Hello my beautiful signers! I hope you're doing amazing and that your 2019 started right. Today, this Chapter will be about how exactly translating your own songs.

It's actually quite simple. What I do to translate is that I use the app SpreadtheSign and I also search signs that I don't find on that app in Signing Savvy, just when I am not exactly sure about one word. But, since we're all pros here, I'm pretty sure that from what you've already learned here, you will be able to translate the songs in ONE day, I am so proud of you all. Remember that your expressions are key when transmitting the feeling of a song to somebody else. If it's a sad song, you might want to do a dramatic face. If it's happy, smile a lot! Show by the nodding of your head and the speed of how you're signing how upbeat the rhythm of the song is.

This is something so important: It might be awkward. Nope, not "might" more like, IT WILL BE. If you get nervous like me when it comes to showing somebody else your skills, this will help you try to gain more confidence. Dance in the spot as you sign, show emotions, smile, act like if you're about to cry. The other person wants to feel your pain, your happiness, your craziness, etc. These exercises will sort of help you lose all that embarrassment. Show like what you're doing is fun and you're enjoying yourself. Who cares if you're over doing it? The important thing is that you're having a blast and at the same time giving back to the deaf community. They want to feel like everybody else—because they are, but with a disadvantage—so show them what you got! And if you want to impress your friends, do it, all the hard work will pay off, I promise.

Practice. Is. Key. ALWAYS PRACTICE, never stop alright? If you don't, you will lose everything that you've learned so far and you've come a long way just to waste it all. So, if. You have a favorite song you want to translate, remember to practice and don't feel down if it becomes difficult. At first, to learn songs in sign language, 8t would take me a whole week—it's all a matter of memory and as I said before, practice!
