Rudy sighs as he sits in the chair in front of the computer. Jaime leans back on the table while Jenny and Angie stand behind Rudy.

"Okay." Rudy groans, "I've gone through the files. So... Ted had a professor, this guy named Dan Garrett. The Scarab chose this Garrett guy before it chose you, Jaime. And pinche Ted, ran tests on him to map out how the Scarab would react to the human body. So, once this Scarab goes up someone's ass..."

"It didn't go up my ass." Jaime interjects looking up at the two girls. Angie smiles keeping her eyes on the computer screen.

"Okay. Well, it connects to the brain and that's what it's trying to do to you, Jaime, connect to your brain. It's trying to become one with you."

"Why?"

"I think you should ask it yourself." Rudy says looking at Jaime, "I mean, this thing has its own will."

"It's sentient." Jenny says, "That's why it chooses a host. That's why sometimes, it does what you want, and sometimes, it doesn't."

"Okay, well, who made it? Can they help us?" Jaime asks

Rudy chuckles, "This wasn't made on Earth, cabezon."

"No way." Angie mumbles

"Si way."

"It's alien." Jenny says. Rudy pauses as they all turn to Jenny.

"Yeah. I don't really like the term "alien." You can use it, but I just..."

"Whatever, Rudy. Come on." Jaime sighs, "What happened to Ted's professor guy? How did he get it out?"

"You might want to sit down." Rudy says turning toward the room to find a chair. When he doesn't, he turns back, "Or not. All right.."

"Rudy, please. Come on. Focus."

"I got good news and I got bad news. The good news is, I figured out how to get it out."

"Fine." Jaime chuckles looking to Angie who smiles

"And the bad news is that you have to be dead."

Angie's smile drops, "What?"

"Dead."

"What do you mean "dead"?" Jaime says

"Okay, right now, Jaime, look." Rudy says pointing to the screen, "It's fusing itself to every cell in your body. It's completely coiled around your brain. And there's nothing on earth that could remove it."

Jenny walks away before turning back, "It's designed to protect its host. To keep it alive."

"So you're saying that this thing's in me forever?"

Jenny sighs as Rudy tilts his head, "No, it's not forever. I mean, it's just until you... until you die."

"Rudy." Angie exclaims as Jaime walks away from the computer

"I think it's kinda cool." He stammers, "No, I mean, basically, you are a superhero, cabron."

"I'm so sorry. I had no way of knowing..." Jenny tries

"Oh, you had no idea." Jaime nods sarcastically, "So then what are my options now? So, option one is to become an android for the rest of my life. Or option two is to hand myself over to a murderous billionaire psychopath?"

"I'm so sorry."

"All I wanted was a job." Jaime says walking down the stairs

"Maybe there's a..."

"Maybe what, Angie?" He snaps as he turns to them. Angie's mouth shuts quickly, "It's all bad news. Okay, this shit just doesn't get any better for us. I don't understand why you can't... God." He sighs as he looks down, "Whatever. I'm gonna... I'm gonna go for a walk."

"Jaime, just..." Jenny tries, but Rudy stops her

"Let me go talk to him. I think I know where he's going." He says before walking down the steps, "Cabezon, wait up."

Angie sighs as she sits back against the desk. Jenny looks over at her as she begins to crack her fingers, "He's gonna be okay."

Angie looks over at Jenny. Her eyes hold sympathy, "I know. It's just hard seeing him upset. I mean, his whole life has changed in a matter of two days."

"Yeah." Jenny chuckles. The room goes silent as the two girls wait. Jenny then sits up, "Have you guys been friends since you were little?"

Angie nods, "Yeah, since we were 5. He was the first friend I made in kindergarten."

"That's a long time."

"Yeah." Angie smiles before shrugging, "But if there was anyone I would've wanted to be around for that long, it's Jaime."

Jenny smiles softly as she puts her hands in her pockets, "So, how long have you liked him?"

Angie's head snaps up as her eyes go wide, "What?"

"Come on. I've only been around you guys for a couple of days and I can see it. I know your families see it." Jenny smiles, "Do you see it?"

"I don't.. I don't know." Angie tries, but Jenny can see right through her facade, "I mean, it's Jaime. He's my best friend."

"Just because he's your best friend doesn't mean you can't love him." Jenny says, "Isn't it best to fall in love with your best friend anyway?"

"What if I tell him and he doesn't speak to me for the rest of his life?" Angie says. She didn't think her feelings for Jaime were that obvious. But if Jenny of all people could see them, then that means Jaime probably did. And if that were true, then Angie believed Jaime just didn't feel the same way. Which hurt her to think about.

"I'm probably the last person to speak to about relationships," Jenny says as she walks closer to Angie, "But you shouldn't be scared of all these different things. Sure rejection sucks, but the worst that'll happen is he'll say he doesn't feel the same way and I'm almost entirely sure he won't."

Angie sighs as she looks away from Jenny. She wanted what Jenny said to be true, but she couldn't help but feel this pit in her stomach at the idea of Jaime actually liking her. Sure, they had a moment earlier in the room, but it was probably just that. A moment. Who's to say Jaime wasn't just caught up in the everything and slipped up?

She's ripped away from her thoughts by rumbling. She and Jenny look up at the ceiling in confusion.

"Shit." Jenny says before running off. Angie quickly follows her.

"Jenny, what's wrong?"

"I think that's my aunt." Jenny says as they quickly made their way up toward the roof. Jenny pushes the door open, "Guys? Do you hear that?"

She and Angie step onto the roof with Jaime and Rudy. All four of them look up as an aircraft with purple lights passes over them, "That's Victoria."

"Where are they going?" Rudy asks

"Home." Jaime says as he turns toward Angie. Angie lets out a deep breath as she watches the plane continue towards Jaime's house,  "Okay. Okay. Um..." He says as he stands on a bench, "I'm gonna fly. I'm gonna fly."

"You're gonna what?" Angie says

"Let's do this. Yeah!" He says as he puts his arms in the sky. The three look around at each in second hand embarrassment.

"Yeah, no chance." Rudy mumbles

Jamie grunts as he puts his arms out toward the sky again. He then jumps up, "Now! Ay!"

"Dude, no worries." Jenny says, "Just take your time."

"Thanks, Jenny." Jaime sighs

"You gotta force it to come out." Rudy says

"What do you..." Jaime pants. He then turns around before stepping off the bench, "Oh. Oh. You're a genius."

"I know." Rudy nods as he walks further away from the ledge, "What'd I say?"

"You said this thing's gonna protect me, right?"

"I..."

"Jaime." Angie warns

Jaime turns toward her, "It's not gonna let me die?"

"No, no. I mean, when you die..." Rudy tries

"All right, let's see if it works."

"I wouldn't test it."

"No, no, no, Jaime!" Jenny yells as he starts running toward the ledge

"Jaime!"

He steps onto the bench before jumping off, "Wait, wait, wait, Jaime!"

As he flies through the air, his suit begins to cover his body. Blue circles him as he takes off. All three of them are left standing there.

"I'm gonna kill him." Angie says

Rudy shrugs, "Well, back to the Tacoma, I guess."

"Yeah." Jenny mumbles as Rudy walks towards the stairs
