"Reece?" Jamie asked, running down the stairs.
"I'm in the kitchen buddy." Reece said, setting the whisk down.
"Hi!" Jamie said, finally seeing the blonde giant.
"Hey. You hungry?" Reece asked, picking him up and setting him on the stool.
"Yes." Jamie said, nodding.
"Great. I'm making pancakes." Reece said, whisking the ingredients together. "Want to help?"
"Yes!" Jamie squealed.
Reece grabbed the bag of chocolate chips out of the fridge, carefully cutting open the bag. He picked Jamie up and placed him on the island, so he could help. Reece handed Jamie a measuring cup, Jamie's eyes lighting up as he took it in his small hands.
"Now, be very still. I'm gonna pour the chocolate chips in." Reece said, holding Jamie's hands.
"Still?" Jamie questioned. "Like a statue?"
"Yeah, a statue." Reece said, smiling.
Reece carefully poured the chocolate chips in the small measuring cup. Jamie held it perfectly still, watching as the tiny chips fell in.
"Now, take the cup and pour it into the bowl." Reece said, picking up the bowl and holding it closer to Jamie.
Jamie carefully dumped the chocolate chips in the bowl, not making a mess. Reece took the cup from him, impressed by his motor skills.
"Good job buddy." Reece said. "Can you stir while I heat up the pan?"
"Yes!" Jamie squealed. "Where's the whiff?"
"You mean whisk?" Reece asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Whiff." Jamie nodded.
"Here." Reece said, holding back a laugh and handing the whisk to Jamie. "Stir slowly."
Jamie giggled as he carefully stirred the batter. Reece turned on the stove, carefully placing a pan on top of it. He sprayed the pan down, and turned back to Jamie.
"Here." Reece said, picking him up. "I'll put you over here so you can watch me flip the pancakes."
"Okay!!" Jamie giggled.
Reece placed him on the kitchen counter, near the stove. Reece placed some batter in the pan and let it sit for a few seconds, before flawlessly flipping the pancake.
"Wow!!" Jamie said, his jaw dropping. "Again!"
"Hold on little man." Reece said. "There will be more flipping, I promise."
"Can I have smiley face pancake?" Jamie asked, swinging his legs off the counter.
Reece flipped some more pancakes, setting them off to the side. He turned off the stove, and put the pan in the sink. He picked Jamie back up and moved him back to the island, sitting on top of it. Reece grabbed some bananas and blueberries to make the smiley face, along with some whipped cream. He cut the fruits up, placing them off to the side.
"Right." Reece said, grabbing a pancake and placing it in front of Jamie. "Make yours first."
"Okay!" Jamie exclaimed, immediately decorating his pancake. "Help."
"What?" Reece asked.
"Whip cream. Please." Jamie said, shaking the bottle.
"Where do you want it? I'll place it for you." Reece asked, taking the bottle from Jamie's hands.
Jamie pointed to where he wanted the whipped cream. Reece smiled as he squirted it out, watching Jamie giggle. Reece moved his plate off to the side, grabbing another pancake for Jamie to decorate.
"This one is Marjorie's." Reece said, grabbing more fruit.
Jamie nodded as he started decorating. Marjorie had woken up at this point, walking downstairs to see Reece and Jamie in the kitchen.
"Morning." Marjorie said, fixing her hair.
"Morning gorgeous." Reece said, winking.
"Marjorie! I made this for you!" Jamie said, motioning towards the plate.
"You did?" Marjorie asked, walking closer to Jamie. "I love it!"
"I have the same one!" Jamie giggled, showing off his own plate.
"We're matching!!" Marjorie exclaimed. "I think Reece needs one too. What do you think?"
"Yeah!" Jamie shouted, grabbing another pancake.
Reece laughed as Jamie got to work decorating another pancake. He walked over to Marjorie, snaking his hand around her waist and kissing her temple. Marjorie melted into his touch, sighing.
"Marjorie help." Jamie said, grabbing the bottle of whipped cream.
"Yeah? I'll help you." Marjorie said, letting go of Reece and putting some whipped cream on the pancakes.
Reece grabbed his phone and snuck a picture of the two of them, immediately sending it to Vivian. He smiled as he shut his phone off, putting it in his pocket.
"There we go. These are some fabulous looking pancakes Jamie." Marjorie said, setting the whipped cream down.
"Thanks." Jamie smiled. "I'm hungry."
"Me too." Marjorie said.
Reece cut up Jamie's pancake and cut it into smaller pieces. Jamie watched as he did so, his eyes widening. Reece grabbed Jamie a fork and handed his plate back to him. Jamie immediately dug in, sighing at the taste of the pancake.
"Yummy." Jamie said, causing Marjorie and Reece to giggle.
Marjorie and Reece both dug into their pancakes, laughing at how messy Jamie got. Once they were done, Marjorie cleaned Jamie up and got him dressed, while Reece cleaned the kitchen.
"Hey my love." Marjorie said, answering her phone.
"Hiya. I'm on my way now." Vivian said. "I got the picture of the pancakes that Reece sent me. Looks like someone had fun at your place."
"He did." Marjorie giggled. "Wait... a picture? What picture?"
"Reece sent me one, it was cute. Don't worry. Nothing bad." Vivian said, laughing.
"That man, I swear. So sneaky. Anyways, I'll see you in a few my love." Marjorie said.
"See you. Bye." Vivian said, hanging up the phone.
Marjorie put her phone in her pocket and walked back downstairs with Jamie. Jamie ran into the kitchen, hugging onto one of Reeces legs.
"Thank you for the pancakes Reece. They were yummy." Jamie said, burying his head in between Reeces legs.
"Of course, buddy. Anytime." Reece said, ruffling Jamie's hair.
Reece bent down and picked Jamie up, swaying around with him. Jamie giggled, holding on tight to Reece.
"I'll get it." Marjorie said, hearing the doorbell ring.
Marjorie opened the door and found Vivian at the other end. Marjorie smiled, and pulled her in for a hug.
"Hiya." Marjorie said, smiling. "He's in the kitchen with Reece."
"Okay." Vivian said, pulling away. "Thank you once again for doing this."
"It was no problem. We had a lot of fun." Marjorie said, leading her to the kitchen.
Jamie was now on top of Reeces shoulders, Reece walking around the kitchen and playing around. Vivian and Marjorie just stood watching the two of them.
"Makes you want one, eh?" Vivian asked.
"What?" Marjorie asked, looking at Vivian.
"Reece being with kids gives you baby fever, doesn't it?" Vivian said, nudging her arm.
"Yeah. I just don't know if I can see myself having kids." Marjorie said, sighing.
"I can. You would make an excellent mum. You and Reece would be the best parents ever." Vivian said, walking up to Reece and grabbing Jamie.
Reece bent down and high-fived Jamie, before walking off into the living room and grabbing his stuff. Marjorie was still standing in the kitchen, thinking about what Vivian had said.
"Thank you once again, I owe you guys big time." Vivian said, walking to the door.
"Anytime." Reece said. "Bye little man."
"Bye!!!" Jamie exclaimed.
Reece watched the pair get into the car and drive off. He shut the door and sighed, walking over to Marjorie.
"You alright?" Reece asked, placing a hand on Marjorie's shoulder.
"Yeah," Marjorie said, flinching slightly. "Just thinking."
"Okay." Reece said, kissing her cheek. "I love you."
"I love you too." Marjorie said, exhaling.
