Aqua POV:

Three weeks had passed since that evening. 

Two days later I had read a newspaper about Akane's death. She had committed suicide on the same bridge she once had attempted to die, straight after our confrontation. She was sent to the  emergency room, but there was nothing they could do for her. 

I wish I had felt some remorse, some kind of pity or guilt. I wish I had gone to her funeral. I wish this wasn't my fault. But it was. And I didn't feel a thing about it.

School contuined like it always had. Except Kana and Ruby weren't on speaking terms with me. It didn't bother me too much, since I knew Ruby would eventually talk to me. But Kana's silence felt cold, like a gust of wind in my face.

I missed her sarcastic teasing and attuide towards me. I missed her funny remarks and her pretty laugh. I hadn't realised how much she meant to me. I had always took her for granted. All that was in my head was Ai. I had it stuck in there that Ai was the only girl for me. 

Kana really didn't resemble Ai, but somehow they were the same person to me. I kept seeing Ai's reflection in Kana's eyes. 

I hadn't realised until now that I didn't just have the power to hurt others, but others had the power to do so too. 

Kana POV:

I kept catching Aqua staring at me during class or outside. But everytime I glanced back, he looked away. 

The tense silence between us was mainly uphelded by me, but Aqua just went with it quietly. He didn't try and talk to me. 

I wonder why I felt so hurt by that. 

Ruby POV:

I had never believed that Aqua would really cheat. But I guess this only proves what you think isn't what's always true. 

After hearing about Akane's death, I instantly thought, It's Aqua's fault.

I wasn't wrong. I was guilty about my mean thought, but it was reality. Akane's successful suicide attempt was completely on Aqua. He had affected her this much. 

I felt so, so bad for Akane. So sorry that Aqua was my brother. He clearly didn't treasure this second attempt at life as much as I did. 

I always knew he revolved around Ai. She was the center of his universe, the only girl he'd ever daydream about. 

But I didn't think he would go this far. 

Not ever.
