The possessed Martha spoke once more, "I don't need her! I can defeat the five of you alone!" Jack said, "If you're saying you want to duel, bring it on shadow freak!" You warned, "Jack watch what you say." The bewitched Martha adds, "Instead of starting at 4000 life points like a normal duel, since I'm duelling you five pathetic mortals, I'm starting at 20 000 life points while you all start at 4000 life points a piece." You worriedly asked, "Akiza are you alright? Are you able to duel?" She responds, "Don't worry about me, Y/N. I'm just fine." The shadow spirit spoke, "You're all doomed! Nothing can save you from the shadows now!"

You all looked at your friends, and then spoke to the spirit, "If that's the only way to rid you from this world, then so shall it be." All five of you said, "Let's go!" The bewitched spirit responded, "Its time to say goodbye to the earth you know now!" You looked at your friends once more and asked, "Who's going to start?" You would start but you felt that you would hold back everyone. Jack spoke, "I think Y/N should start us off." "Jack, I-" Jack interrupted your protests, "You're a talented duellist. You beat me with an amazing combo and I've never seen someone duel with such passion. Besides, you know more about these freaks than we do." Akiza and Yusei said in unison, "You can do it." You answer, "I don't know. I mean, I don't want hold us back." Akiza spoke with encouragement, "We have your backs, Y/N. If something happens, we'll back you up and help in any way we can." "Akiza." Yusei spoke after her, "I believe, no we believe in you, Y/N. You can't give up the fight when it's just starting." Jack added, "Yusei's right! You can't give in until the last card is drawn." "Jack, Yusei."

You all suddenly heard the sound of a car, making you all (including the shadow spirit) turn around in confusion. You saw Leo and Luna along with Mina and Officer Trudge standing from their spots. Mina said, "We came here as fast as we could." Yusei asked, "How did we know where we were?" Luna responds, "I think a spirit guided us here." Crow gave them all a brief explanation of what had happened. Leo said, "Come on, Y/N! You can't just let the shadow spirits win like this." Luna adds, "Leo's right for once." Leo protests, "Hey!" Officer Trudge asked, "Are you just going let them hurt Martha like this?" You said, "You're right, Trudge. I'm not going to let them do this to Martha and all these innocent people." Yusei said, "We're going to have to come up with a strategy so we can beat these spirits." The bewitched spirit said, "I hate to break up this moment but we have a duel to go through." You just hoped that you would not be defeated in a one turn kill.

Mina, Leo, Luna and Trudge watched as their friends stood to face the shadow spirit. Mina spoke worriedly, "I just hope that everyone will be okay. This is the first battle since defeating the Dark Signers." Trudge agreed, "Let's just hope that they can get out in one piece, Mina."

You were scared no make that terrified over the fact that you'd all be facing another shadow spirit. The spirit spoke impatiently, "Hurry up and draw, mortal!" You drew your cards, trying to decide what to summon first. You could go right into a Synchro Summon but you thought that it was too risky as an opening move. You had Secret Village of the Spellcasters, Card Destruction, Aqua Madoor, Blast Magician and Blue Dragon Summoner in your hand. You said, "First I summon Aqua Madoor in Defense mode and then I play the field spell, Secret Village of the Spellcasters!" You add, "Here's how it works, during my standby phase if I control a Spellcaster and you have no monsters, you can't activate any of your spell cards. I discard one Spellbook spell card and draw one card. I place a card face down and end my turn." You just hoped that it would work, playing defense wouldn't work for long. Akiza said, "I'm going next! First I summon Witch of the Black Rose in Attack mode, I then summon Rose Fairy but they won't be there for long because my witch is going to give Rose Fairy a tune up. I Synchro Summon, Black Rose Dragon!" Akiza's dragon appeared before all of you. Akiza adds, "I end with a face down." Crow said, "I'm next, so get ready! I summon Blackwing- Bora the Spear in Defense mode. I'm ending my turn with a face down." Jack then said, "Nice one Crow! Now it's my move, you freak! First I summon Twin-Sword Marauder in Attack mode and then I summon Dark Resonator and Barrier Resonator! They're going to give Twin-Sword Marauder a tune up! I Synchro Summon, Red Dragon Archfiend! I end my turn." Sure you all had powerful monsters but would it be enough? Yusei spoke, "Its my move!" You watched Yusei look at his cards with intense focus. Yusei then said, "I summon Level Warrior and since you don't control any monsters, I special summon it as a Level 4 monster. That's all for now. I end my turn with a face down." The shadow spirit scoffed, "If that's all you mortals have then you're finished. I summon Dark Tuner Dark Ape in Attack mode! I then summon Armed Protector Dragon! My dragon is going to get a tune up. I Synchro Summon, Dragocytos Corrupted Nethersoul Dragon!" The spirit adds, "With my monsters' ability, if I attack your monster and send it to the graveyard, I can attack you again! So my dragon, attack Aqua Madoor!" Your Aqua Madoor was sent to the graveyard. The spirit continued, "Now, attack Black Rose Dragon!" Yusei objected, "I activate my trap, Scrap Iron Scarecrow! I can negate your attack and use it again once per turn." The spirit says, "You're lucky mortals. I end my turn." That's one powerful dragon, you thought. You discard a Spellbook spell card and draw another card. You saw what you had drawn, Apprentice Magician. You said, "Its my move, shadow spirit so get ready!" You thought, "If I don't get a monster that can beat that dragon, we're going to become its dinner." You start, "I summon Amores of Prophecy and I activate her special ability! I reveal Spellbook of Secrets and I can summon a level 4 or below Spellcaster from my hand. I choose, Apprentice Magician!" You add also, "With the effect of Spellbook of Secrets, I can add a Spellbook spell from my deck to my hand. I end my turn with a face down." Akiza said, "My
move! I'm going to get my dragon to attack you directly!" The spirit's LP goes down to 17,600. Akiza adds, "That's all for me." Crow said, "My move! I summon Blackwing- Ghibli the Searing Wind! I'm tuning it with my other Blackwing to Synchro Summon, Blackwing Armor Master! I'm going to get my Armor Master to attack your dragon!" The spirit laughed, "Fool! My dragon can't be destroyed!" Crow smirked, "Really? Take another look." The spirit screams, "What have you done?!" Crow explains, "When my monster attacks, it places a wedge counter and brings your monster's stats down to zero until the end phase." the spirit growled. Crow adds, "That's it for me. Take it away, Jack!" Jack said, "Gladly! I activate my spell, Red Dragon Vase! Since I have a Red Dragon Archfiend on the field, I draw two cards! I place two face downs and end my turn." Yusei speaks, "Its my turn! I summon Debris Dragon but it's not going to be there for long because it's going to give my warrior a tune up! Stardust Dragon, let's rev it up! I end my turn." The spirit laughed, "Pathetic. I'm going to get my dragon to attack the mortal girl's dragon!" Akiza's LP goes to 1600. Then it adds, "Now I'm going to attack her directly! I end with a card face down." Akiza's LP goes to zero. Akiza was blown back by the dragon's attack. You yelled, "Akiza! Are you okay?" She responds, "I'm fine!" You glared at the spirit who just cackled in response. The spirit then says, "I end my turn." You say, "Its my move! I summon Junk Synchron!" Yusei's thoughts screamed, "She has a Junk Synchron?!?" You add, "I tune Junk Synchron with Apprentice Magician and Amores of Prophecy! I Synchro Summon, the Synchro monster, Junk Sorceress." Junk Sorceress is a Level 10 Dark Attribute Spellcaster Synchro monster with 3800 ATK and 2900 DEF. You continue, "I activate her special ability, she gains 400 ATK points for every Spellcaster in my graveyard and ones used in the Synchro Summon!" Junk Sorceress' ATK goes to 5000 ATK. You add, "I equip her with Bound Wand which makes her gain 1000 ATK points. I then activate my spell Sorcerous Spell Wall! Monsters on our side gain 300 ATK points during our turns and 300 DEF points during yours." Junk Sorceress' ATK goes to 6300 which made all three boys' eyes widen. You say, "Attack with Junk Curse Sceptre!" You then add, "Oh and she has another ability, if she attacks successfully then she can attack you directly!" The spirit growled with anger. The shadow spirits LP goes to 5000. Crow said, "I'm going to skip my turn." Jack said, "Ok Red Dragon Archfiend, let's teach this freak a lesson! Attack!" The spirit said, "I activate my Negate trap! I'm going to negate your attack." Jack growled, "You just got lucky." Yusei said, "I skip my turn." You asked, "Why are you skipping your turn, Yusei?" Yusei responds, "I can't do anymore now, Y/N. It's up to you." You heard Jack say, "Don't go easy on this freak!" Crow adds, "Kick some spirit butt!" You say, "Okay. This is for my friends and everyone you hurt! I activate the trap Dark Spiral Force! I can choose a monster and double its attack points! Also don't forget about Sorcerous Spell Wall!" Junk Sorceress' ATK goes to 12,900. The spirit yells, "12000 ATK points?!?" You reply, "That's right! Now Junk Sorceress seal this shadow spirit's darkness! Junk Curse Sceptre!" The dragon was destroyed and the spirit's LP hit 0. You say, "That's for hurting Martha and my friends." Everyone was in awe at what just happened. The spirit screamed, "I will return!" Martha's body collapsed to the ground, causing the three boys to run to their foster mother.

You had all taken Martha back to her own home, hoping that she would be okay. You paced back and forth in front of a sleeping Martha. You had treated her injuries earlier and she had fallen asleep after that. You smiled to yourself, leaving Martha to rest alone. You saw Jack and Crow talking with Yusei, not noticing your presence. You quietly crept back inside and saw that Martha was still sleeping quietly. You sat in front of her, watching her exhale in and out. You left once more, not wanting to disturb Martha. You stared out the window, sighing quietly. You went outside again, watching from the door as you watched your friends talk to each other. You saw Akiza walk up beside you and ask, "You bored too?" You nod, "I didn't want to wake Martha and I just wanted to see what everyone else was doing." You felt someone pulling at your side as you spoke with Akiza. "Y/N! Y/N!" You saw Leo and patted his head. He said, "Come outside!" You looked at Akiza, who just shrugged and followed the both of you. Leo dragged you and Akiza outside where the others were talking.

Jack, Yusei and Crow were talking about the shadow spirit they had seen. Before they could continue, they saw Leo dragging you and Akiza towards them. Crow tilted his head in confusion, "What are you guys doing?" You shrugged, "Leo dragged us here." Yusei chuckled, "Are you bored, darling?" Jack said, "Get a room, you two!" Yusei blushed, causing you to laugh at Yusei's reaction. You sneakily kissed his cheek and yelled, "Catch me if you can!" Yusei replies, "You are so going to get it!" You were running as Yusei chased after you.

Martha felt her eyes flutter open. She looked around and panicked, "Where are my boys?!?" She nearly ran out of her own house due to her panicking. Martha saw Akiza, Leo, Jack and Crow chatting away. Martha called out to them, "Hey everyone!" Jack and Crow ran up to Martha. Crow asked, "How are you feeling, Martha?" Martha gave him a reassuring smile, "I'm fine, Crow." She looked around, "Where's Yusei and Y/N?" Crow pointed in a random direction. She watched the two of you chase after each other. Yusei yelled, "I'm right behind you!" Martha heard you respond, "Try and catch me, shining star!" Martha watched as Yusei trapped you inside his arms.

Yusei said victoriously, "I caught you!" You tried to wriggle out of his grip but you had a feeling that he would not let go. He kissed your cheek adoringly and said, "I'll always find you." You blush beet red, causing Yusei to chuckle. You both turned around and saw Martha standing with the others. Yusei took your hand, dragging you both towards her. You asked, "How are you feeling?" Martha replies, "Better, thank you." Martha adds, "I'm just glad that you're all okay." Yusei responds, "We were all worried about you, Martha. You were possessed by a shadow spirit." Her eyes enlarged, "Shadow spirits? The things that came out of that light?" You both nod. Yusei adds, "Martha, you should've seen the way Y/N ended the duel. It was amazing." You rubbed the back of your neck, "Come on Yusei. That's a high level of praise. I just thought of a good combo, that's all." Leo piped in, "That was such a cool Synchro Summon! I want to do something like that!" You honestly didn't even know how you pulled off that Synchro Summon. Yusei shook his head, "I was more surprised when I saw that you had a Junk Synchron in your hand. I didn't even know that kind of combo was possible." You felt embarrassed, "Come on guys. I'm just surprised that I could even pull that off." Luna looked startled. You ask, "Luna?" Luna replies, "Y/N, I think that someone's spirit is crying for help." You tilted your head in confusion, "Who's spirit?" Several spirits appeared before your eyes.

Yusei looked at you and asked, "What's wrong, you two?" Luna responds, "There are spirits crying for help." You saw the spirits of your parents, Dr. Fudo and several duel monster spirits. You felt uneasy about what the spirits were going to say. You asked in fear, "What's happening?" Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl both had a grave look on their faces. Your mother spoke grimly, "Y/N, their armies are growing. More citizens are disappearing at an alarming rate." Your father spoke fearfully, "All hope is lost." You said, "No." Luna asked, "Y/N?" You spoke resolutely, "All hope isn't lost. The battle is just beginning, you can't just give up if their side is becoming stronger, we need to fight with everything we have. We need to strengthen our defences and strike when the time is right." Dr. Fudo was the one to break the awkward silence, "Your daughter is right Mr. (L/N) , you mustn't lose hope when times become difficult. The battle with these shadow spirits is just commencing as we speak." Your conversation was interrupted by the sound of cackling. "You mortals have no chance in saving these people!" All your Signer marks began to glow all of a sudden. A cloaked spirit appeared, "The spirits of darkness will always conquer the light! Not even the spirits of light can defeat us!" Jack expressed his anger, "Why don't you come out and fight us like the freak you are?!?" The cloaked spirit cackled once more, "Oh we will soon! Zaros would be happier if you mortals were eliminated for good!" You were about to protest but the evil spirit disappeared.

Yusei looked at your expression, your (e/c) eyes were filled with sadness, on your knees and your fists clenched. You spoke sadly, "Is this really the end?" Dr. Fudo said, "You're giving up that easily? I thought that you were more determined than that." Before you could say anything Yusei spoke, "I know that spirit came out of nowhere and said those terrible things but we aren't giving up." He looks at you and adds, "Father, I'm sure that there has to be a way to help everyone in the spirit world." You were silent and felt a sense of overwhelming sadness. Your eyes wavered for a moment, you were startled when you saw two hands put in front of you. You looked up to see Crow and Yusei's hands put over yours. Yusei and Crow took your hands, lifting you up with ease. Crow said, "You're right, Y/N. We should be coming up with a strategy that will kick some shadow butt!" You smiled slightly. Yusei happily verbalized, "You finally smiled." Crow whined, "Please don't turn into a lovesick puppy, Yus!" Yusei rolled his eyes, which made his father's spirit chuckle with amusement. You reply with realization, "You're right, Crow. If we can come up with a way to figure out where they'll strike next, we'll be one step ahead of them." Arcanite Magician declared, "We will create the most powerful army we can put together, Lady Y/N. We will teach these shadow spirits a lesson." You reply, "It's not just a powerful army that we need, Arcanite Magician. I appreciate the thought but we also need to outsmart them somehow. It's like they know where we are every second and they always appear when that light is in the sky." Arcanite Magician bows, "Yes of course, milady." You brushed him off, "No formality needed. You're just like Dark Magician." Dark Magician objects, "He is nothing like me!" You shake your head, "You're overly serious sometimes." You add, "All joking aside, we need a plan." Jack asked, "So what's the plan?" You had no idea on what to say.

It had been several hours later and you were back at your own home, alone. You were pacing back and forth, trying to think of something. You looked at a photo frame with you, (Y/AN) and (Y/UN). How could you bring them back? You still understand why you had become a Signer and why you had to get so many people involved with your problems. You look at your Signer mark and remembered when it first appeared. You didn't think that it would lead to new friendships and new enemies along the way. You then look at the picture of your parents. The fact that they were taken by the shadow spirits from the beginning made your blood boil. What were you supposed to do now?

You were still pacing, and you felt like you were getting nowhere. You had to think of a strategy or else everyone you knew would be gone, forever. You wanted to hit your head against a table repeatedly. You were so deep in thought that you didn't hear someone calling your name until you heard them yell, "EARTH TO Y/N!" You turned around to see Jack and Crow standing there with annoyed expressions on their faces. You sheepishly smiled, "Sorry you two. I guess that I was so deep in thought that I didn't hear you calling my name." Jack scoffed, "Whatever. Let's just talk already."

All three of you were sitting around the coffee table, discussing a way to outsmart the shadow spirits. You sigh, "This is harder than I thought it would be." You grab a piece of paper and start sketching a map. Jack asked, "What are you doing?" You reply, "I'm drawing a map to get a better idea of what place they might target next. Their appearances are unpredictable so we need to strike before they can hurt more people." Crow pointed at one spot and asked, "What place is that, Y/N?" You explain, "That place right there is Daedalus Bridge. That's where they usually are when they appear, I saw several of them there when I was out two days ago." Crow replied, "So if we go to Daedalus Bridge and defeat all of them, would everything go back to normal?" You shake your head, "Unfortunately, it won't work like that. Those spirits at the bridge are just pawns for us to defeat. The real fight would be between the leader of the Shadow Spirits." Crow asked, "How do you know so much about them?" You sigh once more, "Well, I guess that I like to read. Somehow these spirits are connected to the Crimson Dragon, it's like whenever they appear the Crimson Dragon does too. It's like it's trying to warn us." Jack raised his eyebrow, "How are these freaks connected to the Crimson Dragon?" You flip the piece of paper and start drawing. You reply, "The Crimson
