tw - mentions of mental health
"Are you going to let me up?" Marjorie asked.
"Nope." Reece said, resting his head on Marjorie's chest.
"I do love this, but we need to get to work." Marjorie said, rolling her eyes.
"We could call in sick, spend the day with each other." Reece said, kissing her neck.
"Autumn would kill me." Marjorie said, groaning.
"Ughhhh. Good thing I love you." Reece sighed, rolling off of Marjorie.
"Damn right you do." Marjorie said, winking.
Marjorie got up and put her boot on and clothes on. She looked in the mirror and smoothed her shirt out, checking herself out as she did. She turned around and saw Reece staring at her, a huge dopey grin on his face.
"What?" Marjorie asked, fixing her necklace.
"Nothing. Admiring my sexy girlfriend." Reece said, resting his head on his hand.
"Okay..." Marjorie said, laughing.
Marjorie sat back on the bed to adjust her boot. Reece snaked his hands around her waist and started kissing her neck again.
"Reece Knight what do you think you're doing?" Marjorie said, putting her hands on top of his.
"You're irresistible." Reece said, brushing Marjorie's hair to the side.
"God, it's like you're ovulating." Marjorie huffed.
Reece chuckled and threw the duvet off of him. He got up and got dressed, following Marjorie into the bathroom. Marjorie turned her curler on and started brushing her teeth. Reece standing behind her, also brushing his teeth. Marjorie rinsed and grabbed her heat protectant out of the drawer, stepping away so she could spray it.
"What's that for?" Reece asked, rinsing.
"So I don't damage my hair." Marjorie said, spraying the heat protectant all over her hair. "I mean, I dye my hair all the time so it's already damaged, but still."
"Do you know what colour you're doing next?" Reece asked.
"No. I have a few boxes of colour at my place, I just don't know which one." Marjorie laughed, walking back into the bathroom. "I'm getting tired of my hair, I think I need a change."
"Well, whatever you decide, you'll look beautiful. You always do." Reece said, kissing Marjorie's cheek before walking out of the bathroom.
Marjorie smiled and finished getting ready, Reece doing the same. Marjorie was about to step foot on the stairs before Reece came behind her and picked her up. Marjorie giggled as he did so. He put her down gently and the two of them got in Reeces car, heading to both of the nurseries.
"Carly's back today. She's been out for a week because she got the flu." Marjorie said.
"Bless her." Reece said, looking over at Marjorie.
"I'll keep an eye on her today. I know her mum works constantly so Carly's left alone at home." Marjorie said, resting her hand on Reeces arm.
Reece dropped off Marjorie at her nursery, kissing her softly before she left. Marjorie walked into the nursery and was immediately greeted by Carly.
"Hello my love!! How are you feeling? You alright?" Marjorie said, shutting the door behind her.
"I'm fine. Can I talk to you in your office?" Carly asked, fidgeting with her fingers.
"Of course my love." Marjorie said, walking to her office.
Marjorie and Carly walked into the office. Marjorie sat her stuff down and sat at her desk. She looked at Autumn and nodded, Autumn nodding back and walking out of the office. Carly sat in front of Marjorie, still messing with her hands.
"What's up my love?" Marjorie asked.
"Um, I don't know how to say this." Carly said, sighing.
Marjorie let go of her hand and walked around her desk. She pulled Carly in a hug, gently stroking her hair.
"I know. Seventeen is a difficult age. Especially when you're a teenage girl. If you want, you can always come to our place. Reece loves you too, you know." Marjorie said, kissing the top of her head.
"Thank you." Carly said, looking down. "Wait, 'our place'?? And the boot on your foot?? What happened??"
"You missed a lot. Yes, I moved in with Reece. And I severely sprained my ankle. You saw the caution tape this morning outside? That was me." Marjorie giggled.
"I'm glad you're okay." Carly said, wrapping her arms around Marjorie.
"Me too. Like I said, you can always come to our place. Or you can call me, and we can go and spend the day together." Marjorie said, rubbing Carly's back.
Carly pulled away and smiled. Marjorie smiled back, wiping the stray tears from Carly's face.
"Thank you Marjorie. I feel better." Carly said.
"Good. If it ever helps to process out loud, let me know. I'll always listen to you." Marjorie said.
"Thank you." Carly smiled, opening the door and walking out.
Marjorie followed her out and saw Reece standing off to the side, holding two coffees.
"She alright?" Reece asked, his voice laced with concern.
"She's okay. She just needed to vent. I told her she's more than welcome to talk to us, and she's welcome at our place." Marjorie said, rubbing Reeces arm.
"Okay. You're amazing." Reece said, kissing Marjorie's lips.
"That also applies to you, mister." Marjorie said, pointing to his chest. "I know you bottle things up, and I would like to help. You won't scare me away, you're a human Reece."
Reece was speechless. He walked into Marjorie's office and set the two coffees on her desk. Marjorie followed him and shut the door. Reece turned to face Marjorie and sighed.
"You don't have to say anything now. We can wait until we get home." Marjorie said, walking closer to him. "I love you. Remember that."
"I love you too." Reece said.
