Akane POV:
I lay on the grass, looking up at the blue sky. Soft white clouds dotted the sky and the spring breeze blew my hair across my face.
It sounded so poetic and peaceful, but I was stressed out more than ever.
I plucked the petals of the sunflower in my hands as I murmered to myself.
"He loves me, he loves me not..." I sighed as the last petal fluttered to the ground.
It would be a pickle if he did like me.
It would be a little hurtful if he didn't.
The whole situation was too complicated. Why would Aqua kiss me? Was it really just for work?
But I was still confused.
Aqua was an unpredictable, strange guy. I never knew what he was thinking, if he was gentle and caring or cold and stern.
I knew from some friends that Aqua was very popular with the girls at his school. He could probably make any girl fall for him.
I wasn't sure if I liked him romantically that much myself, but I did know I cared for him. Even if it was platonically, he had saved me from my suicide attempt and helped me build a new reputation.
As I got up and left, the flower petals stayed on the ground.
Author POV:
Aqua made himself some instant ramen while Kana messed around with the laptop and deleted all her search history.
"Damn him," Kana said under her breath, "Checking out someone's history is so creepy. Now I feel compelled to delete all my history!"
Kana's stomach rumbled but she made no notice to it. She didn't feel like going to the kitchen when Aqua was there, and she wasn't in the mood for takeout.
As Kana shut the laptop and searched for a bag of snacks or something, the warm smell of food wafted through the air.
Kana looked up and almost bumped her head on a boiling hot pot of ramen.
"Gahh." She fell back from her crouching position where she was searching in a cupboard for food.
"What are you doing?" Aqua asked the same question again, to see if he could get a different answer.
"Nothing!" Kana quickly scrambled up, flustered. "It's none of your business."
As Kana backed away towards her room, she tripped over the coffee table and fell back, her arms flailing.
Aqua grabbed her wrist and pulled her back upstraight, then set the pot of ramen on the coffee table and left.
Kana gritted her teeth. Stop giving me mixed signs! She thought furiously, I don't want your god damn ramen!
Author POV (ft. MEM-cho & Ruby):
"We need to look completely, utterly trendy for our next streams!" Ruby declared. "I want to look ULTRA cute on our channel!"
"I already have an amazing wadrobe," MEM-cho winked, "But I don't mind getting more stuff!"
The two girls browsed through all the shops in the shopping centre and appeared at the exit with huge, overloaded bags of clothes.
"Ahh... Miyako won't be happy," Ruby sighed.
"No... my wallet won't be either." MEM-cho grinned.
"Hey, we should get something nice for my senpai!" Ruby said. "Otherwise she'll feel left out!"
"Hey, we invited her, but she didn't want to go," MEM-cho shrugged, "But I'm down for that."
They picked out a cute beret and oversized carrot hoodie for Kana, the good friends they were.
"My senpai will love it," Ruby smiled. "I'm sure!"
Kana did not love it.
"Come on, guys, why would you spend money from your own earnings for me?" Kana frowned. "That's not great business. Besides, this hoodie is just... so.."
"CUTE?!" Ruby squealed. "Because it is!! I found it on sale! It was only 2000 yen! (approx $20)."
"It's very... um.. it's just not to my taste." Kana sighed. "Oh, fine. I guess it was nice of you to get me a present."
"Yay! I knew you would like it!" Ruby hugged Kana hyperactively.
I hate Aqua, Kana thought, smiling, but Ruby isn't bad.
What a strange pair of twins.
A/N: I do want this story to be a little more cutesy (as you can see from the pastel cover and playful name) so there's not gonna be a lot of dark lore.
(I do love some dark lore though)
