I groaned, feeling my chest aching. It was extremely hot too. It felt like I was in at a desert in the summer with its unforgivable heat. I kicked away the sheets and turned over to the other side, but it was too hot for me to go back to sleep. I sighed and sat up. Right away, it felt like a wave tackled me. My eyes could barely focus properly and I felt uneasy.

Getting out of bed, I decided to splash water on my face. The cold water reaching my burning body felt relaxing. I patted my face dry and thankfully my vision was back on track. That's when I noticed it.

Where I was stabbed was much worse. Some of the black lines sprouted close to my collarbone and other lines went farther down towards my torso. I lightly touched close to where the penetration was and winced. As I slipped on my button up shirt, there was a knock on the door.

“Harry?” Angelina stepped inside.

“In here,” I said.

“I got some...” Angelina frowned when she was in front of me. “Are you alright?”

I rolled my eyes. “I don't know, Angelina. I think I'm alright. I mean what's not to be alright about? I think I have every reason to be alright, especially when my girl was kidnapped by a psychopath.”

“That's not what I meant,” Angelina said calmly, but I knew that she was getting irritated.

“Then, what did you mean?”

“I just meant you don't look so well. Your skin is paler and your eyes are slightly red.”

“Look, I will be fine when all of this is over and Jacob is dead. Alright?! Now, get out of here and leave me alone unless you have something that involves Jazlyn.”

“She was able to get in contact with me. She tried describing where she was, but she saw nothing but a field and an oak tree. Jazlyn assumes that she is in a three story home, but it's not a fact.”

“That's enough information,” I said, moving passed her. “We're going to Holmes Chapel.”

Angelina gripped my shoulder, “I'm not done.”

“What else is there?”

“She was very concerned for you. She told me to check on you. I tried asking her why, but we lost connection and I haven't been able to get in touch with her since. I don't think Jacob has another stone, but I do think he is using some type of concoction that's blocking the connections.”

“Where are the others?” I asked. “Are they out looking for her?”

“Niall had a sense that Jacob was in London recently, so he went to go look.”

“Why didn't you call me for this?”

“Jacob thinks we're dead. I think that's the best idea for us right now. Let's try giving him the element of surprise.”

I rolled my eyes, “Because the last element of surprise worked so well last time.”

Liam popped his head in the room. “Niall's back. You have to see what he found.”

We all moved downstairs. Louis was on the laptop and he had a video set up for us to watch. I stood by as I watched Jacob coming near Jazlyn and how his hand struck her delicate cheek. The fear in her eyes made me want to search for her and the pain caused my anger to boil within me even more that it already has.

“He wants us to find a way to connect to him...” Liam muttered. “What is that supposed to mean?”

“Play back to where he slapped her,” Angelina instructed. Louis did what he was told, “Again...”

Louis played the video again. I winced as I heard the sound of the slap. “What are you looking for?” Louis asked as he played the scene again.

“I see something. Jazlyn's head is blocking something and when she gets slapped, we're somewhat able to see what it is. Louis, play it again but this time get ready to pause when I tell you to do it.” Angelina waited and finally she said, “Pause it.”

Louis paused it quickly. “It looks like some type of symbol.”

“Is there a way you can zoom in?” Liam suggested.

“Let me try something,” Louis pressed a few buttons and then the video zoomed to what Angelina noticed. “I don't know what that is. It's too blurry to see it.”

She handed him the very first disc. “Play it and wait until I tell you to pause. Pause it now,” Angelina instructed. We stared at the very blurry symbol. It seemed like it was in a shape of a tree, but there was letters that none of us could figure out. “Why does that seem familiar?”

I grumbled, “We're wasting our time.” I started to go upstairs. “If you are going to worry about stupid things like this, I'm going to head to Holmes Chapel and find Jazlyn myself!”

Angelina followed me upstairs to my room, “Harry, can you please think smart on this situation?”

“What situation?”

“You're in no condition to fight Jacob alone! You're going to need our help whether you like it or not. We need to think of a plan or Jacob will find a way to survive.”

“He is going to do something horrible to Jazlyn. I personally don't want to be too late to stop him from doing something awful to her. For all you know, she could be getting raped by him right now!”

“Harry,” Angelina began.

“Don't 'Harry' me! How can you be so calm about this?! Jazlyn is trapped with a monster that tormented you too! Why aren't you searching for him and trying to save Jazlyn like you would if it was just us? Jazlyn could be getting violated by that freak and you're just letting it happen! You should know how horrible it is, so why are you letting Jazlyn go through it?!”

Angelina stiffened. In her eyes, I could tell that she was having a flashback of what happened to her when she was held captive by the Black Knights in Hawthorn Academy and how every hunter raped her and wouldn't stop until she cooperated. She refused always and continued to get raped. It haunted her and led her through a dark time and made cower in fear, but she managed to stay strong somehow. Still, it was a painful subject to bring up.

“I'm sorry,” I said, calmly.

She nodded, “I'm fine.”

“Look, I just...”

“Got to find her,” Angelina finished my sentence. “I know you do and we will. I promise Harry, we'll get Jazlyn back.”

“Thank you,” I breathed. Another wave hit me, making me blink a few times.

Angelina noticed and frowned, looking at my chest. “What is that?”

“Nothing,” I said, pulling my shirt closer to me.

She slapped my hand away and moved my shirt away to reveal the wound I got from Jacob. Angelina's eyes widened, “How long have you had this?”

“I don't know. I noticed it when I was getting ready to take a nap and I woke up and it got worse. I'm sure it's nothing. A little blood always did the trick.”

“You drank blood already?”

“Before I went to bed,” I nodded. My knees slowly started to feel weak and I felt like the room was swaying. My body started to feel warm again and sweat was lightly forming on my forehead. “I'm going to get more blood.”

I got ready to walk towards the door, but once I made the first step, my legs gave out and I fell to the ground. I tried getting up, but I couldn't. My arms were shaking and felt like jello. It grew hotter and hotter and I swear, I felt too weak. Angelina quickly sunk to her knees. “Niall!” Angelina cried out.

Niall and the others quickly rushed towards me. “What happened?” Niall demanded.

Angelina pointed at my wound. He ripped open my shirt and gasped. I stared down at my chest and noticed the lines moved more down my torso, some even curving at my sides. Even some of the lines were forming on my left shoulder.

“What the hell is that?” Zayn questioned.

“Help me move him to the bed,” Niall instructed. Louis went to my side and helped me up. Niall examined the wound. “When did you get this?”

“I saw it before I was going to take a nap.”

“Niall, what is it?” Angelina asked him.

He sighed, “It's venom.”

Liam questioned, “Venom from what?”

“It's a special kind of venom that my family created. It's used only for execution purposes, such as lethal injections, and no one knows where it's kept except for my parents. I didn't even know where it's kept.”

“So, how would Jacob get his hands on it?” Zayn asked.

“Obviously his parents gave it to him,” Louis muttered.

“No,” Niall shook his head. “They would never give this to someone. They know how lethal this venom is.”

“What are the symptoms?” Angelina asked. “The stages of this venom, what are they?”

“The venom is moving much slower than I remember it,” Niall commented. “If he was given the right dosage, he would've suffered immensely and die within the hour.”

“That's comforting,” I groaned.

“Since he isn't dead, he was given a small dose. It's not enough to kill him right away, but it is enough for him to give him great pain until he dies. How the venom works is it will travel up his body, weakening him completely. Those black lines is the venom spreading. Eventually, it will travel all around his body.”

“That explains a lot,” Angelina muttered under her breath. “What else?”

“He's already getting a fever,” Niall said, removing his hand on my forehead. “Soon, he's going to feel muscle contractions, won't be able to have the strength to lift his head or open his eyes, he'll start hallucinating, and eventually when his body is nonfunctional, he'll die.”

They all stared at me. “What about blood?” Liam questioned. “Angelina's blood will help him heal right?”

“It will slow it down, but it won't subside the venom.”

“Is there a cure?” Angelina asked.

Niall sighed, “Yes.”

“Where is the cure?”

“It's a dangerous process. The only one who is able to cure away the venom is my mother. She is the only one who knows the incantation and the ritual to actually remove it.”

Louis shrugged, “Then, let's go to Ireland.”

“He can't move or else the venom will spread. The more he stays still, the more of a chance he will of the venom not spreading any faster than it already is.”

I glanced over at Angelina. I noticed the look in her eyes. “Don't even think about it,” I muttered. “Don't create an incantation that can get you killed.”

“I can do it,” Angelina shrugged. “I'm stronger than the queen when it comes to this.”

“Angelina, don't do it.” I glared at her. “You're going to focus on finding Jazlyn and only that. Don't distract yourself from finding her.”

“I'll give him some of my blood,” Niall promised. “My blood will hold him off longer than yours would. While you search for more information about Jazlyn's whereabouts, I'll try contacting my mother and see if she can give me instructions about the cure.”

She nodded and walked out of the room. I gestured Liam over to her, “Keep an eye on her. Knowing her, she's going to try and pull something.”

“Don't worry,” Liam nodded. “We'll handle it.”

Louis stepped forward, “We'll make sure she is focused in finding Jazlyn. Hang in there, Harry.”

They all walked out, except for Niall. Niall cut his wrist and allowed me to drink from him. Once his blood entered my system, I felt heat rush inside my body. The heat aimed where my body was hurting most. The fever disappeared, my body felt cooler, and my legs didn't feel that weak anymore.

Once I felt better, Niall left the room and told me to call him if I needed anything. I was forbidden to leave the room or even get up. I felt useless at this point. They were trying to figure out where Jazlyn was while I had to stay put in bed. I closed my eyes and listened in on their conversations with each other.

“Zoom in on that clip again, Louis,” Angelina instructed. “Why does that symbol look so familiar to me? Can you try figuring out the letters?”

“I can try, but it's going to be difficult.”

Zayn sighed, “It's showtime. That means that he wants to watch what he does to Jazlyn, right?”

“Possible,” Liam agreed. “Jacob probably wants Harry to watch Jazlyn suffer. Still, he doesn't want to hurt Jazlyn. Isn't that what they told you when we were talking about what they did to them at the catacombs? So, why is he doing it?”

“Jacob didn't want his family to neglect him, but they did. Jacob didn't want his brother to be killed, but he was. Harry doesn't want Jazlyn to get hurt, so she is,” Angelina answered. “He's getting revenge by what we did to him.”

“Except, we didn't get burned to death,” Zayn muttered.

“As far as he knows,” Angelina sighed. “Where are the girls?”

“They're upstairs in the art room. They thought we could use the privacy,” Liam answered. “Alright, so we find Jazlyn, and then what? What are we going to do with Jacob?”

“The royalty think that Jacob is dead. So, they shouldn't have a reason to interfere. The best thing I could think of right now is behead him and then burn his corpse. This time, we're going to stay there until his body is nothing but ashes.”

“I agree,” Niall said. “That's the best decision we have now.”

“Okay,” Louis announced. “I got something. I was able to zoom in on the lettering and managed to fix up the quality as best as I could. The letters that are visible are T, R, and A.”

“Tranquility Hospital,” Angelina muttered. “That hospital has been closed for three years now. Of course, Damon's coven lived there. When I went to go figure out if Harry killed those two vampires, I went there. That's why it looked familiar. Can you try figuring out if there is electricity still running in that building?”

“Yeah, it has been for awhile. According to this, three years after the hospital was closed it was bought by Damon with his fake name. It doesn't have plumbing, but the electricity has been running and still is.”

“Try seeing if there are cameras in that hospital and if they're still functioning. If they are, hack into the system and see if we can watch it from here.”

“Okay, I'll try and see what I can do.”

“Thank goodness for Louis and his computer skills,” Zayn commented.

“Got it,” Louis announced. “I found Jazlyn too. She's on the third floor of the building.”

“Wait, go back to the first floor of the building. I think I saw something.”

They all gasped and muttered something, but I couldn't understand what they said. I had every sense of urge to go downstairs and see what they were looking at. I wanted to see if Jazlyn was alright or if Jacob was near her.

“Is that what I think it is?” Louis muttered.

“Why would he have that there?” Liam asked.

“What is that?” Zayn questioned.

“It's a pyre,” Niall answered. I felt like my mind was spinning. My fingers were shaking and I felt like I was unsteady even though I was lying down. “From the size of it, the pyre is meant for a person.”

“But, why are there two?” Zayn muttered.

Even though I wasn't there, I knew that everyone was scared of what was said. Dread hit them like a strong wave and it was even powerful to affect me. I could feel the fear in them even though I was all the way in my room and they were downstairs.

“Because Jazlyn isn't meant to be the only hostage,” Angelina answered.
