat down on the dirt beside her and handed her your little napkin, "Here." She was caught off by your appearance but took it anyway.

"I think you should use it rather than me...But thank you for helping me!" She smiled at you, 'Huh?' Your heart started racing but you didn't know why. You shook your head and nodded.

The two of you sat in silence before the girl broke it, "Hey, my name's Misa! What's yours?" You hesitated for a second, "...[Name]."

"That's a beautiful name!" Your eyes widened at her sudden compliment, "Do you... not find me disgusting even though im covered with blood?" That sudden question took Misa a little back.

"Mh, not really. I mean there must be a reason because you're so nice!" She took your hand and kept the napkin on it.

It was there that you felt small tears pricking around your eyes before you sucked them back in, "You live here?" You asked Misa who nodded happily back, "Then why did those kids bully you?"

"Ah, because they were jealous that parents take more liking to me than them and that I have a higher chance of being adopted." Misa answered, a hint of sadness lingering in her eyes, "Do you feel guilty?" You had this ability of being able to read people's expressions no matter what they were thinking and right at this moment it was guilt for Misa.

"How did you-...Yes, I feel guilty but there's nothing I can do about it, I mean I also want to be adopted!" She sighed with frustration, you looked down at the dirt, "What are you doing staring at bugs, let's go!"

On the way back you explained to Misa how you had a traumatic past which made you get passed around many foster homes which was the reason why they never met each other, "It's okay [Name], I know you'll get a perfect family! "

"Oh, you still haven't told me what happened to you?" The raven-haired female asked, eyeing you up and down, "..The children of the foster mom used to bully me and insult me. They tried to harm me today so I only stuck up for myself since no one else would. I accidentally hit one of them too hard and now he's in the hospital. Of course, the foster mom got mad and returned me."

It was silent for a moment before you felt engulfed in a tight hug, "It's okay...You can cry now." For the first time in forever, you had suddenly found a safe space to open your heart's content too.

Without realization, soft tears started to fall from your eyes, Misa patted your back as a low whimper escaped from your mouth, "I feel...Happy."

After that, the head lady found the two of you asleep in the garden outside while hugging each other close.

The two of you became great friends. You would stick up for Misa whenever anyone tried to say something and Misa would help you socialize and make friends around the orphanage.

Soon, you were put into care under a child therapist named Akiko, "It's a pleasure to meet you [Name]! I hope the two of us can chat and have lots of fun today okay?!"

'Her energy is too bright...' But you didn't mind it, she reminded you of Misa so you learned to tolerate her behavior.

With Akiko's help, you started working on your violent tendencies and your emotional instability, learning how to control them and keep them in check.

Akiko would also invite Misa to the sessions and make the two of you engage in physical activities like soccer which the two of you grew fond of as time passed by,

"[Name], would you like if I became your adoptive mother?" You dropped your color pencil from shock and looked the older female dead in the eye, "Are you sure you want to adopt a good-for-nothing like me?"

"I keep telling you to stop downplaying yourself like that haven't I?!" Akiko lightly slapped your back causing you to stiffen, "Forget that...What about Misa?"

"Don't worry about her, I have already talked with a close friend of mine who works in the fashion field, she'll be more than happy to adopt a beauty like Misa and help her prosper!" Akiko smiled at you, reassuring you.

Soon you had officially become Akiko's child and moved in with her. Her house was what you would expect, average, "Well then, make yourself at home."

You explored the house, familiarizing it with. Opening the door to your room there was a closet placed in a very painful familiar place. Memories started to flood in, blood-curdling screams of your mom, the maniacal laugh of the killer...It was all coming back again.

"Aah!" You screamed out in pain and collapsed to the hard wooden flooring, Akiko heard you in time and rushed upstairs and helped you calm down.

That night, you had asked to sleep with your real parents which they happily agreed to. You snuggled in bed between the two of them finding the body heat coming off of them cozy in the wintery night.

Suddenly the three of you heard a loud thrash, 'What was that?' You groggily thought, rubbing your eyes. Looking at your parents you got scared at the panicked expression they held onto their faces, not letting go of them.

"Quick, hide her in the closet!" Your father instructed your mother which she obliged. You were still half asleep so you just shrugged it off.

Your mother shoved you into the closet but before closing the door she kissed your forehead one last time before you were completely engulfed by the eerie darkness of the closet. It was not long until you heard more crashes before your parents started screaming.

Those screams haunted you till this day, never letting go of you as if it clutched itself onto your back. Scared, you barely opened the closet door to get a peek but nothing but a gruesome held itself in front of your tiny eyes.

A man stood in the room, laughing and having the time off his life before deciding to run away before anyone called the cops on him.

Even though he was gone, you couldn't physically move from your spot. You heard the police sirens after a little waiting and were taken into custody. Hence how you landed in foster homes.

You could feel Akiko cuddling you in her arms, the motherly love you were slowly forgetting. You couldn't help but shed a few tears due to being overwhelmed.

Later on, Akiko got the closet removed and installed drawers instead in your room. She also made sure to get rid of anything else that could trigger any sort of attack as well.

After a few months of being settled into the new town, you were able to meet Misa again. The two of you joined the same school in elementary and have been on the girl's soccer team ever since.

Isn't it safe to say the two of you are quite inseparable? Some could say a little too much but you understand. So there wouldn't be any problem if there would be a sudden rift which would make one hate each other with all their passion...

Right?
