Kana POV:
"I'm telling you, no-one's going to come!" Ruby whined. "You know I'm missing out on Christmas food here."
B Komachi was assembled backstage, preparing for a Christmas concert. Ruby was pretty salty the concert was scheduled during lunchtime.
"Oh, come on!" I peeked out at the crowd from the curtains. "There's so many people. And look, they've all got red and green glowsticks."
"I guess." Ruby grumbled. "You would think they'd be at home, celebrating with their family."
"They are." MEM said softly. "That's my favourite part about being an idol. You get to spread happiness."
"You make it sound so poetic." Ruby eyed MEM. "Are you becoming Aqua 2.0?"
I managed not to finch at the mention of Aqua's name.
Our relationship was rocky. We didn't see each other often, courtsey of my idol life. I still wasn't sure how things would turn out between us.
"Alright, time to take the stage." I murmured.
The lights went on and we stepped out onto the stage, to be greeted by a mass of green-and-red fans screaming.
I delivered the opening speech and then the three of us took our positions on the stage, as the familair notes of the opening song began.
The sound in my disguised earphone started. "Dance A-sec begins in 3, 2, 1...."
The dance moves to this song should've been simple. But halfway through the songs, I mucked up my line and forgot the words to the second bridge.
The instrumental sounded without the pairing words. I kept dancing even as I remained silent, horrified that I'd forgotten the lyrics. This was the opening song we did at every concert!
Ruby glanced at me. I gulped as my mind whirled. I'd suddenly forgotten the dance moves too; my limbs were moving of their all accord.
Suddenly, somehow, my legs tripped over each other. LIKE, WHAT THE BEJEEZUS? HOW DOES MY OWN FOOT TRIP OVER MY OTHER FOOT???! I'd never been clumsy, but I guess you learn something new everyday.
As if this concert wasn't already a huge diaster, my trip resulted in me flying off the stage, MEM shrieking, Ruby reaching out to catch me, while I bounced into the foam bit and began falling towards the screaming crowd....
I disctinly saw some fans reaching up to catch me as I fell towards them off the ridiculously high stage, but then my rapid descent was halted and I felt arms catch me.
"Got you." a familair voice whispered in my ear.
I looked up, shocked to see Aqua had been the one to catch and save me.
Author POV:
Aqua stared down at the girl in his arms. He'd treated her so wrong, and was it even possible to make up for that now?
All he could do was try.
"You... you caught me." Kana blinked at him.
"I'll always be here for you, even when you don't need me to be."
