(A/n): When this arc gets animated I'm gonna cry my eyes out. Kyojuro is my favorite character in Demon Slayer so... o(╥﹏╥)o

Anyway I'll shut up now go on with your reading~

A few days after Kyojuro proposed he had to go out on a mission. Tanjiro and the other three went with him. I was sitting outside of the butterfly estate no longer having to stay in bed. Watching as the sun rose. It's rays coating me in a warm light. Swinging my legs back and forth blissfully unaware of the events that had transpired just moments before. Sitting around in my own little bubble of happiness. One that wouldn't last much longer.

"(Y/n)-chan," I turned my head to see that Mitsuri was sitting next to me.

"Ah, Suri-chan when did you get here?"

"Not too long ago... (Y/n)-chan did you hear the news," Mitsuri asked, a somber tone laced her voice.

"Huh? What news," I asked not knowing the train of sorrow that was about to hit me.

"(Y/n)-chan... it's Rengoku-san... he didn't make it," Mitsuri said tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.

"... Suri-chan? What-what do you mean," My voice developed a tremor.

"He-he's dead (Y/n)-chan," Tears dribbled down Mitsuri's face "Rengoku-san is-is dead."

My whole body froze. It went into overdrive as it tried to process this newfound information. I didn't want to come to terms with it. He couldn't have died. Tears built up in the corners of my eyes. My eyes bore into Mitsuri's begging her to say that it wasn't true.

She didn't make any move to deny her words. My eyes stung as I stared at her. Her words repeated over and over again in my head. Pounding against my skull. Mitsuri buried her face into the crook of my neck. Sobs racked through her body. Tears streamed down my face. A sharp pain shot out in my chest. My mouth cracked open but no words tumbled out. Hands clenching and unclenching.

My mind went blank. I couldn't process what was going on. It didn't make sense. He was alive just the other day. He couldn't have died. He was too strong for that. He couldn't really be dead. Right?

Time skip~

It had been over a month and a half since Kyojuro's death. I had spent most of the time locked away in my room. Wrapped up in one of Kyojuro's spare Haori. My eyes had long since lost their usual shine. The pain in my chest never lessened as the days dragged on.

A knock sounded at the door. A small part of my head hoped that it was Kyojuro. But I know it isn't. I watched his body get buried. I stood dead-eyed at the funeral. Tears never came. I cried myself dry during the week before. So I had no tears left to give.

My dead eyes drifted upwards as Shinobu walked into the room. In her hands was a kettle filled with tea and two tea cups. She settled down beside me. Pouring her and myself a cup of tea. I carefully reached forward and grasped the small cup. As I watched the churning steam waif off the hot liquid. A random question popped into my head.

When was my last period?

As I thought back I realized I couldn't remember. I was so wrapped up in my sorrows it didn't register that I skipped. Not once but twice. My eyes widened.

"(Y/n)-chan what's the matter is something wrong," Shinobu asked leaning closer.

"H-hey Shinobu I-I can't remember," My words got caught up in my throat.

"What can you not remember?"

I took a steadying breath before responding, "I don't remember when my last period was."

"Oh, dear."

A/N: there was supposed to be an Epilogue but I don't have the energy to write it :)
