I was out, again. Walking through the streets towards Casita. Why? I ran into Mirabel a few days ago and she said to come to visit her on Monday, after lunch. And obviously, it was now that time. I tried asking her why exactly she wanted this. But all the girl said was; "It's a surprise! You'll see."

I rubbed my temples out of impatience. I only hoped that I wouldn't run into him. He'd been hanging out with Maria way too often. To the point, I thought he was ignoring me. He wasn't of course, I was the one ignoring him. But at last, I had arrived.

"Finally, you're here!" Mirabel smiled when I opened the door to her room. "But you're also late."

"Sorry, my family was being annoying." I shrugged and sat on her bed. "So, what's the surprise?" I interrogated.

"Stay right there for a minute." She hurried over to her desk. Turning back to me, she had a beautiful (F/C) dress in her hands. Along the trims, there were certain symbols that she made herself. Each of them involved things that I liked. Such as my favorite flowers, designs, butterflies, and more.

"Holy crap Mira, that's gorgeous!" I watched the dress in awe as her smile widened.

"That's not even the best part."

After hanging out with her and Isabela for some hours, it was now sunset. I was stepping out of the home, wearing the dress Mirabel made for me. What was the best part? The dress had pockets. Just what I needed. Surprisingly, I had a great day.

Or at least that's what I thought.

"(Y/N)!" A voice called out to me. I turned around and noticed Camilo opening Casita's doors, walking towards me as fast as he could.

I stared at him, unamused as he finally caught up with me. "What happened to 'Hermosa?'"

He looked at me, confused. "What, did you actually like being called that?"

"Of course not! I was just curious." I stated as he smiled again.

"Damn, it feels like I haven't talked to you in ages."

"It hasn't even been a week, Camilo."  He only stared at me with a blankly stare for some seconds.

"Anyway, Maria's been pretty annoying lately. She-"

"Pretty annoying? Or just pretty?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Oh please, It's so obvious something is going on between you two. It's literally been the talk of the town for a week now." I explained. Camilo's eyes narrowed.

"I can assure you, it's not like that. You shouldn't overreact like that."

"Yeah? Then how come she's all over you whenever I see you both in public? Y'know maybe it's even worse when people aren't watching." My voice was slightly raised.

"You didn't let me finish earlier. I was trying to say that it was annoying how she's been following me lately."

"So you're just going to let her cling to you like a whore like that?!"

We both stopped talking, not knowing what to say or do. What's weird is that clouds began to coat the sky the longer we argued. I sighed and turned around to walk away.

His voice lowered into nearly a whisper. "I just wanted to say that people are barely asking me to shapeshift for them anymore. I thought you would be happy for me. . . "

"Then you could've told me that earlier instead of bringing her up. Because at this point I barely care." I regretted what I said immediately. But there was no going back. Not after all the anger. And again, it was silent. Camilo looked up at me with an expression of shock, mixed with anger and hurt.

"Y'know now that you're acting like this, I'm starting to think Maria was right about you." He stated. I couldn't even walk away before wondering what he meant. I remained still.

"What did she say?"

"That you're a heartless bitch. Just like your parents."

I froze. Not just physically. Mentally and emotionally too. It's no surprise that that girl would say something  behind my back like that. But Camilo was saying it too now, along with involving my parents? Now that's just pure evil. My eyes darkened. I could feel my face heating up with anger almost like a boiling teapot. I felt as if I would explode.

And that's when without thinking, I turned around one last time to slap him across the face. It was unusual for me to follow my emotions rather than think first. But I didn't care anymore. He grunted when as my hand reached his cheek. Camilo faced the ground, rubbing the side of his face before looking back up at me.

I grabbed him by the collar. "Call me heartless, but don't you dare insult my parents ever again." My voice trembled at the last part, my hand slightly shaking. I let go of the wide eyed man before he spoke up one last time.

"And your that mad that you had to slap me with all your freaking strength?"

"Oh? Guess I'm heartless."
