"Don't be foolish (Y/n)!" (e/c) coloured eyes met with the eyes of the same colour. The only difference was one pair is desperate while one is filled with determination.

"I'll do everything to save father and you can't do anything to stop me mother," the (h/c) haired girl told the woman in front of her, their matching eyes started at each other for what seemed like an eternity before the blonde woman broke it.

"Sweetie think about it, it's just a myth told by the elders, besides even if it's real there's still a chance you may not come back, " she said, looking at her daughter worriedly.

"We won't know unless we try don't we?" the younger woman said, smiling gently at her mother.

"Be careful (y/n)," the blonde woman told her, making the (h/c) haired girl nod silently.

The sun was only starting to rise when (y/n) took off with her horse into the direction of the twin mountains in the distance. She was on a quest to find the only thing that could possibly save her father's life.

A week has passed when the (h/c) haired girl reached the base of the mountains. Taking a deep breath, she began her long trek up, leaving her horse behind.

"In between these two huh..." she said to herself as she climbed her way up.

Half a day has gone by but (y/n) still hadn't found what she was looking for. The sun was beginning to set so she began setting up camp. At least that was her plan until she heard a series of howls coming from afar. Looking behind her, she saw the silhouette of a pack of wolves staring at her.

Chills ran down her spine. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she ran for her life, looking for a place to hide. She spotted a cave not too far from her and she bolted towards it. The wolves we're closing in and she couldn't afford to slow down. She lunged towards the opening that was already dark even while the sun still hasn't set.

Then, something happened that shocked (y/n). The wolves who were fiercely baring their fangs at her earlier suddenly stopped running, one was too late and fell into the cave's entrance. However, the very next moment, it scrambled to stand up and turned around, running towards his pack like the devil was chasing after him.

(E/c) eyes blinked as she stared dumbfoundedly at the pack of wolves that ran away from her, or rather the cave she's in. Shaking herself out of her reverie, she trembled slightly in fear. Why would those wolves run away so suddenly? Did she enter the den of an especially dangerous beast?

Looking around, she couldn't see any indications that this was a beast's home. There were no bones, no stench or anything. So, she decided to test her luck and treaded a bit deeper into the cave. After all, there was no telling if those wolves or other wild animals would see her and actually go through with making her their meals.

As she walked further into the cave, she noticed something weird. It had probably been an hour or two since she started exploring the cave, which was surprisingly vast. The sun should have set completely by now, yet the cave was not cold, it was actually pleasantly warm.

A few more hours passed and (y/n) slowed down her pace. Tired and hungry, she was about to give up and go back outside when she remembered that her father was still lying in bed, waiting for her to come back with the cure for his illness.

Soon, she saw a faint light just around the corner and froze. Was it an exit? But the sun has already set long ago. (Y/n) slowed her pace as she walked towards the end of the path, (e/c) coloured eyes looking around vigilantly. Her fists were clenched as she turned the corner, but the anticipated danger wasn't there. What greeted her was a spacious chamber, it was well-lit and (y/n) wouldn't have been able to connect it to that long stretch of darkness if she hadn't walked out from it not too long ago.

Unlike the path leading to it, the chamber was bright which allowed (y/n) to observe its contents. It was surprisingly clean, the slippery moss and moldy smell she imagined nowhere to be found. In the middle of the chamber the earth rose up until her waist, containing a flame that burned without any fuel. There were vines that coiled around it, red flowers blooming beautifully along the plant, there were no traces of drying or burning even with the intense flame just above them.

The fire lit up the flower whose petals were a deep shade of red that it gave others the feeling that one gentle pinch would make it drip blood. (Y/n) stood at the entrance in a daze, staring fixedly at the bunch of flowers adorning the earth pillar. This was the first time she saw them, but she was sure, those flowers were the cure her father needed.

Her body trembled and she took shaky steps towards the pillar. The room was large, with nothing on it except the pillar. When she finally stopped walking, she was right in front of the pillar, the cure to her father's disease just within reach.

"What do you think you're doing?!" a voice bellowed. The hand reaching out to the flowers stopped as its owner looked around hastily. She was so focused on the flowers that she failed to spot the path on the far-right side of the chamber. Standing there was a man with fiery red hair flowing down his back, his eyes were golden with a few specks of crimson.

There was an air of haughtiness around him that seemed innate. He was like a being untainted by the mortal world around him, even as he strode towards her with eyes ablaze with anger.
