Autumn

The time is passing so quickly. Ember has just started high school a few weeks ago and so far she is thriving. Since she has hit puberty she always wants to walk to school and we let her. She is also struggeling a bit with who she is. She went from wearing cute dresses to always something black that's classy.

"Wearing something new I see?" I ask as she rushes down the stairs. "Uhm, yeah mom, I have to go now or else I'll be late!" She shouts as she grabs the doorhandle but I stop her. "Em, eat something first!" I tell her and she sighs to then run to the kitchen and grab a banana. She then comes upto me, gives me a kiss on the cheek and she's gone before I even have the time to say bye to her.

Winter and I go to the nursery and I enter the office to see Marjorie with her hands in her hair whilst crying. Reece is sitting right next to her.

"She’s still not back is she?"

I feel so horrible for them. I thought I was as happy as I can be when I got with Winter. But the moment I held Ember in my arms for the firdt time I felt even happier. I can't even imagine to be without her for a few days, let alone what it would feel like to have her taken away from me like that.

Ember

I am waiting for Chloe at our waiting spot whilst scrolling on my phone. Then I get a notification from her.

Chloe: "Hey Ember."
Ember: "Hey Chloe, something wrong?"
Chloe: "Yeah, I'm not comming in today, I'm not feeling well."

Ember: "Alright, thanks for letting me know. Hope you get better soon!"

I continue walking to school but then I get grabbed by my arm from the back.

Autumn

"Marjorie, everything will be alright, we'll get Lily back for you." I say with hope trying to comfort her but it doesn't really help.

I notice the time and know that around this time Ember should be at school. I always check her location to see if she is at school just to be sure. This time however, she is not at school. The moment I realise I burst into tears.

Reece

I see Autumn bursting unto tears but I know that asking her will get me no where so I look over at her phone which she threw accross the room. I pick it up to see Embers location moving quickly on the direction Lily's did.

"Aut, I kniw you're sad but we need to go after it now before they turn her location of aswell." I grab her by the arm and drag her with me whilst running to my car. In the meantime I see Marjorie running over to the prescho room to get Winter. He gets with us in the car and we go after Ember.

Ember

I feel an arm grab me so I use what my mother thaught me about fighting amd get that arm off of me. My freedom doesn't last long because when I try to run away I'm grabbed by two men and they hold back my arms so I can do nothing. I feel a knock to my head and everything goes black.

I wake up to Lily shaking me awake.
"Ember!" I open my eyes to have nit only Lily looking at me but also three other people her age. "W- Where are we?!" I ask in a panic. "We don't know." Lily replies as I look at the others. "And who are these people?"

There is a blonde girl with brown eyes sitting on a mattres with a brunette boy and a blonde boy.

"They're my friends."

She points at the blonde girl and start introducing her. "This is Lilah, and that is Harry," she says pointing at the blonde boy. "Thry are my best friends. And that other boy is Jamey," she pauses and I see her cheecks flush red. "Wait, that was that boy you have a chrush on right?" I ask her and she rolls her eyes. "Well, we're a thing now." I squeel in exitement whilst she is looking as red as a tomato. "You two finally got togheter?" She just stares at me whilst Jamey looks at me confused, "Finally?". I gasp before I tell him how Lily has had a crush on him since forever just to get interupted by her. "EMBER! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT!"
"Oh, don't act so shy now after yoy spend sooo long stalking his mothers insta on Carly's phone." She looks at me with fury in her eyes and she kind of resembles my mother whilst she is angry like that.

"EMBER KNIGHT, STOP IT!!", Lily screams whilst grabbing my arm. "Hey, where do you get away with saying my full name?!" I say at her a bit angry whilst I give her a glare my mother taught me. I get my arm out of her grip and she looks at me like how Carly always looks at Reece when the "parental controls" become a topic.

We just stare at eachother and I break the silence. "Well, you lot have been here longer than me so do yall have anything we could use to escape?" I look at all of them but their faces are turned towards Lily. "Lily?" I say in a stern voice. She looks up at me and she starts talking. "Uhm, you know granddad was in jail right?" She says nervously and I nod before she continues. "Well, he was." She puts the pressure of the sentence on the was and I realise. "Oh that motherfucking rat! If I see him he will get it!" I pace the room as the others just stare at me. "Wait, how do yall even know?!" I shout without thinkihg and Lily makes herself small. I notice I probably scared Lily so I run over to her to comfort her. Instead of Lily answering my question Jamey does, "He came in to bring us food yesterday." I look at Lily with a bit of pitty, she must have been so scared to see him knowing what he is capable of. I calm her down and we just sit there for the rest of the night.

I feel so defeated because this time we could get them back but we were too late. They turned of her location before we were close enough to follow them and we had to accept our defeat. That night was the first in forever that I couldn't sleep because I cried so much, the last time was when I had realised my mom had left.
