Assumptions:
-Abhir and Abhimanyu did not die, they were injured and rescued by Harsh Birla and were taken abroad
The grand hall was adorned with flowers and lights, echoing the joy of a new beginning. Rohit and Ruhi's reception was a grand affair, attended by the elite of society. As Ruhi walked down the staircase, her eyes frequently darted towards Armaan, who was mingling with guests. Armaan's interactions with Abhira were warm and genuine, causing a pang of jealousy to twist in Ruhi's heart.
Abhir and Abhimanyu, who had recently returned to India for the first time after the landslide, received an unexpected invitation to the reception from the Poddars as Madhav and Abhimanyu used to be good friends. Although not eager to attend the reception, they chose to attend it out of respect for Madhav, a police officer who had once helped Abhimanyu greatly, after which they became fast friends. They were currently staying with Kairav and Muskan, Abhir's Mamu and Mami and their daughter.
Kaveri, known for her sharp tongue and traditionalist views, observed the guests with a critical eye. As Abhira entered the hall, poised and graceful, Kaveri's gaze hardened. She couldn't believe that her grandson, who respected her so much, had chosen to marry a random girl, a girl that she did not get along with at all to be precise. A girl who made Kaveri's blood boil.
Kaveri (with a disdainful look): "Who let this girl in? She's the daughter of a woman who forced my grandson to marry her daughter, who does that. What a characterless woman"
Abhira (with a calm yet firm tone): "My mother was a woman of honor and integrity. She did what she had to do to protect those she loved. I won't stand here and let you insult her."
Kaveri (scoffing): "Honor and integrity? She left her own family, she raised you as a single mother and who knows who your father is?"
Abhira (stepping closer): "You don't know the sacrifices my mother made. She raised me all alone. She was independent and she taught me how to be independent. I won't let you tarnish her name."
The hall fell silent as Abhira's words echoed. Abhir and Abhimanyu, standing nearby, heard the confrontation. A sense of familiarity and pride washed over them, recognizing the fire in Abhira's eyes.
The tension in the room was palpable. Abhir and Abhimanyu decided to approach Abhira, the woman who defended her mother so fiercely. As they neared her, the resemblance to Akshara became undeniable.
Abhir: "It was good to see you defend your mother. A mother does everything for her child and to see Mrs Poddar insulting someone's mother was so low and disappointing."
Abhira: "She is an orthodox woman. Stuck up in her ways. The woman she is cursing is the only reason her grandson, my husband Armaan is alive today" (tearing up)
Abhir looks at her keenly and his eyes drop to her pendant. Which seems oddly familiar.
Abhir: "I hope her bad karma slaps back in her face"
Abhira: "I'll make sure I give it back for every single insult she has thrown my way about my mother, by the way I'm Abhira"
Abhir: "I'm Abhir and this is my father Abhimanyu" (Abhimanyu smiles and shakes her hand)
Abhira: "We have such similar names!"
Abhir: "What a coincidence"
Abhira: "I should get going, otherwise this family is going to dish out another insult"
Abhir and Abhimanyu nod at her and Abhira goes towards the Poddars. Abhir is still thinking about the pendent while Abhimanyu laughs because of her uncanny resemblance to his Akshu.
Abhimanyu: "She was so fiery, she reminded me of your mother"
Abhir broke out of his thoughts and decided to share his observation about the pendant with his Dadda.
Meanwhile, Ruhi was burning in jealousy seeing Abhira fixing Armaan's kurta. Rohit who was sitting next to her was surprised by her distance and disinterest in the function. Abhir and Abhimanyu were able to see Ruhi from the stage, but they did not recognise her as the families were not in touch.
Abhimanyu : "Abhir, let's go greet the newlyweds, meet Madhav and leave. I don't like attending all these functions now"
Abhir: "Yes Dad, the bride looks so uninterested. Dad, I want to talk to you about something, you promise that you won't freak out"
Abhimanyu: "What happened Baccha"
Abhir: "Dad, Abhira's pendant looked very familiar to me, and then I realised that Mumma used to have the same pendant. The exact same colour. In that she had Abhinav papa's and my photo"
Abhimanyu: "These type of pendants are very common baccha! You are thinking too much into it. I am going to use the washroom and be back, we will then go and meet the bride and groom"
Abhir however could not stop thinking about it. There was something about Abhira that reminded him of his mother and the exact same pendant seemed too much for it to be a coincidence. He walked upto to Armaan and Abhira.
Abhira spotted him approaching her and ran towards him, as she was tired of bantering with Armaan.
Abhira: "Abhir, you saved me in the nick of time. My husband was going to eat my brains"
Abhir: "Love marriage or arranged?"
Abhira: "Forced marriage, forced marriage"
Abhir: "Huh, what do you mean?"
Abhira: "That's a long story, anyways what brings you here? Missing my company so soon? Or too boring of a function?"
Abhir: "It's soooo boring and you are the only entertainment here"
Abhira: "Hawww Bhaiya {realises what she said}, sorry Abhir, slip of tongue"
Abhir: "You can call me Bhaiya, that's okay"
Abhira: "Okay bhaiyaaaaaa" {teasingly}
Abhir: "What's your pet name chotu"
Abhira: "Abhi Jr"
Abhir: "No way, mine too" {shocked}
Abhira: "You know my name is derived by combining my parent's names"
Abhir: "Mine too! Akshara and Abhimanyu" {tears fill Abhira's eyes and she quickly holds on to her pendant}
Abhir's attention goes towards the pendant and Abhimanyu returns from the washroom and starts walking towards them.
Abhimanyu: "What's going on you two? I hope you're not troubling this princess Abhir"
Abhir: "No Dada, Abhira was just telling her how like me her name is also a combination of her parent's names"
Abhimanyu: "Oh really Abhira, what are the names of your parents" {Abhira looks at Abhimanyu as he directly addresses her"
Abhira {sniffling in a low pitch} : Akshara, Abhinav {very unclear and both Abhimanyu and Abhir are unable to catch the names}
Abhimanyu: "Abhira, you look unwell. Let me take you to the side"
Three of them move towards the interiors of the house where no one is present.
Abhimanyu: "Is everything okay princess?"
Abhira: Yes Uncle! I was just missing my mumma. It's barely been a week without her and Abhir Bhaiya's mom's name and my mumma's name is the same.
Both Abhimanyu and Abhir get alert after hearing that statement and focus all their attention on Abhira, who has tears flowing out of her eyes. Abhir suddenly does something that shocks the other two present. He steps into Abhira's personal space and holds both her arms and begins shaking her.
Abhir - " What is your dad's name? What is your dad's name? What is your dad's name?"
Abhimanyu separates Abhir from Abhira and looks furiously towards his son, who now realizes the magnitude of his actions. He looks towards Abhira and his eyes are filled with guilt after looking at her horrified expression. However it seems like Abhir's heart has connected the dots and he just needs Abhira to tell him that he is right.
Abhira - "Abhinav Sharma"
