Father - Part II [Eren & Reader's Baby]
"Papa!" Erina pointed excitedly at the outside view of the car. She was securely fastened to the baby seat where Eren constantly glanced over through the rear mirror. "Tweess!" She pointed that the tall trees that zoomed by.
Eren's head was running wild. Taking care of Erina wasn't really as difficult as he thought it would have been but he was 100% certain that taking his daughter for grocery shopping could make him lose his mind. Usually, he and _____ would go grocery shopping together while their neighbor, Krista would babysit Erina. But Krista was busy today so he had no choice but to bring Erina along.
"Maybe it wouldn't be so bad..." He sighed to himself. He pulled up at the car park and unfastened Erina from her baby chair, carrying her in his arms. Using his other free hand, he took out a rather small baby bag.
He pulled a trolley and put both his daughter and the baby bag into the trolley. Erina looked around excitedly since it was her first time grocery shopping. The automatic doors slid open and she opened her mouth in a perfect 'O' shape.
Eren couldn't help but to laugh at her adorable expression. Maybe bringing Erina along wasn't going to be as bad as he thought.
First, they stopped by at the fruits and greens section. Eren parked the trolley and scouted around, looking for the things he needed. While that happened, Erina looked around in all direction, taking in what she was seeing for the first time.
Her _____ eyes constantly followed the people who passed by her. It was a complete amazement to her. One of the passerby walked up to her with a smile and held her hand. "Hello." He smiled.
Erina stared at him for a moment and looked around for Eren, tears welling up in her eyes. She was uncomfortable with the stranger's closeness. Unable to see her father close by, she burst into tears, wailing and crying for her father.
The man put his hands before him in surprise and shock. He didn't mean to make her cry. "No, no, no. Please don't cry!" He begged as he tried to comfort her. He looked around, looking for her father which who he had no idea how he looked like.
Eren immediately rushed back to his trolley after hearing Erina's cries. Shit shit shit shit shit, he thought to himself. If _____ found out about this, she would kill him. As he approached his trolley, he saw a man trying his best to stop Erina's cries but she was crying harder and trying to get away from him.
The man turned around and saw Eren rushing towards them. His face was definitely hostile as the man's face turned paler than it already was. "Papa!" Erina cried, reaching her hands out to Eren.
"I-I can explain!" The man exclaimed as Eren pushed pass him, ignoring him to get to the crying Erina. Eren knew he had to keep his cool and tried his very best to not punch that guy in the face. It might scare Erina off.
He pulled Erina out of the seat and she buried her face in the crook of his neck, where the tiny little hands were tightly around it. Eren glared at the man as he rubbed his daughter's back soothingly. "It's okay, Erina. Papa's here. I'm here now." He said soothingly.
"S-Skewee horse face..." Erina cried. (I'm sorry, I just had to. I love Jean, I promise.) Eren and the man stared at each other for a moment before Eren's cheeks puffed out from the laughter he was trying too hard to hold in. The man flushed and rubbed the back of his head.
Soon, Erina had stopped crying and the horse-faced man apologized for scaring her. Eren smiled as she waved the man goodbye as they parted ways.
Now that was over, back to shopping. Eren had picked up all the greens he needed and they started to go through every column, searching for the rest of the things they needed.
As they passed by each shelves, Erina reached out to grab everything she could and put it in the trolley. Eren would pick it up and put it back but Erina would pout and whine for him to put it back. It was a self-repeating process and never seemed to end. She would keep on putting in more things and he would try to put it back.
Eren put his hands on the trolley handle and sighed as he looked at his smiling daughter with a box of cupcake mix. "Erina..." He said, scratching his head in slight frustration. "Why would you even need cupcake mix?"
"Cake!" She replied with her winning smile and shook the box in the air.
"We don't even know how to bake...Not even your mommy." He sighed. (I'm sorry if you do know how to bake but just go along with it, yeah?) He tried to pry the cupcake mix from her grips but Erina started to pout and put on her puppy face. Her _____ eyes started to look much more adorable and her little chubby cheeks were slightly rosy.
Immediately, Eren gave up. He couldn't resist her puppy face just like the way he couldn't resist yours as well. Maybe _____ can learn how to bake as well, he thought.
After a few more unsuccessful debates, they headed to the cashier. Approximately 65% of the groceries in the trolley were things that Eren wasn't sure how he would use it. But they got it anyway.
As they walked out, Eren noticed that there was a ball pit nearby. He tapped Erina's shoulder to get her attention from her beloved cupcake mix. "Do you want to go there?" Eren asked. Erina immediately nodded her head enthusiastically.
Eren parked his trolley nearby and carried Erina to the ball pit. She happily threw the colorful balls around her and wriggled her way to the center of the ball pit. Eren smiled at his daughter. Whenever he was having a tiring day, he would remember her smile and tell himself that things would be worth it. Erina waved at him and he waved back.
Just then, he felt something vibrate in his pocket. He took out his cell and picked up the call. "What's up, Armin?" He turned away from the ball pit to hear Armin clearer.
"Eren, sorry but Mikasa and I will be a little late."
"That's okay. Is everything good?"
"Yeah. It's just that we have some errands to run."
"Sure, take your time then."
"We'll be sure to make it there, don't worry."
"Alright then, see you."
He shoved his cell back into his pocket and turned back to the ball pit. He scanned around the colorful balls for Erina. Panic rose within him as he couldn't find her at all. Shit shit shit shit shit shit shit Eren dashed towards the ball pit and entered the sea of balls.
"Erina?" He called out, pushing away the balls to have a clearer view. "Erina!" He searched much more frantically. "Erina!" He was trying his best to not imagine the worse scenario.
After 5 minutes of frantic searching, Eren was about to have major breakdown. What kind of father was he; losing his daughter in a ball pit of all things! He hated himself so much.
Just then, relief rushed all over his body when he heard his beloved daughter's voice. "Papa!" She called from the far corner of the ball pit. He quickly rushed over to her and pulled her into a tight embrace, falling to his bottom.
"Thank God." He sighed as Erina returned the hug. "Let's go home, okay?" His daughter agreed with another enthusiastic nod.
Erina was pushing her stool everywhere, following Eren as he worked in the kitchen. Sure, none of you knew how to bake a cake but both your cooking skills were great.
Erina peeked over the counter while Eren cut the vegetable for the salad he was making. "Put it in the bowl, would you Erina?" He asked with a smile as he passed her the halved cherry tomatoes. She reached out and put it in the bowl just like her father had asked her to. Occasionally, she would put some of the cherry tomatoes in her mouth and flash a cheeky smile at Eren, who couldn't help but to laugh as well. Sometimes, she would feed him as well and he would gladly accept it.
Once he was done with the preparations for dinner, he decided that he should make cupcakes using the cupcake mix Erina fell in love with. Following the instructions, they carefully mixed the batter with eggs and butter. Eren accidentally, turned the mixer too fast and Erina had accidentally poured the mix out of place, causing the whole kitchen to be dusted with cupcake mix.
Both father and daughter took a minute to stare at the place and then at each other. Their faces, which were masked with the egg and butter mix along with the cupcake mix, broke into huge identical grins. "_____ is going to kill us when she sees this." Eren laughed smudging the batter on Erina's cheek. "But let's have fun for now."
You parked your car at your usual parking spot and got off it, sighing heavily. The conference was a success but it was a long and tiring day. You wondered how Erina and Eren were doing, and you prayed that they were both alive and well. As you made your way towards the elevator, you spotted Mikasa and Armin, who were headed towards the elevator as well.
"Armin! Mikasa!" You called out excitedly. It had been a long time since you last saw them. They smiled as they noticed you and all of you opened your arms for a hug.
"_____, it's been a long time!" Mikasa said, being the first one to hug you.
"Yes it has." You agree as you hugged Armin next. "What are you both doing here?"
"To visit you of course!" Armin smiled. "Eren called us over for dinner."
You raised your brow in surprise. He did? You thought. "I hope it's not much trouble." Armin laughed nervously.
"Of course not." You smiled reassuringly at them. At least, I hope it wouldn't be...
The three of you took the elevator together and talked while it made its way to the right floor. As you approach your apartment door with the keys in your hands, you took in a deep breath, hoping for the best.
You pushed the door open and to your surprise, Erina came running to you with what you suppose is a cupcake in her hands. "Mommy!" She giggled and your carried her in your arms. Instantly you kissed her slightly flour-dusted face.
"Hey Erina. Mommy missed you." You said. Armin and Mikasa peeked from your shoulders and waved at her.
"Hey Erina, remember us?" Armin smiled. Instantly, Erina reached her hands out for a hug.
"Uncle Armin! Aunt Mikasa!" She laughed as Mikasa took her from you. You smiled at your daughter's adorableness.
"Hey." Eren called from behind you. All of you spun around to find a flour-covered Eren with smudges of sauce and batter. He put an arm around your waist and kissed your forehead.
"Eren," You started off calmly, looking into his dark turquoise eyes with a smirk. "Please tell me the kitchen is still a kitchen."
Extended Ending:
You were glad that Eren enjoyed taking care of Erina all by himself today, although he had some trouble such as losing her in the ball pit and buying her all the things that they didn't need as well as completely turning the kitchen into a flour-and-batter covered wonderland.
Armin and Mikasa helped to clean the kitchen and left 2 hours after dinner. Erina had a wonderful day and passed out right after Armin and Mikasa left. After you kissed her forehead, you headed to your bedroom where Eren laid on the bed, his arms and legs spread out in exhaustion.
You climbed into bed next to him, kissing his cheek. "Great job today." You said as you planted another kiss on his nose. He smiled at you and kissed your lips. After kissing him a few more times, you climbed onto him and tackled his mouth with your tongue.
Both your tongues swirled in harmony. You grabbed into his shirt tightly, wanting more of him. You then moved down towards his neck and started kissing him there. A few groans of pleasure escaped from him and that made you kiss him harder.
But then it got quite again and you looked up in confusion. Eren's mouth was slightly parted and his eyes closed. You could hear his soft snores. You couldn't believe him. You pinched his nose which made him swat your hand.
You laughed to yourself. You couldn't blame him. After all he did a great job taking care of Erina alone. "I love you." You pecked his forehead and snuggled into his chest, falling asleep as well.
