He woke up that morning determined to make it early to work on his first day only to discover to his dismay that he was late. He hurried to the bathroom, showered, got dressed as fast as he could and drove off to work while trying to come up with an excuse to give his new boss. He had already been given a pamphlet detailing the staff and their duties. His boss is the vice president of Gates Corp but he reported directly to the chief secretary whose boss is the president of the company.
He was told that if he wanted to keep his job and actually make a name for himself in the company, he had to make Her like him.
Piece of cake he thought to himself. He can make any woman like him. This should be a walk in the park he said with a smile.

She couldn't believe she was late. Today of all days. She hurried down the stairs and called out to her father.
Dad? I'm late for work. Will you cover for me she asked.
Of course,get out while you can he replied with a laugh.
Thanks Dad! What would I do without you she thought as she blew him a kiss and ran out the door.
She drove out of the building humming to herself and sighed with relief when she found a good parking spot. She quickly walked through the door,got into the elevator and checked her watch. It was 8:30 am. She got off with a smile and greeted one of her co-workers as she entered her office to prepare for the day.
She prepared the cups of coffee in time to wait for her boss by the elevator.
Good Morning Mr Gate she said with a smile as he got off the elevator and presented him with a cup of coffee.
Good Morning My Wonderful Assistant he replied as he took a sip of the coffee. You are looking stunning he said. Your day off must have done wonders for your skin. You are practically glowing.
What favor do you want me to do for you she asked. You only compliment me when you want something.
That's not true he said. I'm hurt you think so lowly of me.
It is true she said with a smile. Just go ahead and ask, she continued.
Well..... I was wondering if.....
No,she said firmly.
I haven't even asked anything he said with a pout.
But I know you she replied. It's not happening this time. I am not
breaking up with your girlfriend for you. All the women you have dated hate me now. I have work to do. Please excuse me she said as she walked away.
She knows me too well he said with a smile as he watched her walk away.
She went into the vice president's office with the second cup of coffee and greeted him with a smile.
I was just about to call you he said as he received the coffee from her. You look exhausted. Is everything okay he asked her with apparent concern in his voice.
I'm fine she replied. Just tired of playing nanny to two grown men.
Working for you two is tiring, she said.
Well, I'm about to reduce your work load. My new assistant is resuming today. I was hoping you could make him into an efficient assistant like you.
Wishful thinking she chided him. Not everyone can be like me she continued as the phone on the desk started ringing.
Peter Hudson's Office she said as she answered the phone. Okay, she replied. I'll be there shortly she said as the call ended.
That was Kate from the front desk. Your assistant has arrived she told him.
You haven't replied to my request yet he said as she retrieved the tray from the desk.
I'll do the best I can she replied as she walked out of the office.

After returning the tray to the break room,she walked down the stairs to the front desk as she inquired about the new assistant.
He's the one in the blue suit standing by the window, Kate told her.
She walked toward the man in question just as he turned around and she was stunned. She couldn't believe her eyes.
Standing before her was the love of her life, the man she was supposed to marry: Barry Allen.

She noticed he was shocked too as he stood there staring at her with his mouth open.
Excuse me she said as she hurriedly walked way to find one of the other assistants.
Beth, she began. I'm in a fix right now and I have to go. Would you mind taking the new assistant on a tour of the facilities she continued. Show him how things are done?
Of course Beth replied. Are you okay? She asked with concern.
I'm fine. Just a family emergency.
Thanks Beth she said as she walked away.
She ran into her boss's office and he looked at her in surprise.
Everything okay he asked her.
Yes. Remember how you said I'm your wonderful assistant she said
Yes..... He replied uneasily. What about it he asked.
Iris: Can I take the day off? I know I wasn't here yesterday but I have to go. It's really important.
Mr Gates: Sure, you can. Just call me when you get home so I won't worry so much.
Iris: Thanks Boss. You are the best
She hurried out of the office, took her bag and walked out the side entrance and drove out of the building.
On getting to her destination, she walked into the house and without a word to her dad ran up the stairs and entered one of the rooms.
She smiled when the occupant of the room looked up at her and she sat on the bed and hugged him. She still couldn't believe how she could love him more every day. It was an amazing feeling she could never explain.
He smiled when she released him and ruffled his hair.
Mom! You are messing up my hair. I'm not a baby anymore you know he said.
I'm sorry honey but you will always be my baby she replied as she smiled at her son.........
