"Yeah I wonder who this could possibly be." I said with sarcasm, walking deeper into the woods as I might've crushed ten different species of plants. There were a few palm tress blocking the view, but what I saw was a curly haired person sulking beside a river with their head in their arms. "And here we have Mira-" I pushed a palm leaf out of my way and leaned down to get a better look at the person. They looked up at me when my eyes widened.
"CAMILO?" I exclaimed a bit too loud when he revealed his face. I was expecting his cousin. The girl who has all the pressure on herself and is also, probably not emotionally stable right now.
Camilo rolled his teary eyes and turned his head back to the river. I sighed and sat myself next to him. I wasn't the best at comforting, and he didn't seem in the mood to talk just yet. So I just sat there next to him for the next ten seconds.
"So, what's wrong?" I questioned, but his gaze was still fixated on the body of water.
"H-how did you get here?" He finally spoke. I picked up a wild flower beside me and fidgeted with it.
"I... was looking for you guys. Now are you going to answer my question or what?"
"Oh right. But... god you'll think I'm way too e-"
"Just spit it out!" I softly nudged him.
"Fine! It's just that everyone only needs me for my gift, and not for... me. Shapeshifting is all I do all day, and it's actually really draining. It just frustrates me because it's the only way I can be helpful to people around here." He explained, before letting out a deep sigh.
"Then if it's draining, shouldn't you be glad that you can't do-" He cut me off by groaning in annoyance.
"It's not that (Y/N)!" He paused and looked at me. "Sorry. I-I just feel like I can't be helpful to anyone anymore now that I lost my magic." He looked away once again, but this time I couldn't help but feel pity.
I sighed, moved closer to him that I was leaning against his shoulder, and put my arm around him. He silently gasped at my sudden action, but I could tell there was a smile forming across his face.
"Camilo, if I can feel normal without some powers, you can too." I turned to him and grinned, he stared back. "Okay, let's change the subject to something else."
"Something else? Like how close you are to me right now?" He smirked.
"Sure."
"Yeah?"
"No."
