"What Will be acceptable?" came the serious inquiry from aahan father.
"wel-, well, weren't we discussing Aahan's marriage today?" Rekha questioned.
"Yes, so?" her husband inquired.
"Well, we've found a girl whom I really liked, and she's quite well-mannered. She's 24 years old and pursuing gynecology," Rekha said in one breath, taking a deep breath afterward.
"That's fine, I mean if she's your choice, she should be good. But have you asked Aahan about it?" remarked Ajay (Aahan's father).
Sarika asked, "What's there to ask him? He's already lost in dreams about that girl. Do you remember, Mother, that girl Aahan was searching for?"
"Yes, I do. Aahan is still searching for her, so he won't agree to this marriage," Ajay sighed.
"No, Papa, that girl was Srishti," she confirmed, causing Rekha to nearly fall off her sofa.
"What?" "What? We thought that careless fellow was hiding something," Rekha mumbled.
"Then, Rekha, we have to talk now. We haven't met her for four years; you should first speak with Srishti and her family. If she's sure about this decision, only then should we proceed," his father stated seriously.
Ajay didn't want to hurt a child who wasn't at fault. If she didn't want to get married now or if she already had someone in her life, that's why he requested his wife to confirm some things with Srishti and her family first.
"Yes, we will try to speak with Srishti's family today," Rekha said as she walked out of the room.
AAHAN POV
"Aahan, how could you be so foolish?" Aahan groaned to himself while pulling his own hair. "Wow, Aahan, what an impression. She'll probably think you're crazy."
"Aahan, did you find Mom and Dad's room?" Aahan's brother Aditya asked, trying hard not to laugh.
"Love, love. Why do I smell love in the air? And that too, where Aahan is involved," he remarked, dramatically sniffing the air.
"You've become a detective now, all because of Bhabhi's love. Does she provide you with meals and all?" Aahan replied in an irritated tone, silencing Aditya.
"Aahan, I've gained respect in your eyes," Aditya added as they sat on the stairs together.
"How are you? Any problems?" his brother asked, glancing at him.
"Yeah, love," Aahan said. "What? How? Where? When?" Aahan interrupted him in the middle of his sentence.
"Bro, take a breath, I'm telling you," Aahan replied, explaining how she had saved his life and how he had embarrassed himself in front of her.
His brother questioned, "So what's the plan now?"
"Bro, there's no plan right now, but she doesn't even remember me," he added, a slightly sad smile on his face.
"It's okay, Aahan. By the way, is she still the same angel?" his brother inquired.
Aahan chuckled, "Yes, Abhi even told you."
"No, not Abhi, your future wife was talking about you," his brother added, confusing Aahan.
"Ours? Why?" he said, puzzled.
"Just wait, Aahan. It's a surprise for you. Be patient," his brother stated with a laugh.
"Bro, please tell me," and this 'please' surprised Aditya since Aahan rarely used it. If he remembered correctly, Aahan had only used it when Abhi was born, and Aditya was playing the role of a protective father at that moment.
"Aahan, just wait, bro. Something very special is about to happen in your life in just 2 or 3 days," his brother replied with a smirk as he walked away, leaving Aahan bewildered. But he brushed that feeling aside.
The most important thing right now was how he would face his Ms. Savior after his embarrassing act, which made him slap himself on the back of the head. "Ah, Aahan, you're so dumb."
AT NIGHT
AUTHOR POV
At the wedding, Srishti and Aahan sat across from each other, watching the pandit ji recite the vows.
As the pandit ji continued with the mantras, Aahan couldn't help but keep his gaze fixed on her. It was as if he was silently making a promise to himself. He had a silly smile on his face, like someone who had just fallen head over heels in love.
While everyone else was showering petals on the newlyweds, our hero was sneakily tossing them towards Srishti. Srishti was getting annoyed because it seemed like someone's eyes were constantly on her. She turned around only to find those deep, dark brown eyes on her again.
Due to this unexpected eye contact, Aahan felt butterflies in his stomach, and his mind started singing a song...
Milake Bhi Hum Na Mile
Tumse Na Jaane Kyun
Milon Ke Hai Faasle
Tumse Na Jaane Kyun
Anjaane Hai Silsile
Tumse Na Jaane Kyun
Kaise Bataaye Kyun Tujhko Chaahe
Yaara Bata Na Paaye
Baatein Dilon Ki Dekho Jo Baaki
Aankhein Tujhe Samjhaaye
Tu Jaane Na Aaa
"Did you say something?" Srishti asked in response to Aahan's grin.
"What a weirdo," Srishti thought, shaking her head as she walked over to her brother, her gaze oddly lingering on Aahan, who had no clue what he had done.
"Damn it, Aahan, again," Aahan muttered to himself.
AT OTHER SIDE
"Neelam, meet her. She's Sarika's mother-in-law," Suman introduced, "And Rekha ji, she is my childhood friend Neelam." Suman chuckled as she brought them together.
"I wanted to talk to you, Neelam," Suman said.
"Yes, yes, please go ahead," Neelam replied, her eyes fixed on Rekha.
"Yes, I know it's a bit urgent and happening quite quickly. We were actually planning to leave in 4 days, but we thought of discussing this with you now," Rekha explained while holding Neelam's hand.
"Yes, we're aware it's a bit rushed, but we really liked Srishti for our family, if you don't mind," Rekha stated, gently squeezing Neelam's hand.
"Our son Aahan, he owns Oberoi.vip, his own company. Yeah, and it's all because of his hard work," Rekha added, wearing a proud expression.
"Uh, our Saru, this is great news, but we're not sure how to tell her yet," she continued, her gaze fixed on Rekha.
"We'll have to discuss it with our family and, most importantly, with Saru. Right now, we can't say much," Neelam said with a reassuring smile, as if to convey that everything would be okay.
"Yes, of course. We've only asked you about this for now. You can let us know after discussing it with your family. But we all really liked your daughter," Rekha stated, making Suman and Neelam smile.
NEELAM RETURNED TO HER ROOM AFTER THERE DISCUSSION.
As Rajesh Shah's wife entered the room, he asked, "What happened, Neelam? We were looking for you for a while. The wedding is over. Where were you?"
"Yes, I met someone. Do you know Mr. Oberoi, Sarika's in-laws?" Neelam inquired.
"Yes, we met them just now. They seemed like very nice people. Why, what's going on?" Rajesh asked, looking at his wife.
"They have asked for Saru's hand in marriage for their son Aahan," she smiled.
"What? Really? That's such a good proposal. What did you say to them?" he inquired.
"I told them that I would discuss it with our family. They are here for four days. What should we do now?" she asked, holding his hand.
Rajesh sighed, "Let's talk to Saru once, see what she wants. But it sounds like a good match. Let's see what Saru thinks."
"So, should I talk to her now?" Neelam asked, clearly excited.
"Yes, let's talk to her right away," he agreed with a nod.
AFTER 15 MIN
"Papa, Mumma called you," Srishti said as she entered the room, noticing her entire family gathered there.
"What's going on? Is there any issue, Mumma, are you okay?" she whispered as she approached her mother.
"Saru, take a seat. Nothing's wrong, dear. We just want to discuss something," Dev, Srishti's brother, said as he offered her a chair.
"Yes, now tell us, what's going on?" Srishti wondered.
"Saru, well, we have a marriage proposal for you, and their family is very nice as well," her mother added, looking at her intently.
"If this proposal wasn't good, we wouldn't have told you. But we felt it was a good match for you," her father added softly.
"A marriage proposal for me, but now-" Before she could finish, her mother interrupted.
"What is your response, Sarishti?" her mother asked, her tone serious.
Being a member of a traditional family, Srishti was already aware that her marriage would be arranged. In the past few years, her parents hadn't pressured her about marriage, and she was thankful for that. She knew that this was inevitable.
"Okay, if you think it's a good match," she mumbled, a slight smile on her face.
"But I want to continue working, whether they are rich or not. If they don't agree, I won't-"
"If that happens, I'll handle it myself. I know your hard work won't go to waste," her mother said gently, making Srishti smile.
"Well, you can talk to them; I'll go to my room," Srishti said.
"By the way, if you want to meet them, they are here. I can contact them," her mother mentioned, spotting her phone.
"Not today, Mumma. Let's handle this tomorrow; I'm really tired right now," Srishti replied, yawning.
"Well, then, we'll do it tomorrow," her mother said.
"Mumma, why are you in such a hurry to send me off?" Srishti said with a slightly sad smile.
"Oh, my child, who's happy about sending my dear one away so soon? I'm just happy that the in-laws you'll have are really wonderful people. I'm just happy for you," her mother hugged her.
