Sure enough, Bee's already got his servos full of work when he arrives.
But the moment he sees a lull, he tells his supervisor, "I'm going on break.", and doesn't wait for a reply as he dashes off.
Once he's holed himself up inside an empty locker, he grins. "How're you doing, Pax?"
"Bee?" Orion asks, startled.
"I'm here! How're you doing?" Bee repeats.
"Oh you know. Just...perfect." Orion says dully, despite the fact that his processor is spiraling. "You need something?"
"No! I just wanted to check in, see what's happening." Bee says.
"It's all good. You can go." Orion says possibly a little too snippily.
"Wait, you're not inside." Bee suddenly notices.
"That would be because you failed to tell me the new Prime exhibit is for cogged bots only !" Orion seethes.
"Wait, they're checking everyone for a cog at the door?" Bee demands, aghast.
"Yeah, you got any ideas?" Orion asks, not really holding much hope even if Bee does.
"Uh no, I don't." Bee grits his dentae. "But that doesn't mean there isn't a way in!"
"You said you heard bots talking about it!" Orion accuses.
"Yeah, heard , not saw." Bee says, right as he sees Orion stare at his reflection.
"What, is something wrong?" Orion demands, looking down at himself. "I cleaned myself up before coming over here."
"Pax, Pax!" Bee says loudly. "You gotta calm down, okay?"
"Who's the one who has to go through with all this, you or me?" Orion snaps, then deflates. "How's work?"
"Boring as ever." Bee rolls his optics. "It'll be a miracle if I don't fall asleep on the job."
"Oh no, D's just walking up." Orion says suddenly.
"Knock it out of the park, Pax." Bee says, then opens the locker to leave.
"Thanks." Orion says, before turning to look at D. "Hello. Uh..."
"What happened?" D asks immediately, crossing his arms.
"N-nothing!" Orion denies. "We're just gonna be going in through the back! Follow me!"
Then he starts walking, nervous as ever as D thankfully follows him.
"You never bought a ticket, did you?" D asks, but there's no accusation. Like he already knows.
"What? Of course I did!" Orion doesn't know why he's bothering to lie.
"Then why aren't we going in the front like everyone else?" D asks knowingly.
"B-because this'll drop us right into the Megatronus room instead of going through all the other...places." Orion finishes lamely.
"But don't you wanna see Zeta Prime's room?" D points out. "He's your favorite, isn't he?"
Orion's stunned silent by that, before hearing himself say, "Have I mentioned you...look good?"
D chuckles. "Uh yeah, you have."
"I did?" Orion's at a complete loss now, before spotting, "Hey, a way in! You wanna do the honors?"
"No way. This was your idea." D replies. "You go first."
"Right, that's smart." Orion says. "No fair getting you in trouble if we get caught sneaking in."
He looks to the side of the nondescript maintenance door, looking for a panel.
Upon seeing it, he pries it open, and quickly disables it, and the door opens easily.
"How did you know how to do that?" D demands, but Orion's already rushing inside, urging, "You coming or not?"
"Are we seriously about to break and enter into an exhibit full of cogged bots?" D demands again, but Orion's more distracted by Bee's side commentary of, "Aft-kisser..", to answer.
"Just come on!" Orion orders as they lean against a wall and move slowly.
"You really didn't need to do all this, Pax." D assures, but Orion can tell he's just trying to be nice.
"You're too nice for your own good." Bee mutters, but apparently he was still pretty loud, because a coworker turns to look at him.
"Who's too nice for their own good?"
Bee looks at the other bot, playing dumb, "Huh?"
"You said someone was too nice for their own good." the bot tells him.
"Did I?" Bee tries to laugh it off. "I guess I–LOOK OUT!" he jumps back, freaking out everyone around him as they all back away.
Orion yanks D away right as a guard walks past them, hand over his mouthpiece.
"Do not make a sound, do you hear me?" Bee orders, not noticing he's talking out loud in front of his coworkers.
D struggles in Orion's hold, but Orion won't budge an inch, muttering, "I hope you're happy."
D pulls Orion's servo off his mouth, snapping under his breath, "No I am not. "
"B-127, get out of here!" his supervisor snaps.
"Get away from him!" Orion snaps.
Bee, however, is just realizing everyone's staring at him, and immediately backpedals, "You're right. I'm sorry. I'll...fix myself up.", and dashes away.
"Everyone back to work!" the supervisor orders, and in kliks, it's like nothing happened.
D demands, "Who are you talking to?", which reminds Orion they're still hiding.
"Stay here. I...need to check something outside." Orion says pathetically, then walks away, ignoring D's protests as Orion walks away.
"You almost got caught!" Bee screeches the moment he's back in the locker.
"I said you weren't invited!" Orion snaps back once he's outside. "I could've figured it out on my own!"
"That guard would've arrested you!" Bee says. "No community service, actually arrested you!"
"Well maybe it would be worth it!" Orion defends.
"'You really didn't need to do all that, Pax'." Bee mimics, infuriating Orion.
"That's my actual best friend you're talking about, you yellow freak!" Orion snaps. "Lay off, right now."
"Some friend." Bee huffs.
"What do you care what I'm up to anyway?" Orion says, turning on Bee. "Huh? Is your life really so pathetic you have nothing better to do than mess up mine?"
"No!" Bee denies adamantly. "How can you say that to me?"
"Then leave me alone!" Orion orders.
"Why should I?" Bee says stubbornly. "Huh? If you want me gone so bad, do it yourself!"
"Don't test me right now, Bee. I'll actually do it." Orion says through a clenched jaw.
"No you won't." Bee challenges.
Orion glares, then pulls a punch right across his own face. "How's that?"
"You hit like a femme." Bee taunts, earning him an even harder punch in the gut.
"My supervisor is a femme, you child." Orion taunts back, then keeps punching away.
"Pax, stop!" Bee begs, not angry anymore, even as Orion keeps hitting him.
"No, I don't think so!" Orion says, then proceeds to punch himself again, right as he hears,
"Pax, what are you doing ?"
Orion winces as he slowly turns around, and yep, there's D, looking at him like his processor's malfunctioning.
"D." Orion greets. "Something was out of alignment. Needed to knock it back into place."
"Pax, let's just go home." D says tiredly.
"No, D, come on!" Orion protests.
"Pax!" Bee calls, but there's no answer.
"D, please!" Orion begs, but it's clear D's not listening anymore. "I just wanted to do something nice!"
"I know." D says quietly, but Orion can tell, there's no way he can talk himself out of this one.
So Orion just nods, and follows D back to the train.
