Isabela looked up at me with shocked yet sadened eyes. She seemed like she was crying for a while now. The poor girl, I just didn't know what was wrong.
"Y-you shouldn't be seeing me like this right now.." She said, trying to stop her sobs.
"It's fine, Isabela. I don't mind at all. We all cry sometimes, right? Do you.. Wanna tell me what's bothering you?" I questioned in a worried tone, but her dark brown eyes still didn't meet mine. They were still focused on the ground
"How do I now that y-your not going to tell anyone?"
"Well I, am great secret keeper actually. Unlike some people." I immediately thought of Maria because of what happened 10 years ago, but that's a story for another time.
Isabela took a deep breathe in, then began to explain the reason for her sadness.
"Well, it all started when my abuela arranged a marriage with me and Mariano Guzman, my so called 'other perfect half'. You've heard of this, right?"
I remembered someone in town bringing it up, so I nodded my head and sat down on the ground beside her so she could continue on.
"I've never told anyone this before, but I never wanted to marry him. I actually... Have a boyfriend. But no one knows about us." She announced, which made my eyes widen. I haven't heard of this much drama in quite a while now.
"Quite a shocker, huh?" Isabela giggled, noticing how surprised I looked.
"Well yea, it's not every day you would hear news like this!"
"Mhm, but anyways, when my boyfriend heard the news, he understood me. But it just seemed like he startes to love me a bit less since then." He smile faded, and her sad look returned.
"You see, me and him would meet up at a secret spot every other night, when everyone thought we would be asleep. It was so that no one could find our about our relationship. But like I said, he seems to keep loosing interest in me. And last night-" Tears started to fall out of her eyes, and she began to return to the state she was in when I first found her.
"H-he.. Didn't show up..." She barried her face into her arms, and I became more worried for her. But I just wasn't the best at comforting, so I did the only thing I could do in that moment.
I gave her a big hug, hoping she would calm down at least a little.
"You seem like you really needed a hug, Isa." I wasn't sure if she was okay with that, but she soon hugged me back.
"Thanks, um, I never got your name?" She looked at me as I pulled away from the hug, smiling at her.
"It's (Y/N). (Y/N) (L/N)."
Isabela looked down at the ground as if she was remembering something.
"Oh, I thought I heard someone mention that last name at brunch today, but that's a really nice name by the way!"
Someone mentioned my name? Wait no. One of the MADRIGALS mentioned my name?
"Thank you! And if you don't mind me asking, what's your secret-boyfriends name?"
"His names, Bobo. I know what your thinking. 'Who names their child Bobo?'" We both giggled at that, and then I spoke again to keep the conversation going.
"So, wanna tell me more about this so called 'Bobo'?"

Our talk lasted as long as recess I had in back in elementary school. We kept laughing at the jokes we made. And in fact, Isabela was actually a really funny person. So far I've noted that Bubo was one of those sweet dorks.
"Hey Isabela, do you wanna get out of this alleyway now? We've kinda been here for a while" I pointed out.
"Oh yes please." I got up and gave Isabela my hand, helping her stand up before we walked out of the dark place, I remembered I was lost, so I asked her if she could help me. She of course said yes.
After ten minutes, I was home. Thanks to my new best friend, Isabela.
"Thank you so much Isabela, I'll see you at the ceremony tonight!" I called ur to her, walking to my house before she remembered something and chased after me.
"Wait (N/N), I forgot to ask you something!" She said as I was just about to grab the door knob. I looked at her with curious eyes.
"So me and all the madrigal grandkids are having a sleepover tonight after the ceremony, and I'm pretty sure they would let me invite a friend so... Do you wanna join us?"
My eyes widened. This was a lot to take in. A sleepover? At casita with the madrigal grandkids?!
"Oh, sure!" I smiled nervously before we both said goodbye and I walked into my house, only to meet eyes with my sixteen year old primo.
"Why are you staring at me like I did something wrong?" I asked, not knowing what time it was already.
"Where were you? It definitely wouldn't take you 3 hours to buy groceries, he says as I place the said groceries on the kitchen counter, taking each thing out and placing them wherever they were supposed to go.
"Oh, I didn't notice I took that long. Well, I did a little shopping for myself, then I talked with Maria. But I didn't know we talked for that long." Just then, my tia walked in.
"Hi (N/N) and Andres! Oh thanks for putting those away (Y/N)!" She smiled, then I remembered that I should ask her if I could have a sleepover with Isa.
"Hey tia, I kinda befriended Isabela Madrigal today and she was wondering if I can sleepover at casita tonight. Is that okay with you?" I asked, and she looked at me in shock. Of course she did, why wouldn't she?
"Wow! Well that's definitely okay with me cariña. I'm glad your making new friends!" Her shocked face was replaced with a smile, and my primo looked at her with jealousy in his blue eyes.
"What?! How come when I ask if I can sleepover with my friends you always say no?" He argued, but tia Nica silenced him with something he never wanted to hear.
"Because I know that's a lie, your actually trying to go out with your girlfriend of the month. I'm not that dumb, ."
Damn he got exposed.
He was speechless, until he tried changing the subject.
"Well uh.. Would you look at the time, I'm gonna go get ready now!" Andres nervously smiled then ran upstairs.
"As you should." tia mumbled, then looked at me with a smile. "And you should too, go pack your things!' She said, and I walked the stairs and took a quick shower.

After I walked into my room to find something to wear, I surprisingly found two outfits on my bed. My tia probably got them for me.
Thanks, tia Nica.
I smiled then tried on them both, to see would one I liked better. The first one was a dress similar to Mirabel's, but the skirt was (F/C) and the patterns were different. But overall, it was a gorgeous dress.
Then I tried on the next outfit, and it looked pretty cute. It was (F/C) overalls and a big white T-shirt.
I really liked both of them, but wearing a dress kind of felt... Wrong? I'm not sure why I was feeling like that. Almost every girl there was going to be wearing a dress or skirt.
But I just wore the overalls and T-shirt. Hopefully no one would judge me for not being so feminine.
I now went into the bathroom to try putting on some makeup. I never usually wore makeup, but I felt like I should so I could maybe look better.
I was wrong.
I messed up too much times, and I looked horrible. I struggled to get it off, until I heard someone chuckling behind me. I turned around to see my tia Nica standing in the doorway.
"Let me help you with that, (Y/N)." She brought a tall stool in front of the mirror and say down beside me, then began to help me remove the messed up makeup.
"You could've just asked me to help you before you made this mess querida."
"I know tia, but I wanted to try doing it myself for once"
"That's ok! But if you ever need me, I'll always be here. Regardless if I'm busy or not." She smiled and began doing my mascara, and I sighed.
"Okay."
☾︎
"And... Done!"
I looked at myself in the mirror. And to my surprise, I looked better than I thought I would. All she did was mascara and only a bit of highlights, but jeez this women was a makeup artist. How did I never ask her to do my makeup before?
"Wow tia... This looks amazing! Thank you!" I smiled before running out of the bathroom and to my bed to get a blanket, pillow, pj's, extra clothes and anything else I would need for tonight.
I then ran downstairs and outside to meet up with the rest of my familia, who were all waiting for me.
